Linksys Wired Router :: PCI Compliance And SSL Ciphers On RV082?

Mar 22, 2009

I am trying to get our internal network PCI compliant and when I run a network scan from securitymetrics.com I receive the following message about our RV082 router.

Synopsis : The remote service supports the use of weak SSL ciphers. Description : The remote host supports the use of SSL ciphers that offer either weak encryption or no encryption at all. See also :[URL]: Reconfigure the affected application if possible to avoid use of weak ciphers. Risk Factor: Medium  / CVSS Base Score : 5.0

I have been googling many different search terms for ssl ciphers, rv082, and pci compliance but didn't see any solutions to this.  Any experience with ssl ciphers and how to use more secure ciphers?  I just performed a firmware upgrade to 1.3.98-tm in hopes that it would fix this issue.

Linksys Wireless Router :: VPN Connection To Wrvs4400n With Mac?

Feb 26, 2007

I would like to connect to the built in accounts on the wrvs4400n from a mac VPN client. I am new VPN and have not found much information on how to establish this connection. Since Linksys seems determined to rely on Quickvpn, and provides no information on what it is actually doing under the hood I can not figure out how to configure any of the VPN clients available, or the built in VPN tools, for OS X (10.4.8). The only information I have been able to find seems to relate to setting up VPN Tunnels, or running a server behind the wrvs4400n and using one of the VPN passthrough options. I would like to connect directly to the built in accounts, how to set this up on a mac?

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRVS4400N / Automating (check Vpn) Through C#?

Apr 27, 2012

I would like to automatically check if the VPN is up or down, simple enough, and respond by bumping it, disconnecting and connecting, as needs be (not so simple I think). This through a C# program using HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse. It's simple enough to login to the VPN page using known credentials. Done deal. And also very easy to check a couple of known patterns in the VPN table. When I determine I need to bump the VPN, how do we simulate the form submission and/or call to the JavaScript programmatically?  we're using a Linksys WRVS4400N router, firmware version V1.1.13.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRVS4400N Can't Connect To Internet

Feb 26, 2012

I cant get the WRVS4400N to connect to my cable modem. The WAN link light isnt even lighting up. Im wondering if this unit is bad out of the box. Is there a setting im missing to get them to talk to one another. This is no mention in any of the manuals.

Connections: - The "Internet" port on the WRVS4400N to the "Network" port on my cable modem (No link light)

Here is what i have verified at this point: - My old router connects instantly to the modem when plugged in (Same cable) - When i plug my laptop into the WAN port on the WRVS4400N i get a link light. When i plug the modem into the WAN port...nothing.

My network has 2 computers attached: hardwire desktop and wireless connection to laptop. When I contacted ATT support, they said the problem is in the wireless modem. Are there some settings in the WRVS4400n that must be set to insure that each computer gets a different IP address?

I have a WRVS4400N setup as a main router for one of our bays.  For wired connections it is working with no problems.  When I first installed it it ran fine for wireless as well.  I was trying to get WDS to work and at some point the wireless stopped working.  My laptop can no longer connect to it and often cannot see it when doing a scan for networks.  I have already checked that it isn't a problem with the laptop, that there are not other networks causing interferance, and even tried resetting to default configs.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRVS4400N Site To Site VPN Drops After Time?

Mar 6, 2008

I have a new WRVS4400N configured with a site to site VPN to connect to my office.  At the office, we're running a Cisco PIX 515E.  I have successfully established an IKE preshared key and the tunnel is listed as Up.  I can successfully connect through the VPN tunnel into the office network through the tunnel and all seems good.  After some period of time, the tunnel apparently goes into a bad state.  Access to the office network is no longer available.  When looking at the VPN status screen, the Linksys indicates that the tunnel is up.  However, I cannot ping any resources on the office lan.  If I disconnect and connect the site to site VPN tunnel, it connects and comes back up successfully.  It seems like there is some sort of timeout taking place here.  I am running the 1.1.03 firmware.

Linksys Wired Router :: Wrvs4400n Firmware Upgrade With VPN?

May 10, 2013

I have three locations using the linksys wrvs4400n router with IPSec VPNS.   They all work fine and point back to a Server2003.  I just added a fourth location with the same router but this new router has firmware v2.x, where the others have firmware v1.x.  When I connected the new router into the VPN network, it caused the other tunnels to go down.  When I take the new router with firmware v2.x offline, everything else seems to work fine. Can the v2.x firmware cause the other VPNS on v1.x firmware to go down and not work properly?  Do I need to upgrade the firmware so all 4 linksys wrvs4400n routers are operating the same version number so not to cause the tunnels to disconnect?

Cisco :: LMS 3.2.1 Compliance Template Range Statement

Jun 5, 2013

I am trying to create a very basic template in compliance manager that checks for interfaces that aren't members of specific VLANs. VLAN 10 being one of them.  I want to match interfaces assigned to VLAN 20.  According to the documentation I have read, the following range statement should work because 10 falls between 3 and 19:

Submode: interface [#.*Ethernet.*#]
- switchport access vlan [#[3-19]#]

With the preceeding statement, however, interfaces assigned to both VLAN 10 and VLAN 20 are matching the rule. With this specific rule (not a range), only interfaces w/VLAN 20 are processed by the template, which is expected.  We actually have numerous VLANs that we want to exclude/include.  I only mentioned VLANs 10 and 20 for brevity.
