Every day or 2 my VPN times out. It still says "connected", but I cannot connect to anything thru the VPN. Once I disconnect and reconnect it works fine?how I can keep this connected at all times without having to go through this process every day or 2?
View 1 RepliesI have a E2500 router and 3 WAP610N access points. Users are having a difficult time connecting to the AP's. The client device just sits there trying to obtain an IP and then times out. If they get within range of the actual wireless router, then connect instantly. Is there a setting to increase that will allow longer time trying to obtain an IP?
I am using the same SSID for roaming, but am using different channels (1, 6, 11) for the overlap. See diagram below. Not sure if this has some impact?
I've recently had to unplug my modem and wireless router every time I want to connect to the Internet. Charter suggested that the modem signal was weak, indicating the modem might be bad, so I replaced the modem. The problem persists and they think the modem and router connection is timing out.They want me to lease a modem/wireless router combination for $10 a month. I'd rather buy one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to connect to the built in accounts on the wrvs4400n from a mac VPN client. I am new VPN and have not found much information on how to establish this connection. Since Linksys seems determined to rely on Quickvpn, and provides no information on what it is actually doing under the hood I can not figure out how to configure any of the VPN clients available, or the built in VPN tools, for OS X (10.4.8). The only information I have been able to find seems to relate to setting up VPN Tunnels, or running a server behind the wrvs4400n and using one of the VPN passthrough options. I would like to connect directly to the built in accounts, how to set this up on a mac?

Done deal. Here is what i have verified at this point: - My old router connects instantly to the modem when plugged in (Same cable) - When i plug my laptop into the WAN port on the WRVS4400N i get a link light. When i plug the modem into the WAN port...nothing.
I get a "IP address conflict" message on my wireless network. Using a WRVS4400n wireless router with the latest firmware that is set to PPoE. Motorola 336 dsl modem is set to bridge mode. My network has 2 computers attached: hardwire desktop and wireless connection to laptop. When I contacted ATT support, they said the problem is in the wireless modem. Are there some settings in the WRVS4400n that must be set to insure that each computer gets a different IP address?

I just added a fourth location with the same router but this new router has firmware v2.x, where the others have firmware v1.x. When I connected the new router into the VPN network, it caused the other tunnels to go down. When I take the new router with firmware v2.x offline, everything else seems to work fine. Can the v2.x firmware cause the other VPNS on v1.x firmware to go down and not work properly? Do I need to upgrade the firmware so all 4 linksys wrvs4400n routers are operating the same version number so not to cause the tunnels to disconnect?

When I first installed it it ran fine for wireless as well. I was trying to get WDS to work and at some point the wireless stopped working. My laptop can no longer connect to it and often cannot see it when doing a scan for networks. I have already checked that it isn't a problem with the laptop, that there are not other networks causing interferance, and even tried resetting to default configs.

The xbox seems to not like the router on WPA2 and though this would make one think, oh its your xbox, thats not always the case with devices. Some just may happen to want to use a feature the device doesn't support correctly and other devices are able to work around it while ones not so I cant for sure blame on xbox.

I'm running Mozilla firefox on xp 2. I hv wireless connection. My signal strength is very good. Under wireless network connection status my speed is 45 Mbps. Status is connected. Under activity it says is sending n receiving packets. My Internet used to disconnect n I'd restart it fixing it but now i'm having hard time getting it to connect. It keeps timing out. View 17 Replies View RelatedSome websites, such as Amazon and Verizon's forum suddenly started timing out. This occurs on chrome, IE, and firefox. My xbox says it is connected to the modem but that it is not connected to the internet. My kindle fire cannot connect, but my android phone could load some websites, but now it can't load any. My mac, my laptop with windows XP, and my desktop with windows 7 are having the same problem. I did an upload/download test and the times were normal. I also restarted my modem, with no change. Other strange changes are that the wireless signal is weaker and it was slowing a few hours before it stopped showing some websites. Also, io9.com will load, but only the text of the nav bars. There are no graphics or other information. This has never happened before.
I have not done anything new manually to the modem or my computers. The only significant change was a power outage due to heavy wind that occurred a little over 24 hours earlier. I'm so confused by this that I don't even know what else to look-up or test. Why would a bunch of reliable websites suddenly time out while others still work? I don't think I can blame it on the servers of those web sites because the other sections of Verizon.com work, and student.santarosa.edu loads, but online.santarosa.edu does not load

Recently, I've been getting problems where my internet browser is unable to connect to the server it's looking for or gets timed out. It happens intermittently (probably every five to seven web pages I try to visit), and refreshing after a few seconds always allows it to connect fine. It happens at some point on every web site I try to visit.This began occurring rather suddenly on both of my home computers. All other connections on these computers seem to be working fine. I use Chrome as the primary browser on both computers, but have tried using Firefox and it still seems to occur.What can I do to figure out what the problem is? I'm not even sure if it's a browser issue or a network issue, but we have never had this problem before

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new WRVS4400N configured with a site to site VPN to connect to my office. At the office, we're running a Cisco PIX 515E. I have successfully established an IKE preshared key and the tunnel is listed as Up. I can successfully connect through the VPN tunnel into the office network through the tunnel and all seems good. After some period of time, the tunnel apparently goes into a bad state. Access to the office network is no longer available. When looking at the VPN status screen, the Linksys indicates that the tunnel is up. However, I cannot ping any resources on the office lan. If I disconnect and connect the site to site VPN tunnel, it connects and comes back up successfully. It seems like there is some sort of timeout taking place here. I am running the 1.1.03 firmware.

Everything appears to be working fine (including my ipv6 tunnel) except for this issue where my long running ssh & database connections are being reset after a period of time.Currently have 2.03NA loaded, tried using 2.07NA but couldn't get ipv6 working correctly with the newer version.
