I have a RV082.I need to set up a VPN form outside to use a Static address from the Lan side of the RV082.
Lan is 172.16.0.126
Wan is 10.161.48.1
The computer using the VPN will need a virtual IP on the Lan of the RV082 so that it is seen as being on the same network as the equipment on the LAN.
I recently "upgraded" to Uverse from DSL. While the speed boost is nice, UVerse comes with a 2wire residential gateway. Unfortunately you can't disable the DHCP functionality in the 2wire router, nor can you disable the router functionality completely and just run it as a modem, which has pretty much made it impossible to integrate into my network.So the partial solution anyway is to keep using the rv082 (yey!) behind the 2wire, assign a public static IP to the rv082 WAN1 i/f, disable the firewall in the 2wire for the rv082, and up and running again.The problem I'm facing now is that I had 3 devices on the LAN that were published using individual public static IPs. With good-ol'-DSL, I could use the one-to-one-NAT feature in the rv082, block any unwanted traffic in the firewall, and everything works. Unfortunately with the configuration options in the 2wire, I can only assign a single public IP address to any one device hooked up to it, in this case the rv082 WAN1 port.i have the one-to-one-NAT configured sequentially on the WAN and LAN side on the rv082 with nothing else hooked up to the 2wire. For example, one-to-one-NAT configuration in the rv082:
WAN range: 66.77.88.91 to 66.77..88.93
LAN range: 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.4
The 2wire is allocating the first public static IP in the range to the rv082 (i.e. 66.77.88.91). This works 100% reliably for this address - however because I can only assign a single address in the 2wire interface the other devices are no longer accessible externally. Curiously it kind of partially works, but not reliably. I can briefly connect to one of the other addresses (say xx.92), but then connectivity is lost to the others.Someone suggested I try using the Dual-WAN feature to get at least two addresses assigned to the rv082. Seemed like a good idea in theory, i.e. because the 2 WAN ports have different MAC addresses, the 2wire should see two different devices and allow me effectively to assign two public IPs to the rv082, e.g. 66.77.88.91 to WAN1 and 66.77.88.92 to WAN2. Of course failover mode won't work here, because only one is connected at a time. However the load-balancing mode did seem like it may work, but something is going on that I don't understand. Internal connectivity is working fine and I can access the internet, but for some reason the 2wire is getting really confused and constantly re-assigning IP addresses to the rv082. I don't know if this is because the host name is the same for both WAN1 and WAN2 ports, or there is something in how the rv082 does the load balancing.
- Is there any tricks to getting the Dual-WAN to work in the way needed to essentially have two simultaneous internet connections?
- Would it be possible to buy a 2nd rv082 and have it on the same LAN? How would I configure this?
- Is there an alternative Cisco router that may work better with what I'm trying to do?
I would like to allow PING on RV042 from WAN side only from specific IP address, but when I set the rule, RV042 does not respond on WAN side, because Block WAN Request is Enabled.BUT! When I disable "Block WAN Requests", now any IP can ping my router from WAN side. Although I set access rule to Deny Ping from WAN side to anyone, it still responds.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a RV082 connected to a Comcast business-class internet with 6 static IP's one-to-one routed to specific internal hosts. This configuration has been stable for several years.
A few days ago, the RV082 stopped routing most of the external static requests to their specific internal hosts. External machines only display the "Can't connect to the webpage" error. Rebooting the RV082 re-enabled correct operation for about 30 minutes, then it failed again.
I pulled out my backup RV082, flashed it with the current configuration, and swapped it in. It acted the same - external statics route correctly for about 30 minutes, then it just stops.
I have a RV082 VPN Router. But my internet connection is ADSL brodband. How can i connect and setup a VPN connection to other RV082.

I have a Rv082 router that works great and I added a Cisco wireless Wap4410n to one of the ports and it works great for all my wireless connections. My problem is I cannot set up any security on the wireless connection. I see it on network majic pro but cannot access it thru my router . Do I have to install a poe switch first?

Im testing 1 942L, I've upgraded firmware to1.11, but periodically the camera loses its ip address which is weird because it is set static. My wireless is set to Mac address security. Now camera is outside in a shaded area, over night the camera worked all night, this morning it has reset three times. Additionally, each time it resets/losses ip address it also loses the manually set time.

View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to setup split tunneling over Site-to-Site (Gateway To Gateway) VPN between RV082 and Win 2008 server. Tunnel seems to be ok, I can ping/access by IP hosts from both ends. But I can't get split DNS to work. Here is the setup
10.10.100.2 is the DNS server for xyz.local zone. It is at remote network.
The tunnel and routing work properly. I can ping 10.10.100.2 either from RV082 (system management - diagnostics) or from hosts at local network.
Moreover, I can run nslookup on a host from RV082 side (local network), set 10.10.100.2 as server to be queried and test dns resolution. names of hosts from xyz.local are resolved correctly. But. If I use nslookup on host to query RV082 as a DNS server and query for a host from xyz.local it responds that xyz.local is nonexistent domain. The same result I get trying to resolve/ping same name on system management - diagnostics page. Resolution of names from xyz.local fails. But Internet names are resolved
just fine.
I've tried to reboot the router, connect/disconnect the tunnel, set Domain Name fields of split DNS configuration pagein different ways including fqdn of hosts from xyz.local No effect. Just the same situation.
I am trying to set up a static IP address for my Toshiba Satellite L350 Wireless Laptop on Windows 7. My Broadband is on TalkTalk (UK) Huawai Echo-Life HG520b. I tried many sites but it never seems to work.

I also have a home surveillance system with a DVR that can be accessed via the net. I am trying to allow the ports to open so that traffic can navigate down to the DVR.My IPs:My VOIP has provided me with 6 static IP addresses. For sake of this issue they are:

The Modem is connected to world. To the modem I have the Tilgen Router connected. The Tilgen is set with an ip of .153 and the subnetmask listed above. DHCP is turned on and has IP range set for .154-.158. It is set in Bridge Mode with NAT and Firewall turned off. To that I have the WRTG54G router connected and assigned the router an Static IP of .154.. The cable is going into the Linksys WAN port.From a computer connected to a LAN port on the WRT54G, I see my public IP as .154, currently my internal IP is 192.168.1.15 so I believe I have to assign one of my Static IPs to this PC, however when I try to connect to the Linksys Router (.154) from the outside web, I am get a time out error. (also from a ping test.) My thoughts are to assign the Linksys to DHCP and use a range of .155-.158 to give each lan item a static IP. My question is will this work? Will each item in the network have its own IP and if I forward the port to the DVR that i needed, ie 80 for web client or 6100 for desktop client, will that forward through?Or do I set it to Router Mode and use the Tilgen to assign the ips.
On the Tilgen I also have an option for a DHCP relay or to turn off DHCP.
For clarification here is the setup chain

Found this walkthrough on setting the WRT54G into a Switch. If I did this, in theory the VOOD would assign those computers/dvr connected downstream via the WRT54G a static ip from my range set on the router. Then in theory I would not need to port forward port 80 since the DVR would be on its own public IP.?
For some strange reason I'm getting the error "WAN IP should not be a network address" when I type in an IP address under the Static IP Settings section in the "IP Address" field. My client has a static IP from his ISP and I'm trying to set it up on the router. I've updated to the latest firmware 1.0.4.17 but still the same error.
I'm not copying and pasting the address, I'm typing it in. There is no extra spaces or anything. What is this glitch? I could save the router settings and reset it and try that but I'm doing this all remotely and would rather not have to make another trip to do this onsite.
I use a router RV082 with load balancing. My problem is when I try to access a specific site, I get the error message that my IP address changes and I can not use 2 ip address. I want to specify an ip range to always use the same WAN port.

This 'should' work fine, I just seem to be having an issue where the ASA seems to be blocking traffic from the voice network as it passes through.So here is the LAN setup:ASA: 1.1.1.1UC540: 1.1.1.2The UC has a voice vlan 10.1.1.1/24 and a service module at 10.1.10.1/30My PC uses the ASA as its default gateway, 1.1.1.1The ASA then has static routes to the UC networksRoute 10.1.1.1/24 1.1.1.2Route 10.1.10.1/30 1.1.1.2Ping from PC to the UC networks works fine. However, ping from the UC networks to PC fails. ASA logs show traffic being denied due to not having an established connection or something.My guess is that the traffic is being blocked because the egress and ingress paths are different? Traffic from the PC goes to the ASA, then gets routed to the UC and it works. However in the other direction, traffic from the UC is going directly to the PC and bypassing the ASA, because its a directly connected network and doesn't have to route through the ASA to get to the PC. The reply traffic from the PC DOES go through the ASA following its route table, thus the issue of the ASA not seeing the established connection?Same-security inter and intra interface is enabled.So I think I see the issue, I just don't know how to fix it. Is there something I can configure on the ASA to allow for this? My only other option would be to configure a /30 on a new vlan to handle the routing between the UC and ASA or something, but that seems like its going to make this simple setup way too complicated with extra networks, vlans, trunks, etc.I am running ASA version 8.4.5?

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I installed the 1.0.2.6 Firmware on a RV180W. I only have now two problems regarding the Static DHCP support in the GUI.
1. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > Static DHCP I have no buttons to Add a new static Lease.
2. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > DHCP Lease Clients I can thick a Lease and click on Make Static IP. The result is an error: Operation failed.
Recently I have switched from DSL to Comcast Cable. In the PPoE settings you can disable DNS from ISP. However, now since I have to use DHCP I cannot disable the DNS from ISP.If I change the DNS on the LAN or change the DNS in my adapter properties (in local machine) this makes my Brother printer loose connectivity.How can I get the openDNS servers on the WAN side of the RV220?I do not have a static ip address from Comcast either....

I connect a netbook to port 3 and I can connect to internet but I cant reach by ping the other side of the tunnel?Maybe traffic from voice vlan is being natted with data vlan ip address?I need all traffic must go into the tunnel without being natted, on cisco side I have a policy to avoid nat but don know if SRP have any problem about it too.All gateways are ok ?
I am trying to setup vpn on a sbs 2008. Our gateway is a Linksys router RV082 (192.168.125.1). Port 1723 is open and forwarded to our main server...(192.168.125.2). I need to setup vpn client access. I setup a couple of users on the router to test the connection. Block WAN request is disabled on the router. I make sure I am connected to another network(tethering from my android phone, I confirmed I had internet access) to test the vpn. On my win7 laptop, when I setup the vpn, I input the wan IP with the port to connect to: 6x.19x.7x.9x:1723. I input the credentials I setup on the router.I get error 868: the remote connection was not made because the name of the remote access server did not resolve. Our DNS is managed remotely by Domain Names, Web Hosting and Online Marketing Services | Network Solutions.

Is there an option to turn on "respond to ping" and also are you able to forward to a internal IP?
I have a RV220W (running fw version 1.0.2.4) that i am trying to configure for a client. They are set up on Comcast with 13 available IP's. I should note that this netowrk is now currently running without issue using a Cisco Pix 506e. Unfortunately, the Pix is almost impossible to configure using the GUI now as I have to load a 4-year old version of Java now just to get the PDM to load. But I digress.I've set up the RV using the identical settings as the Pix on bth the LAN and WAN side. When I do, computers on the LAN side can all reach the Internet ok. However, once I enable one-to-one NAT for an internal server, that machine can't send or receive ANY traffic to the WAN side. I've even tried setting access rules enabling ANY traffic in both directions, and that has no effect. Either I'm missing something, or this is just one more bug in this product.
Even though it was a bit of a step down going from the Pix to the RV220W, it was done for the ease of setting up VPN's as I was ready to purchase a second one for a new satellite office opening in a few weeks. It looks like we will be switching vendors on the router side as my faith in Cisco is waning at this point.
I just bought a N750 DB router. On boot up, the 5Ghz side will show up for about 20-30 seconds and then it just "disappears". I was even able to connect to it @ 300mb with my laptop. The 2.4Ghz shows up just fine.

I have to Dyndns.org in the WRV200.I have setup the RV082 tunel auth like: Dynamic IP + email.In the WRV200 I setup the hostname with the username, and the domain with the domain part of domain entered in the RV082.In the RV082 VPN Log I got: Initial Aggressive Mode message from 11.22.33.44 but no (wildcard) connection has been configured.It seems to be working the IPSEC setup but the RV082 does not accept the connection because of a missmatch in the Remote Security Gateway Type parameter in the RV082.
