Have deployed a few of these - and am truly frustrated that I cannot see then in the topolgy, let alone actually manage them. Why such a ubiquitous switch is not supported.
Even the SmartPort utility is useless - CCA (3.3.1 and earlier) gives an error saying a port is incorrectly configured (I pluggged it into an exp port on the UC560 as I gave up trying to get a working uplink to an ESW-540-24P).
The Smartport port function wants the exp port (on the UC560) to be configured as a "Phone/Desktop" - if I try to change it to a "switch", it refuses to accept it saying the "Macro is unsuitable - or similar"
I am trying to create a VPN between a SRP521W (only point-to-point VPN) and a UC560 (VPN server) and it seems it doesn't works (SRP doesn't create the tunnel).
Does Cisco have an official number of how many AP541s are supported directly by a UC560? these are standalones and I know they are configured in a max of 10 to a cluster, but how many clusters can you have? We are looking at a hospital installation with one UC560 and 25 AP541s.
I have a AP541N connected to a UC560. We are currently configured for Wireless Voice and Data. We have added a Guest VLAN, but don't see where in CCA to secure the VLAN from accessing the other other two default VLANs.
I have a 300 series switch with VLAN1 untagged, VLAN 15,5,100 tagged. I want say ports 1-12 to use one uplink/trunk and 13-24 to use another uplink. All ports should have the same default VLAN1 and be tagged for 5,15,100. I'm trying to ease the load on two wireless uplinks(one is a Cisco 1242AG and the other is a UBNT PowerBridge.) I don't want to add another switch. Model: SF 300-24P
I have a question, does the SG300-28 support VTP and STP?. I want to add it to my network's VTP domain so I don't have to manage vlans manually on the SG300-28 and also be able to configure STP to keep my network loop free.
i found that cisco small business SF302 PoE managed switch connect with the end device (RFID component) would causing packet drop issue.how should i isolate the issue and proper troubleshooting? would it cause by the PoE issue, or the 10/100 base etc.
For test I used 2 Switch that name "ESW X" and "ESW Y" I have 2 network that I named "Network A" and "Network B" I build 2 VLAN for each network that named Vlan 2 for Network A and Vlan 3 for Network B, I don't use Vlan 1 because it's the default Vlan
Configuration ESW X: port e1 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 2 port e2 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 2 port e3 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 3 port e4 : ACCESS PORT on UNTTAGGED Vlan 3 port g3 : TRUNK PORT with UNTTAGGED Vlan 1(default) and TAGGED Vlan 2 and Vlan 3
[code]....
Each Vlan can't communicate between the two switch, I think they're a problem in my vlan/port configuration?
I would like to configure a switch to act like a Hub. I know about the mirroring port configuration, but unfortunately is not enough for me. Is it possible to do that with the switch that I have (i.e. SG 200-08) ? If not do you know a switch on which I can configure it like a hub (that mean no flow control between physical ports).
I am trying to setup an ACL on SG 300 switch. I want to create an ACL that enables hosts on our guest network to obtain IP addresses from a server on our "internal" network but they should not be able to reach any other resorses on that network. I set it up as follow, but it does not work the way i want. I have also bind interfaces to the ACL.
I am interesting is ESW-520-24-K9 switch supports GLC-LH-SM SFP? In official data sheet there is no information about that. it is supported and I am interesting if it is true ?
I am having an issue with LAG configuration on a Cisco SG300 52 switch. I have connected four Ge ports on the switch to the four NICs of a Dell R710 Server on which I installed Windows Server 2008 R2. Without LAG configured, these ports would forward traffic to and from the Dell server fine. However, if I configure LAG on the ports with LACP enabled, then they would not forward any network traffic. Debugging shows that the ports are up but their forwarding status show N/A. Am I missing any configuration? Can I configure LAG on edgeports?
I have configured stack with 2 sge2010p switches. I want to connect this stack to the HP procurve switch using port agregation (LAG) technique. I want to use one ge port on each sge switch. How to configure it? Will it work witch port agregation on procurve?
I have a SF 200-24P Cisco switch that seems to be rebooting constantly, When i connect it to mains power it seems to go through a startup cycle, in this order - i have tried this with no network devices attached and the same thing happens
1. Fan starts - continously runs
2. Very quick flash of all RJ45 ports.
3. After about 30 seconds, any network devices connected have an acticity light
4. After about another 45 seconds, all ports light up including the activity and POE orange LEDs for about 5- 10 seconds then go off.
5. About 10 seconds later the ports all light up again and stay on for about 5 seconds.
6. All ports go off and the cycle keeps repeating continously.
I have tried pinging the switch without success.I have also tried disconnecting all devices from each port with no success. At no time does the system LED on the left light up.I have tried resetting to factory default with reset pot on the left side. This is a brand new shipped switch from our cisco supplier, could it be DOA?
Any way to access the usual command line interface instead of using the GUI or Telnet/SSH interfaces on the Cisco Small Business SFE2010P switch? Note that the console port is not working at the moment...
We just purchased 8 managed switches POE to swap out our existing in preparation for our new phone system. We installed them all after configuring with static IP. Deployed... and all but two work fine. Any tips for troubleshooting why two of them do not work? There are a couple other switches in the building. Could it be that a switch "upstream" from the two non-functioning switches is causing an issue? If so, how do I find out? When we put back the two "dumb" switches all was fine.
I want to create a network with the following switch SF 300 - 08.I am not use to GUI.I am having problems setting the settings.Currently, i have assigned each port with a vlan 1 to 8 for ports 1 to 8.How do i do an inter vlan with the GUI? Also, i want to restrict port 7 and 8 to certain ports only. Example:Port 7 and 8 can read port 5 and 6 but not others?
I have fiber optics no router One static IP address, when connect SF 200 the system LED flashes and there is conductivity.I checked ther is no setting for static ip,Gateway,DNS, so is this unit only for Dynamic address
I have an ESW 520 8-Port switch with a management ip address of 192.168.10.2 /24 After I reboot it, I can successfully ping it from a pc with an ip of 192.168.10.123 for about 50 consecutive times. After that, I get a "Destination host unreachable" (this icmp message is sent by my pinging pc (192.168.10.123).This obviously seems like a bug.Whenever I reboot it, it goes through the same sequence.
I have 2 (and maybe soon 5 more) 7940G phones to add to my network, which already has a Netgear POE capable switch. I've since discovered that early Cisco POE isn't the same thing as current POE, and the switch doesn't power the phones.
I was looking at adding a Cisco SD208P 8-port switch to power the phones, but I soon discovered it only has 4 POE ports, and I'm not sure that this switch will even power the 7940G phones. And if the other 5 phones show up, I'll need two of those switches with no room for expansion on the voice network.
Will this switch power those phones? Is there another small switch available so I don't have to replace my existing switch infrastructure to get these phones to work? Or do I need to scrap the phones and get something newer that will work with the current POE standards?
When I try and add my 2 500x devices to cisco Network Assistant, i receive the following error: Unsopported Device type: UnKnownCannot add device <IP> to community>
I can telnet to switch from checkpoint firewall access port and from switch directly. I can ping/traceroute successfully to the switch. Access-lists 14 & 15 are allowing the traffic I want. The router on the other side of the FW has 2 static routes and a default static route set up.
Here is some of the config from my switch:service tcp-keepalives-in
service tcp-keepalives-out
service timestamps debug datetime msec localtime show-timezone
service timestamps log datetime msec localtime show-timezone
aaa authentication login default local enable line none[code].....
Not sure of checkpoint firewall config....I have run wireshark when trying to telnet and I get no syn-ack back from remote switch. Just 3 consecutive syn attempts.I have some switches I can connect to and they go right through the 3 way TCP handshake and I cannot find any differences in the configs between the successful connections and the unsuccessful connections.
I have a problem with my SG200-08 Switch the switch not forwarding a special Packet. I try to run a simple Profinet installation for testing on the switch but it didn't work correct. A special packet (Profinet error message) was not forwarded.
I have tried it with different Profinet masters with Siemens Profinet master it works without of problems. With Rexroth master it dosn´t work. But it is the same packet only another Mac Address.
I have added two Wireshark logs, where I have mirrored the slave and the master port. With the Siemens master all packets are forwarding (every packet is double longed) with the Rexroth master the alarm packet was not forwarding (the alarmpacket is lost between the ports).
With a not managed Switch it is no problem too run both Installations correct. I have tried the Factory default Settings of the switch and too deactivate all services of the switch (like Spanning Tree, ..) but it was all the same, the Packet was not forwarded.
I am using a Cisco SRP527W router for our small business. As this device only has 4 LAN ports I want to add another switch so as our business grows I can add more PCs and VoIP phones. I would like to use a Cisco SF300-24 switch and before I purchase am interested to know if anyone has used a SRP527W router with this range of Cisco switches. Are there any compatibility issues or will these two devices work well together?
