i found that cisco small business SF302 PoE managed switch connect with the end device (RFID component) would causing packet drop issue.how should i isolate the issue and proper troubleshooting? would it cause by the PoE issue, or the 10/100 base etc.

SG300-24 (L3) core switch (in our server room)
|SG300-10P (L2) access swtich (in our meeting room) |
SG500-28P (L3) switch (in our meeting room)
We are building a new computer infrastructure that is connected to the the SG500-28P. As you can see above the SG500-28P in our meeting room has an uplink to the SG300-10P in the same meeting room. And again the SG300-10P has and uplink to the SG300-24 in our server room. From the server room, there is connectivity to internet. The network uses a multiple VLAN's and routeing between them. Bootom line is, the internet VLAN ID 10 is tagged to trunk ports and available on the SG500-28P. So client get connected straight into the internet based VLAN.
The performance on the SG500-28P switch itself from VLAN to VLAN is very fast. But... the uplink connection tot the internet and other VLAN's on the core switch are very and very slow! At least 10 times slower than normal. So if I plug a laptop in the SG500-28P and go from uplink to uplink, it is slow! But... when I connect the same laptop to the SG300-10P the connection with only one uplink it is fast. As if three switches is to much. I can't figure out why.
I have a AS2511 device connected to the console ports of two switches console. I needed to have a LAN connectivity to these switches from the AS2511 device. Can we use the RJ45 serial ports in the AS2511 to achieve this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with a SG300-10 (our first SG300) working as a desktop switch.When a PC that is connected to the switch is powered off and is later (a few minutes or next day) switched on, the PC has a ethernet-connection to the switch, but no IP-connectivity.The PC-statistics shows that ethernet is connected and it sends packets, but the PC does not receive any packets.At the same time the SG300 statistics for the port says, that the ethernet is connected (same paramaters as the PC) an that the switch is sending IP-packets (broadcast and unicast) to the port, but does not receive any packets. With the older firmware 1.2.9.44 the IP-connectivity worked after waiting 5-10 minutes.With the new firmware 1.3.0.59 I can wait even 15 minutes, there is no change and nothing happens.But when I change some "unimportant" parameters of the port (i.e. change port speed from autonegation to fixed 1000M, or vice versa) and then save the running configuration to the startup-config, around 5-10 Seconds after the configuration is saved, the port gets full IP connectivity and after that works fine (until the PC is switched OFF and ON the next time).This is a very strange behaviour. As "PC" I have tested this with HP-workstations, Lenovo Thinkpad and a MAC Mini. The switch "reacts" to all the same.Following I have attached the config of the switch. [code]
I´ve got a strange problem with the connectivity within a ring topology.There are five switches from the SGE2000 series and one SG200-50.The SG200-50 is the root bridge and RSTP is configured.From the root bridge switch (Switch 5) I can ping Switch 0.But I cannot ping Switch 0 from PC0.
On the other hand I am able to ping all other Switches (1-5) from PC0.In addition to that I can establish a RDP connection from PC0 to Server0.This tells me that there is no general problem with the connection from PC0 to the Switch0.
Right now when I want to configure Switch0 the only way is to connect to Server0 first.But we have to move Server0 and this is why I want to manage Switch0 from PC0 like any other Switch on that network.
In my 3750 stack switch there are more than 10 L3 vlans currently in use.In that only one vlan for example vlan 11 (we given up link directly to the nodes connected to that ports which is in vlan 11)losing connectivity for sometime and again connectivity restored.Except Vlan 11 all other vlans are working fine. When we troubleshooted the issue some of the ip's able to ping and some not able to ping. checked the interface status of that ports (no crc and input errors) and port is in up status only.we also checked cpu utlilisation ,device uptime, all are no issues found. am sharing my sw basic config and one interface status at the time of issue.But only one port learning more than 50 Mac-Addresses dynamically.and am learning mac address violation in another port which is port security and storm control enabled on that port..Its seems to be any attack or something else????

View 5 Replies View Relatedam using GNS3, and have the 16port switching module. I have created a PC instance and connecting to f/0/0 which is a layer 3 port, I can connect via layer 3 IPs. I then reconfigured and connected the PC instance via a layer 2 port f2/0 which is part of the 16port switch module. All 16 ports are by default in vlan 1. I assigned an IP of 10.1.9.1/24 to the VLAN and gave the PC 10.1.9.2/24. I cannot ping and I cannot even ping 10.1.9.1, the VLAN 1 IP. [code]

I have configured each VPC for each floor and portchannel configuration on 2960s switch to communicate to 5K switches. Now I am not able to communicate PC 1 connected in 1st floor to PC2 connected in 4th Floor.
I have attached topology map of my infra and the configuration files also. 1st floor switch and 4th floor swich have same configuration except IP address and switch name.
I have a dell studio 1588. I was connecting fine to the Internet but then received the message no wireless connectivity. Hardware switch off. I have done a complete system restore turned on the wireless button at f2 repeatedly but the problem persists. Someone I spoke to suggested a new wireless card. How can this support if the switch is not working.

As of now the 3560 Switches acts as Layer 2 and does not have L3 IP routing enabled. How can I enable conenctivity between 192.168.36.0 range and 192.168.57.0 range wihtout making any change to current PIX inside IP address 192.168.57.1?Is it possible that I can enable IP routing on the 3560 Switches , create interface VLAN 36 and since already Switch 2 has it 's default gateway as 192.168.57.1 , Would the traffic from 192.168.36.0 be routed to 192.168.57.1 ? Or do I need to create static route for that ?Since L3 Routing is not enabled and since the 3560 Switches are just acting as L2 , the VLAN 2 - 192.168.57.0 range does not have any interface VLAN configured. When it is changed I would need to create interface VLAN 2 on 3560 Switches?

Each Fex is connected to each 5k, so we need a switch-profile to maintain a consistent setup on our interfaces. View 1 Replies View RelatedI haven't worked with infrastructure much lately but planning on replacing a Dell switch used for a small iSCSI SAN with a Cisco 3560x. Switch is sstorage ONLY, network handled through different switches. I believe I want to disable spanning tree and configure trunking for the 4 GB ports connected to the storage array. The switch is providing connectivity to SAN via multiple GB connections and then also multiple GB connections to 3 Vmware hosts.Can you look over the changes I made to config below and let me know if I am on the right track.
I also plan to add a second switch later with the 10GB modules to interconnect for redundancy (but not worried about that part for now). I do not plan on using jumbo frames.
Here are my questions
1) Is the best way to globally disable spanning tree for the switch?
2) Did I trunk the ports correctly below?
3) Should I apply any specific SmartRoles to the 4 SAN NICs (GE1-4) or to host NICs (GE13-20)?
4) Anything additional I should do to handle iSCSI data?

I had a strange issue yesterday when onsite installing a new access switch.Port capacity full on a two switch stack of 3750 x48 PS switches (WS-C3750- 48PS-E)- New 2960 x48 PS - WS-C2960S-48FPS-L racked, with the plan of using it just as an edge switch via SFP Stacking cable.Setup the two connecting ports with simple initial config: - switchport mode trunk- no encapsulation option on the 2960, default dot1q- dot1q set on 3750 port- no shut on both sides.Connected the SFP Stacking cable but it didnt work:- %PHY-4-SFP_NOT_SUPPORTED: The SFP in Gi1/0/1 is not supported
This is ok as I had a backup:- Next step tried using 2 x Short Haul SFP SX GBIC's with LC - LC OFNP 50/125 fibre patch lead - no joy- Extra backup of 2 x Long Haul SFP LX GBIC's with the same fibre patch - no joy- Checked the fibre and it was not a cross over so transmit and receive going down the same side, switchedand still would not come up.- Used Fibre as a straight through and still the same.In all cases there was no indication of any life in the connection.It is pointing to a faulty fibre patch lead but I know it has worked in the past. Could it be something to do with the config or device incompatibility? Or any setting I need to activate?
I have a lab setup to take my CCNA and CCNP and I'm having issues trying to get WAN connectivity back to a switch at the end of my network. My lab environment consists of 1 - 2950 switch, 1 - 2620 and 1 - 2621XM. I have 1 Ethernet connection from each router to the switch and 1 serial connection from the 2620 to the 2621XM. I have the serial interfaces in a shutdown state right now so there is no loop since I do not have Spanning tree setup on the ports on the switch yet.
Right now using the fast ethernet ports on the routers and I have no issues its when I shut down those Ethernet ports and try using the serial interfaces when I start having issues. So my network layout is Ethernet from switch port f0/4 to port f0/0 on 2620 and serial from s0/1 on the 2620 to s0/2 on the 2621XM. My 2621XM f0/1 is whats connected to the WAN and I have no issues getting to the WAN from my 2621Xm or my 2620 but when I try pinging any website or even my WAN default gateway from my switch I get nothing!
Ive also noticed that when I do a IP NAT translation (after accessing the WAN from my 2620) on my 2621XM the source IP is of my serial connection not the ip of my 2620 router? I have my default gateway on the 2620 as the the IP of my serial interface on the 2621XM and vice versa because my LAN network is 172.16.1.0 and my WAN is 172.16.9.0. I have a /31 setup between my serial connections 172.16.11.0 (s0/1) is on the 2620 and 172.16.11.1(s0/2) is on the 2621XM. I used the SDM (ver 2.5) to setup NAT to have f0/1 with Nat outside and s0/2 as Nat inside. Encapsulation is HDLC between the serial links. Ive attached the running configs of the switch and routers.
I have a 300 series switch with VLAN1 untagged, VLAN 15,5,100 tagged. I want say ports 1-12 to use one uplink/trunk and 13-24 to use another uplink. All ports should have the same default VLAN1 and be tagged for 5,15,100. I'm trying to ease the load on two wireless uplinks(one is a Cisco 1242AG and the other is a UBNT PowerBridge.) I would like to configure a switch to act like a Hub. I know about the mirroring port configuration, but unfortunately is not enough for me. Is it possible to do that with the switch that I have (i.e. SG 200-08) ? If not do you know a switch on which I can configure it like a hub (that mean no flow control between physical ports).

Even the SmartPort utility is useless - CCA (3.3.1 and earlier) gives an error saying a port is incorrectly configured (I pluggged it into an exp port on the UC560 as I gave up trying to get a working uplink to an ESW-540-24P).
The Smartport port function wants the exp port (on the UC560) to be configured as a "Phone/Desktop" - if I try to change it to a "switch", it refuses to accept it saying the "Macro is unsuitable - or similar"

I have connected four Ge ports on the switch to the four NICs of a Dell R710 Server on which I installed Windows Server 2008 R2. Without LAG configured, these ports would forward traffic to and from the Dell server fine.However, if I configure LAG on the ports with LACP enabled, then they would not forward any network traffic. Debugging shows that the ports are up but their forwarding status show N/A. Am I missing any configuration? Can I configure LAG on edgeports?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a SF 200-24P Cisco switch that seems to be rebooting constantly, When i connect it to mains power it seems to go through a startup cycle, in this order - i have tried this with no network devices attached and the same thing happens
1. Fan starts - continously runs
2. Very quick flash of all RJ45 ports.
3. After about 30 seconds, any network devices connected have an acticity light
4. After about another 45 seconds, all ports light up including the activity and POE orange LEDs for about 5- 10 seconds then go off.
5. About 10 seconds later the ports all light up again and stay on for about 5 seconds.
6. All ports go off and the cycle keeps repeating continously.
I have tried pinging the switch without success.I have also tried disconnecting all devices from each port with no success.At no time does the system LED on the left light up.I have tried resetting to factory default with reset pot on the left side.This is a brand new shipped switch from our cisco supplier, could it be DOA?
Any way to access the usual command line interface instead of using the GUI or Telnet/SSH interfaces on the Cisco Small Business SFE2010P switch? Note that the console port is not working at the moment...

Deployed... and all but two work fine. Any tips for troubleshooting why two of them do not work? There are a couple other switches in the building. Could it be that a switch "upstream" from the two non-functioning switches is causing an issue? If so, how do I find out? When we put back the two "dumb" switches all was fine.
