Cisco Switches :: SG-300 Port Lock By BPDUguard Not Visible In WebGUI?
Jan 15, 2012
we are starting to replace low budget hubs by the SG-300's. On the accessports we use BPDUguard and mac security (max 1 user per port).
The newest firmware is used (1.1.2.0).
When i lock a port intentionally by connecting e.g. ports 4 and 5 together (something that happens quite frequently by user-faillure) i do not see this in the WEB gui.
The CLI does tell me that the port is locked:
gi4 1G-Copper -- -- -- -- Down* -- --
*: The interface was suspended by the system.
In the webGUI i can reset the port, but in the CLI i don't get how i should do this. I tried a 'shutdown' followed by a ' no shutdown' on CLI interface level, but that does not lift the suspension state.
Questions:
- Possible to lift the suspension state using the CLI ?
- Is there a way to see the lockdown in the webGUI ?
I can't access the WEBGUI on any of them. they are very busy, the network is working fine, but I can't connect to the webgui on them. I've even had problems with a few connecting to them via HyprTerm. I bought 7 of the 12 just last May. If I'd known they were end of life I wouldnt have purchased these, although they are an awesome 48 gig switch for the price.
I need to be able to VLAN these. How can I get back in? Power cycle?
Seagate 1 TB HD connected via USB to Belkin double N + wireless router not visible to wireless connected laptop and other devices.I upgraded to latest Belkin firmware.NB The wireless router works for providine common internet access for 4 separate devices on homenetworkNB The wireless router never appears under 'network' in Win 7 file manager.NB I have been unable to get the Belkin storage manager to work at all under Win 7.Have connected External drive to laptop to set to 'share' and rename to something short ("Storage")I reconnected it to wireless router - I then tried to connect (and map) to \192,168.2.1Storage - fail.At this point Win 7 prompts for a network pwd and informs me I must 'enter a pwd to connect to 192.168.etc.' It says the account to use to logon on to the router is laptop/Admin. Which makes no sense. id expect it to list a router account, not the connecting laptop one. There is no option to change the domain.
I'd like to use load balancing with the RV042, but I have some devices that don't react well to not always using the same outgoing port (like a credit card machine, for instance). Is it possible for me to create some "rule" with the RV042 that an internal IP address will use a certain WAN port? And if so, when that WAN port goes down will the RV042 fail-over to the other active WAN port? I was able to do this with a Xincom XC-OPG502 (which is being replaced with the RV042).
Is there any way yo restart the WRT160NL from the web interface? I've had several routers before this Linksys and all of them had this option. In the web GUI of the WRT I can't find the way to do it and I have no other solution of unplugging it and plugging again.
I recently put in a Netgear firewall, configured it, its running no problem. Then I setup a new Netgear N600 wireless router, configured it, gave it a static IP, connected to it, works like a charm. Thing is, when I try to access the web gui I receive nothing.. Is the Netgear firewall taking priority or something? I went directly connected to the netgear wifi router and double checked to make sure that there was no settings restricting administration from wifi users, etc..
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough. As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.
i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.i have supressed this port mirroring.when i try to reconfigure a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE3. The SF200 web interface crash. the SF200 seems to reboot.
i have updated the SF200 firmware from V1.1.2.0 to V1.1.2.9.44 when i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.But after having suppressed this port mirroring again, i was not able to reconfigure a new port mirroring from port FE1 to FE3 (the SF200 hangs).
i have also tried to return to default factory setting but this does not solve the issue.i am working on SF200-24P
I am on network with administrative rights and one computer on network is not visible in ipscanner, cannot connect with remote desktop connection. Cant even connect by typing in run command (eg. \192.168.1.10c$) The computer is ON and users have logged on it many times. This same problem happens on many other computers too, and its not permanent. After few days or so, he problem is gone, and sometimes persists after a weekend, when pc is shutdown on Friday. Operating system is windows xp sp2 and there is no third party firewall on remote computers.
I performed a software reboot on the MSE3310. After the reboot the MSE was no longer visible on the network. I went and consoled into the device and it was operational. I ran the msed stop and msed start commands. I got this message when it tried to load eth0.Bringing up interface eth0: e1000 device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.Earlier in the day I had updgraded the firmware from 6.0 to 7.0.230.0.
My PC is wireless connected to my modem, My X-Box is wired to my modem, PC detects x-box in home network, X-Box doesn't see PC when running connection test, X-Box however does connect to web. When I plug in an Ethernet Cable from my Modem to my PC the X-Box instantly detects my PC. I can't figure out how to make my x-box communicate with my PC when it's it's half wireless / half wired.
My home network, consists of a bunch of Win 7 computers and 2 XP machines. One XP machine is a netbook, it's rarely on and presents no issues. Here's the problem I'm having with the other XP machine:-My Win XP PC does not show up in the list of networked computers on any of the other machines on my home network.-But I can still access the shared folders by going to start and typing in \computer name.Win 7 will open a folder containing all the shared folders and I have no problem accessing (and modifying) any of its contents.-I also can access the PC via a VNC client set up on another machine and even have ports properly configured to access it from out of the house-I use this PC as a server to stream music to my iPhone via subsonic. No problem here either-I can access all the other computers from the XP machine in question.Since I can still get to the files this wouldn't be a big deal, except:-I can't map a network drive to the XP machine from the other PCs and I need to-I have an HTPC computer whose software can't find this XP machine because it's not there
I am having problems setting up a VPN between a Win7 PC and a Server 2008 machine.I am using 'Routing and Remote Access'(with NAT)on the server and all seems to be set up correctly. The Win7 PC connects fine and authenticates but I am not able to see shared drives on the server. It says it is connected with PPTP, I would prefer SSTP. How do I enforce SSTP as the default connection type? I tried this from the VPN client and it wont connect at all.
get my localhost/ server to be visible to everybody via my external IP.
Things you may need to know:
-I'm running WAMP server, and Apache is installed and running.
-I have no firewall.
-I've forwarded port 80 (HTTP) in my modem and my router configurations. (Netgear WGR614v8 Router & Embarq EQ-660R 660 Series modem)
-I've tried several DNS Hosts, none of them have worked.
-I'm not too sure about the configurations of the WAMP server, though.. here's the file (nothing is edited)
Code: # # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See <URL: for detailed information.
I've had the DIR-825 router for more than a year now and I've never once been able to see the second SSID that broadcasts at 5Ghz. I've set up both bands with identical settings and I have a wireless N network adapter in my laptop, but it only ever sees the 2 Ghz SSID, never the 5 Ghz one. Shouldn't I be able to see it?
Cable modem linksys WRT320N router Dlink 10 port gigabit switch 3 wired desktops networked printer/scanner external D Link Share Center 3 wireless devices
I cannot see the share center Drives on my laptop unless I plug in. Would I need to simply plug the storage drive into the router instead of the switch? Will that affect the rest of the network?
on another note, what is the best way to test my computer to computer connection speeds?
Previously, I didn't have problems connecting to my office's wireless router as my laptop automatically connects to it when I turn the connection on. Then, for a few weeks, my computer could no longer connect to the said network. It really puzzles me on how this was the case when the laptops and other devices of my other colleagues can connect to the same network, so has my smartphone. When I was doing field work, I usually bring along my laptop and I found out that it had only a specific problem on my office's router since I can connect to other wireless networks. I searched over the net for any possible solutions; I rebooted the router countless times but to no avail. I made sure that I didn't get the encyrption key wrong all the time. I even tried to connect my computer directly to the router using a cable and tried to access the router interface via the web browser; but it couldn't connect. I then tried pinging it on cmd, and it only prompted a "time-out." [CODE]
At the company I work for, there are a few "network drives" to which employees are given access so that any mutual file stored thereon may be shared between and edited on demand. Not the best model, I know.Went to the server room a few minutes ago and found that "network drives," (P:), (L:) and (M:) seem to be invisible. Back at my workstation, I opened My Computer and saw all three on my screen.
I have a small mixed peer-to-peer network comprising 2 Win7 PCs, an iMac and a Win7 laptop and 2 little file servers: a Netgear Stora and a LaCie-2big.Stora is correctly listed under the Network part of Windows Explorer, but LaCie isn't, although I have been able to map a drive to a share on LaCie.No problem accessing files etc.Why would the LaCie not be displayed in the Explorer file tree?
I have a HP laptop which is shared on my network using the Windows 7 Homegroup settings. I have set up the homegroup to share the media files.
Laptop:
HP DV7TSE/Core i7/8 GB/2x320GB HDDs Wirelessly connected to my home network
Network streaming devices:
Sony BDP-S570 Blu Ray Player WDTV Live Both connected through LAN to the router
In my Laptop homegroup & sharing options I have only shared the music, video, & pictures folders. I have set the D drive (separate HDD) as not to be shared. However, when I am browsing the folders on the streaming devices it shows some folders of my D drive which don't even exist anymore. Initially when I set up the drive D drive was visible. However I later changed the settings to unshare the D Drive.
I'm using a linksys WRT54GS 7.2 router and I can't get any of the ports to be visible. I've set a static ip, and setup everything according to portforward.com and previous experience, I've never had to get ports to work with either this router or computer, so I can't say if it's ever worked for either. According to [URL] the connection is timing out before connecting.
having recently installed the correct bluetooth module inside our dell insprin1750, all the drivers loaded fine and it said all installed ok, I can see all items in the control panel/hardware list as all ok... not highlighted or anything so assume its all ok. When I click on the bluetooth icon down on the bottom is pops up and says bluetooth is working but not visable to other devices click here to change... which I do, then the problem.... nothing happens after that !
I am unable to add any devices to bluetooth list despite it saying its working ok in hardware properties etc.
My last resort is to restore pc to factory state via re-install of windows 7 but I do not really want to go down this route if at all possible.... I have tried restore to no avail.
I have set up a network consisting of an XP desktop , Windows Home Server Desktop & XP Netbook & router. The network works as it should when the netbook is connected to the router by ethernet. However, when I connect the netbook wirelessly it (the netbook) cannot view the other computers & an access error is returned when trying to access networked folders on the desktop & server. (the desktop can see the laptop though). Disabling the security software made no difference nor did resetting winsock. So the problem lies with connecting wirelessly.
I work as an administrator for a small business (~30pc and a Windows 2003 R2 server ).Recently, we started to have problem with our lan, the network start to kinda lock-up randomly. For example, browsing folders is fine then you switch to one and the explorer window just do nothing (with a loading cursor) and after 4 second everything refresh and work again, then in word or any other program (sometime not even related to network files/folder) you press the save button and it do the same, do nothing for 4-5 seconds then refresh and work again.I'm positive that no process on the server take up enough CPU time to do that, it's not a per-pc problem since everybody is affected when the problem start and when I reboot the server it work like a charm for another day then the problem may restart the next day.Nothing show up in the event viewer of both PCs and the server and we can't find a correlation between the problem and high CPU/LAN usage on the server (at worse CPU is used at 10% and LAN at 2%).Our RAID controller and our SAS HDs are working flawlessly, we're in the process to change our infrastructure anyway but since I can refer to people that may know their stuff way more than myself I though Id ask here.We first though that our switches may be in cause but then why rebooting the server would be correcting the problem ?
I've been trying to set up network filtering, and am having no luck. I'm trying to block certain folders on a NAS (DNS-320). My 8 yo insists that watching The Walking Dead is appropriate. So, I need to block specific subfolders so he can't access them. I would like to keep the NAS available, because there are some ebooks there that he copies to his tablet (Blackberry Playbook) to read. I DON'T want to password protect the DNS-320, because I stream the videos, mainly using XBMC / OpenElec with SAMBA shares. (If not, I can block the table from the whole NAS.) I prefer to block by MAC so there are no IP switches that happen. I also would like to block certain website (youtube) at specific times. Is that possible? Or I can turn off internet for the specified MACs.I wanted to use FREEDNS for the internet filtering, but my providers DSL modem won't keep the changes to DNS server, so that's out.
I recently updated my firmware in my WRV210 router to Version 2.0.1.5 which is the most recent on Cisco's download page. After upgrading the firmware, I found that some of the administration pages do not appear to load correctly in internet explorer version 9.0.5. For example, the ADMINISTRATION -> MANAGEMENT page has data but to see the data, I have to scroll down about 3 pages. All five entries under STATUS do not have any data visible at all which is typical for most of the other administration pages. An image of the Status Router page is inserted below. I have logged in to the administration pages with an old version of Firefox 3.0.14 and the pages are visible. The operating system that I am running is Windows 7 64bit.
I haven't run across any other entries like on this or other sites.
