I need to know if LAG channel groups can be used to increase capacity of media converted links? (i.e. wireless links).For example.. aggregating two 1300 series wireless bridges via 2 switches.
View 1 RepliesI just installed a new 2960 to replace a 3550 this last weekend. All of the fiber media converters will not connect to the new switch. The converters are made by Black Box and Desa. If I plug them into the 3550 they link up immediately. If I plug them into the 2960 there is no link whatsoever. I've tried letting it auto-negotiate and tried turning off inline power on the 2960 with no luck.
View 22 Replies View Related We recently purchased SG300-52s to be deployed as IDF switches of several buildings. We also implemented LACP between it and our core cisco 4503 switch. In the inserted image, the first setup where we used Cat 6 UTP cables, LACP connection worked flawlessly. However, when we tried deploying it using our fiber optic connection and media converters, the LACP won't go up.
I would like to know if you have experienced the same problem and what could be done to correct this situation. Initially, i am thinking that it has something to do with the media conversion from copper to fiber, vice versa. I am searching the web for similar problems but can't find one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install a AIR-BR1310G wireless link between two buildings. I configured the setup in a lab and had everything functioning. Shipped it to the client who is now trying to install it. The radio link is up, but we are having issues with the remote Ethernet connection.The root bridge is connected to a WS-C3560G-24TS (core) switch. The port is setup as a trunk with a native vlan of 2 (our management vlan). [code] if I do a "show power-injector" on the remote radio (no Ethernet link), I get: "Received zero AutoMIB packet from Power Injector, Check to see if CDP is disabled on Fast ethernet" repeating. No other entries. If I do the same command on a unit with a link (root bridge) I get information about "Power Injector Port 0 speed 100Mb/s duplex full link up enabled yes" with a bunch of stats. Similar for "Power Injector Port 1". Power Injector Ports 2-4 as "down" and 5-6 as "disabled". Other than the 3 different patch cables they tried (all straight through) or a crossed cable (try tomorrow when they buy one), is there any other reason the port won't go Up/Up?

To each location we currently have fiber for data (1Gbps) and fiber to transport our TV channels. Am am looking for a device that can take in our TV channels on coax and give me an rj45 ethernet connection so I can plug the unit into a data switch to use our data fiber for everything (if I need 10 units at the central site to do this, that is fine).taking the ethernet back to coax to distribute TV to all of the TVs in the building. This would eliminate me 10 point to point fiber links.

I was able to start it again using the Dell Operating System Reinstallation CD for XP Professional but the wifi (wireless) does not work. Before the crash it had a working wireless connection. It appears that I need to reinstall a driver for it. How can I get a driver when I have no internet connection on that computer? I have tried loading on a flash driver from another computer, but it doesn't seem to transfer. What driver do I need and how can I get it to install on her computer?

I need to design a new QoS policy with focus on the above media services with basic queuing for critical data services. I have read the Media net design guide and the suggested 12-class model will be too complex to start with but I have seen references to start with a 8-class model with the ability to easily migrate to 12-class in the future. The 8-class model meets all of our requirements but I need to understand how this will work with the 4507 queuing model? [URL]
I'm trying to upgrade some of the netwotk in my workplace.To do this I have istalled a 24port Catalyst 3560X switch.I'm looking to link it to my exsisting network via fibre.
I spoke to a local Cisco supplyer who recomended the above switch and an Allied Telesis Media converter.
I cannot seem to get the Allied Telesis unit to connect to the cisco switch.I have proved the fibre link by connecting 2 AT Media converters over the fibre.Do I have to enable something on the Catalyst switch or is the AT Media converter not compatible with the Catalyst switch?
My netgear router kept dropping my internet connection so after some research I bought the DIR-655 router. It installed fine. My computer connects to the internet great and so does my xbox. But now my xbox doesn't see my PC so I can not set up a media center connection. I know it isn't a firewall setting or a setting on my computer because it worked fine with my old netgear router and the router I had before that. I even double checked by turning off the firewall. I have version 2.0 firmware and the settings are out of the box. I assume there is something I need to set up to get this to work but I have not been able to find any answers on the internet. I don't know a lot about networking as I've always used out of the box settings and had success with everything working the way I like.

The objective is to route specific VLAN traffic and the caveat is that I have multiple VLANs with the same network address.
For example:
VLAN100 10.10.10.0/28 VLAN101 10.10.11.0/28 VLAN102 10.10.12.0/28
VLAN103 10.10.12.0/28
VLAN104 10.10.11.0/28
I need traffic going from VLAN100 with a destination of 10.10.11.0 forwarded to VLAN101 and NOT VLAN104.
This task is currently being completed by a multi context firewall and we're trying to decommission the asset.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason today my desktop stopped being able to share media with other computers and devices.I mainly use PS3 Media Server to stream and download content to multiple devices including my PS3, Xbox 360, iPad, and iPhone. Now none of those devices can see the server. I tried restarting it, restarting my computer, and updating to the latest version.I've also tried turning on other media servers like TVersity and Windows Media Player and none of my devices can detect any of those either, so there must be something wrong with my desktop's networking (but it can still get internet). I haven't made any changes to my home network since yesterday (the last time I used my media server).My desktop runs on a wireless network with a Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter, my router is a Netgear WGT624v4, and my cable modem is a Toshiba. I'm using Windows Vista 32bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI added some files to the hard drive which is connected to EA4500 by USB. I went to the Storage--Media Server Tab and clicked Scan All. I turned on the TV and pointed the DLNA Media Server at the hard drive.
The new files did not show up. They did show up a few hours later. Does the Scan button do anything?
Configuring an application using routing mode on cisco ace clients ---asa--3750--cisco ace--- servers behind vip,visa card transaction servers.i am able to setup a vip on ace using routing mode on ACE,as the servers need to see the client ip ,so we are not performing SNAT,this part is working fine,when a request comes from the client ,it goes to the vip and to one of the backend servers ,and the request will be forwaded back to the ace ,as the default gateway on the servers is pointing to the server vlan on ace.but if the transaction from the servers need to go to the visa card transaction servers ,how can we achieve this ,and after fetching the data from visa servers,does the reply will be fwd to the ACE or ASAs directly.

I'm trying to turn off SSH version 1 & 2 to pass PCI compliance. Problem is, I cannot touch the VPN link between the two offices. I'm afraid the PKI certificate used for the VPN will be deleted if i zeroize the RSA key which seems to be the only way to stop the router responding on port 22.
Here is the stuff from the running config related to the crypto map:

I'm only CCNA so I'm not even sure if the certificate or RSA key is being used for the VPN link, but I can't tell from the running config that zeroizing it would be a good idea and not break the VPN. I'm open to other ways of disabling SSH, as we are able to just connect using a console cable. But it looks like denying port 22 with an access-list doesn't even stop the router from responding to the port.
If a Supervisor 6-E will support NetFlow on a Catalyst 4507R-E?If not, what are my options for NetFlow on a 4507R-E?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can see the console on the router. (Using the USB console connected to a Macintosh.) I was configuring the router though this console connection, and I created a new user (priv level 15) and removed the default 'cisco' user. So I'm stuck at the username/password login prompt now.
I decided to do the password recovery procedure (via the cisco doc I found etc), but I cannot break into ROMMON during the boot process. I'm not sure if that's because my Mac isn't sending the break, or what.
The pw recovery doc says you can "remove flash" if you can't break into the boot sequence. However, I cannot find any instructions on how to remove the flash. I've opened the router, and I see one very small daughter card on the main board that I think is the flash, but I'm not about to start arbitrarly prying parts off.
My Cisco seems to be stuck when it boots up, with the following:
Upgrade ROMMON initalized
And it goes on with self comperessing image then an OK but then it starts loading again all over.
I have a routed interface on a Cisco 6500 Series switch. I am trying to find a way to adjust the tcp mss.To date I have not yet been able to find a way to accomplish this. Is this just not supported?

View 0 Replies View Relatedwe are using cisco 6509 series switches as core switches. and Cisco 4510,4507 series switches as edge switches. all the vlans are created at core switches and propogating to edge switches through VTP. we are using OSPF as routing protocol at core switch for internal routing. till now we are using 4510,4507 switches as layer 2 switches. Since, 4510 & 4507 switches are hign end swithces i want use them as layer 3 switches instead of layer 2.if i change these switches from layer 2 to layer 3 does it make any impact on our network or better to keep them as layer 2 switches.if i change these switches to layer 3 is there any advantage i will have.
