I'm a networking newbie, but I bought the SG 200-08 switch to do Link Aggregation with and I can't access the web interface. I'm on a mac running 10.7.3, and I've tried Firefox and Safari. I've also tried on a friends PC with Internet Explorer 8.On the mac, I can go into the terminal and can see that the switch has the correct IP address and is seen on both ethernet ports.

Is there a way to change interface numbers on a 3750 stack but, still retain the config of the physical port?
For instance:
I would like to take the top switch, which has the ports numbered g2/0/1 - 52 and change them to be g1/0/1 - 52. And the bottom switch, which has ports numbered g1/0/1 - 52 and change them to be g2/0/1 - 52. Basically, just swap the interface numbers but, not effect any interface configurations.
I am trying to configure 802.1x wired on a 3560 switch and don't see the required commands under the interface. I am running c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE6.bin. I was thinking it might not be available on the ipbase image, but I do have the commands on a 3750g running the ipbase image, so I'm not sure about that.

there is only one sup engine installed and redundant slot is empty.
I installed one ethernet module in the slot 6 and it get detected working fine. I also want to install one fiber module but that module is only supported by 12.2 54 sg or later ios version.so i need an ios upgrade.
For the ios upgrade I decide to do it through svi interface For that i igive an ip address to vlan 1 (192.168.1.2) and plug cable in gigabit 6/1 and added that port into valn 1.
my laptop's ip is 192.168.1.1 @ this point i faced a rare problem the PING IS NOT WORKING.(switch is directly connected to my laptop).
Then i create another VLAN (2) and add that port into vlan 2 still ping is not getting.last thing i tried is that making that gigabit port into a routed port and result is same.
I am trying to make my LAN to work at home. Its pretty small but I am bearly an smart user, noobie if so.I have a Motorola Cable Modem model SB5101 receiving the internet from Shaw Cable.from there I have an ethernet cable to my switch (Cisco SE2500) from there I have two ethernet cables coming out, one goes to my PC and the other one goes to an Airport Extreme so our laptop.I am just here double checking this info... sice this is an unmanaged switch I guess there is no way of accesng an interface to make this happen.I just hate spending the money in something I wont be using just because I dont know whats going on.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a stack of 3750x, with minimal configuration. there are two vlans, and two vlan interfaces with IP addresses. when i ping out from this switch to another host, it picks vlan1's ip address as the source automatically. i tested this by doing two pings with extended options using each vlan's interface as the source, and got different results. how the switch decided to use the first vlan's ip address as a source.

View 4 Replies View RelatedGot a shiny new SG 200 26P which seems to work fine operationally.owever, when I am trying to access the web interface from a different IP subnet, the web brower just times out.If I put my PC on the same IP subnet, it works just fine. From the other subnet, I can ping the switch fine. The default gateway is set on the switch, and from the web interface I can ping and dns resolve other hosts and on the internet. I've tried to create a management profile to 'allow all from everywhere' basically, but still no luck.I'm completely stumped. I've tried to reset to firmware defaults, and I'm now runinng the latest firmware. I woudl suppose that the switch would allow itself to be managed via the web interface from all subnets by default. Any thoughts? The fact that the switch can ping internet hosts makes be believe it's own default gateway and IP are all ok and working.. (and I can ping it from anywhere in my network).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one computer connected to the 4506 that management does not want this PC to have access to anything on our network except our DHCP server and the one printer that resides on our network. I created an extended access list as follows. Our network is the 10.10.x.x and the external addresses the PC needs to access is 11.1.x.x. Once this PC is rebooted, it is unable to access DHCP to get the needed IP address it bounces back to a 169.x.x.x address and stops working.

Then I applied the access-group 2000 on the interface the PC is connected to. What am I missing for DHCP to work and for this PC to always get the ip address that is reserved?
I currenly have a cisco AP1142N configured to work with our radius server (It was already configured when I took over the network). I order two additional access points for building coverage on multiple floors. Currently, I uploaded the config of the orginal access point to the new device and I can access the device via web and the ssid is being broadcasted. I then added in the access point into IAS with the radius secret key to our Radius server. When I go to connec to the new access point w/ domain credentials I am not able to establish a connection. I am not very familiar with CISCO products. I followed a video to get the access point up and running w/ an IP from CLI so I could access the web interface and upload the edited config.txt file. Are there any issues with setting up multiple access points w/ a single windows radius (IAS) server?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a C2960 (sw01) and a C2948. (sw02) The sw02 switch is trunked with sw01, and is meant to serve as an extension to the VLANs (1-4) that exist on sw01. It is trunking properly, however, how would I go about giving the sw02 an IP so that I can access it via SSH? Would I have to create a VLAN specifically on sw02 with an ip and switchport an interface to use it? I know that a VLAN can only have a single IP, but I'd like sw02 to have an IP on VLAN1 (192.168.1.0 subnet), is that possible?

I upgraded a Catalyst 2950 switch and there wasn't enough room so I deleted the flash. The upgraded went well using tftp. It booted up fine. The I0S version includes crypto. But, I can't access switch via web browser or CNA. Port scan shows port 80 0pen. What am I missing?

I have a small cisco switch cluster (seven different 2924, 3524cisco switches) with 3550 as a cluster control which does all the inter vlan routing that works fine.
This cluster is in semi production PBX interop testing lab. This is a closed network without internet access and not connected to our corporate network.However now I have to add this capability so some equipment in the lab can get Microsoft updates over the internet.
I've created a port on a 3550 (fa0/19) and connected it to another network that has internet access. It picked an ip address and when I'm logged in to the 3550 I can ping hosts on the outside network. However I can't ping any hosts on that network from any hosts that are connected to my vlans.I've tried a few different things, but still can't make it to work.

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 and I have my internal and external interfaces configured but I currently cannot ping from the inside to an IP Address on the outside. I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. When I ping 4.2.2.2 for example I get:

Do I need to add a static route from my inside interface to my outside interfaces?

We have a network of 30 VLANS and currently all the vlans have access to everything. We are using Cisco 6509 switch for Layer3 routing.I would like to prevent some VLANs accessing the server VLANs. How can I restrict access to the server VLANs?Do i need to implement access-lists on the 6500 switch? or do i need to create VLANS on the firewall so that all traffic i filtered ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe field engineer has a stand alone 24 port 2900 series switch that he has different equipment connected to and are segmented using VLANs. So for example, he's got ports 1-4 assigned to VLAN 10, 5-12 assigned to VLAN 20, 13-19 assigned to VLAN 30 and 20-24 assigned to VLAN 40. He would like all the gear on VLAN 30 to have the ablity to talk to all of the other VLANS, but VLAN 40 should not be allowed to talk with any other VLAN. Trunking would do no good here since the switch isn't connected to anything and you can only assign one VLAN per port.
Is there a way to do this within the stand alone switch? The only possible way I could think of would be to ensure that each VLAN has an assigned IP number (subnet) and doing this through access lists.
I am unable to access a series of switches connected together through a management vlan. I receive the message "The server xx.xx.xx.xx at level_15_access requires a username and password." Entering the username and password fails and the same username and password message returns. I am able to ssh into the switch with the username and password that fails trying to access the switch with the browser.
How can I check the username and password for access with the browser?
I am trying to monitor switch performance. Is there a good way to monitor switch performance with the command line interface?
