Cisco Switching/Routing :: How Many Route Entries Does 3945E Or/and 3900 ISR G2 Support
Dec 1, 2011I have a question concerning about how many ospf and bgp route entries does 3945E isr g2 router support?

Can Cisco 3945E support VRF-Lite ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying wrap my head around bandwidth guarantee for nested maps. I tried adding a new class to two of my policy-maps today, and got this error: 3945E-1(config-pmap-c)#bandwidth 3000 Insufficient bandwidth 3000 kbps for the bandwidth guarantee
I'm not sure how it knows that with the nested maps and how it's computed. I have a 100mb WAN connectin going to 19 branches. I have a class-map that identifies traffic to the individual branch and within that class, a policy-map is applied to prioritize voice over video etc.
Here's the QoS setup:
class-map Branch1-Policy
match access-group branch-1-acl

I was adding the Video-Conf class to both Traffic-6calls and Traffic-10calls when I got the above error. How would that percentage be calculated? I know by default i can only reserve up to 75% of interface bandwidth. The platform is 3945E running 15.1(3)
The datasheets indicate that the 39xx series ISR G2 routers support AES, but they don't indicate if they handle both AES128 and AES256 in hardware. Via our account manager, we've heard that they only support AES128 in hardware, but not AES256. Given there's no equivalent of an AIM-VPN/SSL-3 module for a 39xx router, this could be a problem for a deployment we're looking at doing.
I can find no document anywhere on cisco.com that confirms that AES256 specifically is supported IN HARDWARE on, say, a 3945E router.
And, if it is supported, are there any performance numbers available for throughput? We're trying to find out if a 3945E is appropriate, or if we need to go with a 7206VXR w/NPE-G2 and VAM2+ module.
i have a cisco router (3900 series) and a add on module (4 x 1 Gig port module). For some reason i cant seem to port channel them and cant do routing (can set an ip address on those ports). I can do port channel and routing on on-board ports. Do i have to enable any commands to do this ?

Does 3900 router has the same features on the PBR? if yes, can it support "source tcp port" and/or "destination TCP port"?

The ARP cache will show the MAC of the previous device and will not update until either the ARP table refreshes dynamically (currenty at default time) or it is cleared manually.
Sometimes I need to clear it manually and sometimes is is refreshed dynamically when the new device comes up. Inconsistant issue....
Under what circimstances will an ARP entry NOT be refreshed when a firewall or firewall NIC is swapped out.
Just a very quick one. Is there any physical limitation to how many ARP entries a 6509 and sup720 can have?

We have two catalyst 3560 switches running c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin They are connected using etherchannel using gi 0/21 - 24 interfaces.
on 3560-1 switch, there isn't any ip-default gateway or ip route configured. It only have 1 interface vlan configured.
on 3560-2 switch, there is ip default gateway configured along with 1 interface vlan.
What i dont understand here is that, i can reach out to other subnets from 3560-1 switch in which the routing is not enabled?
how many sessions a BGP Route Reflector can support? is it 10, 100 or 1000 BGP sessions? What degradation of performance may arise in the case of a BGP RR sessions overload? I haven't got time to test different configurations yet. Just want to quickly ask here about the fall-over route-map configuration. I saw lots of example using pip prefix-list to specify the next-hop for tracking. Is that the only way you can do it? Can you just use a standard ACL to specify that host like permit host 10.2.2.2? ip prefix-list will do like ip prefix-list seq 5 permit 10.2.2.2/32. And you apply the prefix-list to route-map then. ACL will work?

We're running a simple policy map on a 3750 stack (IOS version 12.2(53)SE2), but the route-map counters do not show any matches:
NYKIRDRCX01#sh route-map
route-map remote-route, permit, sequence 51
Match clauses:
ip address (access-lists): remoteACL
Set clauses:
ip next-hop 192.168.101.5
Policy routing matches: 0 packets, 0 bytes
However, I've confirmed via our netflow monitor that the traffic we're trying to send to the appropriate next hop is, indeed, getting there correctly.
I've seen issues in the past with a 3750 not reporting counters correctly.
I try to enter the command "ip policy route-map" on 3750's interface. But the command doesn't appear. Why? Whereas I see several times that this command is possible on this switch. What I have to do to enter this command?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 3750 stack with several vlans and svi's. We have had no need to route between them until now. Here is what I have done...
Created the vlans.. vlan 1 and vlan 25
Given each vlan an ip address vlan 1 10.0.0.2 and vlan 25 is 192.168.5.250
no shut on everything
ip routing
sdm routing preferred
default route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (isp)
If I'm on the switch I can ping anything on vlan 1 and anything on vlan 25 (the device I'm pinging on vlan25 is the svi and a dsl router 192.168.5.1) From a computer on vlan 1 I can ping the gateway/svi for vlan 1 and the svi for vlan 25 but no devices including the dsl router which pinged fine. If I put the computer on an access port for vlan 25 I can ping everything just fine on vlan 25 but not vlan 1 (gateway set correctly)
As a test I put in a static route ip route 195.113.20.11 255.255.255.255 192.168.5.1
I did a traceroute from the switch and it comes through great. I did a traceroute from the computer and it hits my gateway of 10.0.0.2 vlan 1 and stops.
