We currently have 3 different VLAN's, and I wanted to have 1 uplink back to our firewall (ASA 5550) and then let the firewall do the routing between the subnets. I realize that 1 link will carry the traffic twice then, but is that possibly with those switches to have all three vlans assigned to one port and then just let the firewall do the routing between the vlans or would I need to have 3 uplink ports back to the 5550?

I am confused about the cisco docs:What is the minimum WLC/WCS version to support WISM2 controllers ?
The datasheet of WISM2 says "minimum 7.0.116.0"
URL
However the release notes of 7.0.116.0 do not mention the WISM2 module ?
URL
The release notes of 7.0.220.0 do mention the WISM2:
URL
I need to be absolutely sure as there are other software dependencies between 7.0.116.0 and 7.0.220 (regarding required MSE and Aeroscout versions).
With WCS 7.0.172.0 and WLC 7.0.116.0, will we have WISM2 support ?
For many years we've had the following vlan and port security config on our 3560s: [code] This has worked great on 12.2(37)SE1, 12.2(40)SE and 12.2(46)SE. However since 12.2(50)SE, and I've tried all the versions since then, we have a problem with 7900 phones and ATA186s taking upwards of 20 minutes before they can get a valid IP number. The problem on the newer IOSes seems to be related to the inactivity aging. On the older IOS versions the mac address of the voice device appears on the voice vlan straight away.
On the newer IOS versions the mac address of the voice device appears on the DATA vlan and seems to be stuck there until the inactivity aging removes it. It then gets re-learned, sometimes on the voice vlan, and sometimes on the data vlan. If you're unlucky and it gets re-learned on the data vlan you've got to wait until the inactivity time ages the address out again. Repeat until the mac address eventually gets learned on the voice vlan. I don't want to be stuck on 12.2(46)SE forever.
I am looking to install 2 1552I outdoor AP's. I can't find what the minimum code version is on the WISM controller that supports this AP.I am running 7.0.98.0 on the WISM. Where can I find this information?

I need to understand security bundles. I purchased a Cisco Security Bundle, Advanced Security, 64F/256D. part number CISCO3825-SEC/K9. My expectation from this device was that I will get an IOS based firewall with no need for an additional firewall module. however, the supplier is telling me that I have to buy a firewall module to use the feature. Isn't the bundle supposed to come with all I needed since is a bundle?
Is there any command I can use to verify if this device is really what I paid for? what can can I check for in the sh inv and sh ver commands? I don't see any information from these commands.
I'm currently in the process of evaluating potential equipment options for a Core Router/Switch that will be running BGP with several Tier 1 ISP's, the table download from each ISP will be full (300,000+ Routes). I was looking at a 6509-E with dual SUP720-3BXL supervisors but after reading the below link I'm a little concerned by the maximum routes table: [URL]
Do I have to go to the VS based 720 supervisor as a minimum to support full BGP on a 6509-E? Does any experience of the above switch + supervisor combination under a full BGP table, how well does it work? I'm looking at long term using this as a consolidated core (i.e. a VRF for the Global Internet routing table + a VRF for internal data center traffic, plus maybe some more shared VRF's).
Would I be better keeping a Core switch by itself and just buying edge routers to run BGP?

As soon as I plug the router in it seems to give all the bandwidth to one computer and the rest of the campus slows down to a crawl.I turned on "fair-queue" and even tried the QoS wizard in CCP, but it seems like thats if you want to prioritize voice over data - which we aren't running VOIP so I don't need.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an environment of 3 X 3560G of which I have 1st switch-CORE(f0/10) connecting to the VPN router(CE) interface-f0/0. Remaining 2 Cisco 3560's(Access) are connected to Gi0/1 and Gi0/2 on the 1st switch-CORE via gi0/1 . On all three switches I have created multiple VLANs and assigned ports to these VLAN. The switch to switch connection is trunk allowing all VLANs created on all these 3 switches. Now the issue is how I am going to have all these VLANs routed through single interface on the routeri-e f0/0, as all these subnets will communicating to remote site over VPN. What should be default gateway on the 2 Access switches and the CORE switch, also what static route should be on router to reach all subnets(VLANs) created on these 3 switches.
I have read inter-VLAN routing i-e creating sub interfaces on router but dont want to proceed with that and looking for any other way to have my VLANs talk on all three switches and then are accessible to remote site ove VPN?
Between our hosting and a customer we have an extended vlan, traveling on a fiber, between two cisco 3560 switches. The thing is, that we want to create one or more vlans inside that extended vlan, in some way if possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two networks at two sites with a dot1q trunk between the two L3 switches at both sites (no routers involved)
SITE A - Cisco 3750 L3 - VLAN ID 50
10.10.50.0/24
SITE B - Cisco 3750 L3 - VLAN ID 50
10.20.50.0/24
I would like to extend the SITE A VLAN to SITE B so that I can move hosts from SITE A to SITE B without needing to change their IP address but the vlan ID is already in use. Obviously the easy solution is to change the VLAN ID for one or other of the sites but both sites contain hosts that run 24/7. Is there a way to join two VLANs with different IDs together. So for example I create a new VLAN 60 at SITE B and associate it with VLAN 50 at SITE A.
i need to solves this little problem on 2960S lan BASE but i dont know if it is possible.
Uplink port config for gi 1/0/28 is:
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk alloved vlan 10,11
but on interface gi 1/0/1 i want to have data from vlan 10 tagged as VLAN 20.
At this time i have solved this issue very primitively
I have set up gi 1/0/2 as int mode acces, acces vlan 20 and i have connected gi 1/0/2 with gi 1/0/3 with eth cable. int gi 1/0/3 is switchpor mode acces, switchport acces vlan 10
I have a 3750G switch in my production network that only has VLAN 1 on it. All ports are in a default state and VLAN 1 is disabled. The switch is passing traffic but shouldn't having the default VLAN shut down cause the ports not to pass traffic? If I start to create VLANs will that cause the switch to stop passing traffic?

I followed the case study 11.4 from [URL] and configured the l2tp-class and pseudowire-class. However, the vlan interface configuration is different on 890 router.
I configured a vlan interface as follows.
(config)#vlan 200
(config)# interface FastEthernet 0
#shutdown
#switchport access vlan 200
(config)# interface vlan 200
I don't see the 'xconnect' command in this context. What's wrong with my configuration?
We have a low bandwith (15-20 Mbit/s) to the ASA from our Client vlan. If i connect the Client to the same vlan as the ASA is, the bandwith (90 Mbit/s) is good.
Here are the Layer 3 Design:

One or more specific prefixes could not be programmed into TCAM and are being covered by a less specific prefix, and the packets may be software forwarded I first get the idea that the switch is overloaded with router traffic. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm facing a problem with two vlans. Each vlan has internet access by NAT.
In each vlan there is at least one server, who should be accessible from the other vlan and vice versa.
The function "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface" doesn't work, because NAT control is in place - so an expert.
Some experts told me it's not possible to route back out the same interface, and also not route back out the seperate subinterfaces as well.
