old laptop (Dell Inspiron 8000) which works on his Linksys BEFSR41 router, but it will not work with my RVS4000 router. My desktop works with my RVS4000 router, and I have tried connecting the laptop directly to my router with the cable I use for my desktop (as well as a different cable), but the laptop will not work (it says my network cable is unplugged). The additional ports on the RVS4000 are black (the green LED lights won't turn on). My desktop works using different RVS4000 ports, but alas, the laptop won't. I have rechecked the router settings, tried disconnecting the cable modem and the router (to reboot), and unplugged the power overnight, but nothing works. I even tried changing the duplex settings from auto to 100 full duplex which didn't work either.
I have a RVS4000 connected to my cable modem which I use as my gateway, the IP address of the RVS is 192.168.3.254
I have a 2811 with 3 subinterfaces of which I can ping all of them from my PC which at the minute is in VLAN 1, the only network that can connect to the outside world is VLAN 1, how can I enable the other 2 vlans to connect to the internet?
My set-up details are
Router
interface FastEthernet0/0.1 description *** Data Network*** encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
we recently upgraded from an RVS4000 router which didn't have this issue.
the problem; Internal users from Site A cannot access the external owa address. From Site A i can successfully ping both the external/internal IP addresses/names and they resolve correctly, including pinging the address ('mail.company.com") resolves correctly to the external ip address.
Due to the untimely demise of my old wireless adsl router (after an altercation with a destructive toddler), I've bought a new one.Connected it via cable to my laptop, & have set it all up through the wizard. When I'm connected via cable, I can access the internet perfectly well. However, if I try to connect using wireless, it can see the wireless router, asks for password, tells me I'm connected to the router - but it tells me that I'm in a local network only (can't find the internet). I've connected another laptop and a few smartphones to wireless, and they all work without any problem at all.I've done the usual take it all apart & start again, but it still comes back to the same problem. The only thing I wondered was that the new router is Wireless N, whereas the old laptop is a b/g - but we've got an older HTC smartphone that's only b/g and that doesn't have any problems.
My Verizon MiFi can't recognize my Toshiba laptop. The laptop recognizes the Verizon MiFi, but won't accept the password. Toshiba wants $159 to fix this.
The power went out in the room where my desktop and router and modem and everything is located. The electrical outlet that all of those things were connected to suddenly stopped working so I had to relocate everything to the other electrical outlet in the room. Everything is working fine again, including the internet connection on my desktop, but now my laptop in the other room will not recognize my wireless connection. It gives me a list of available networks, but none of which are my own. Which makes no sense, as everything is working as normal on my desktop. I tried to "manually connect to a wireless network" by typing in the name and proper security type/encryption type and password, however it tells me a network called (my network name) already exists, and it says "use the existing network. Open the 'connect to a network' dialog so I can connect." or "choose a different name." When I choose the former option, the list of available networks pops up again but mine is not on there. And it should be, as I'm definitely in close range of my router. [code]....
I have a laptop that I want to sell, therefore I went to somebody to see my laptop and wanted to connect to his wifi. After repeatedly entering the pass for the wifi ,the wifi was still not connecting.
1. My laptop will see his wifi but after entering the pass will not connect 2. The pass is correct because I introduced the same pass on my mobile and I was able to connect to his wifi through my mobile 3 My laptop wifi is working fine because when I went home it connects automatically on my home wifi 4. I tried to open and close his router but I faced same problem.
I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop N7110 my hard drive was corrupted, I have wiped it clean and reinstalled Window 7 I went to dell support and downloaded all the drivers and intalled them in the order dell suggusted. I have no internet. The driver for networking said I did not have device. How do I correct this.
I just did a clean format on my acer aspire 5100 laptop, everything went flawlessly until the last driver - the network driver. I installed the Atheros WLAN wifi driver and it installed fine. However, it showed a bubble in the task bar saying "Wireless networks detected, click here to connect" so i clicked the bubble and the network connection tab popped up, but it says "No wireless networks were found in range". I don't know what to do, it is recognizing there are networks in range, and then telling me there aren't and none pop up in the list.
The network adapter is: Atheros AR5005G and it is working properly
Edit: I can connect using ethernet, it's just not showing any routers in the network list to connect to
I have a Compaq presario CQ61 laptop running windows 7 and since my boyfriend installed a new netgear wireless router I haven't been able connect to the home wireless network. I have no problem connecting to public or private wireless networks at my house or elsewhere. Also, my boyfriend and his roommate have no problem connecting to the network on their laptops. It is a WPA encrypted network. I have also tried shutting off the firewall on my computer without any change. My laptop doesn't even recognize the network - i tried to manually add the network to my computer but it still won't come up on my list of active networks.
I reset my WAP54g v3.05 to factory default to allow an older computer access to my network.
Now I've reinstalled it for better security using my newer laptop: no SSID broadcast and encryption set for WPA2-personal. However, when I enable Mac filtering and permit my newer laptop, the WAP54g does not recognize it.
Disable Mac filtering and my laptop is back on the network.
Set up our E3000 following the set-up guide. However, wireless devices (laptop, iPhone) recognize the network, but cannot connect. There's no prompt for a password or anything.
One moment the laptop was using the wireless connection from the router in our house and the next it lost internet access and then wasn't able to recognize the SSID or connection at all on the available wireless connections. We have reset the router and restarted the laptop countless times yet the only internet access we have is on the computer the router is hooked up to.The wireless connection works neither on the laptop nor the Wii, both previously works merely hours ago and with no problems until now.We assume there is an issue with the router itself, whether it be a loose ethernet cord (which only faintly can be moved in its place). It's almost as if the router is stopping them (Wii, and laptop) from having access. When we explore the wireless internet properties on the laptop, it shows the wireless connection, yet only there and doesn't give access to it. Could it be the router, or could the company have restricted WiFi only to the computer it is hooked up to?
I am using 2 vpn-routers RVS4000, to interconnect 2 hybrid telephone IP-PBX. After configuring the VPN the head offices are not seen in network. The VPN is active in windows.
IP-PBX works correctly in te same LAN. I understand that the problem is that I do not find how to indicate the router to send de UDP packets to the correct IP thought the VPN.
I'd like to simplify my setup a little bit, but unfortunately I'm not sure how to do this.
I have a triangle of CSB RVS devices, 2 RVS4000, 1 WRVS4400 each router has a gateway to gateway VPN with the other 2, so from any of the 3 sites, you can access the resources on the other 2. It also works well, that if for some reason one of the VPN legs goes down, it routes through the other router. atleast It appears to work that way when tested.
I have 2 laptops that go around, Mine and one at the office. If either of these are off site and connect to any of the routers through the QuickVPN client. they can only see the resources on the router they connect to. How would I be able to connect in to 1 router, and be able to access resources on the other VPN'ed routers?
Is there any way to granularly allow hosts from one vlan to be able to access another vlan with Inter-VLAN routing DISABLED?Can the use of an ACL override the setting? In general I don't want any traffic between VLAN's but there are 2 hosts on one VLAN that I would want to allow access to a server on another VLAN.
Ports 1 through 3 are configured for VLAN1 and right now I have one PC connected directly to port 1 and nothing connected to ports 2 or 3. Port 4 is configured for VLAN10 with a managed switch (also configured on VLAN10) connected to it. There are 4 wireless access points connected to the switch.
On the Setup->Advanced Routing page of the RVS4000 I have the Inter-VLAN Routing option set to Disabled. Yet when I connect to one of the wireless access points and receive a 192.168.10.x address, I can ping the PC connected to port 1 which has a 192.168.1.x address.
Also, I would like VLAN10 to not have access to the Management GUI on the RVS4000.
I have two 2950 Switches and am trying to connect via my laptop. My laptop doesn't have a serial port so I am trying to connect through the ethernet port, with a straight through cable and on the end as it goes into the console port I have bought a cisco console rollover adapter. When I turn on terra term I get nothing...just a black screen and it disconnects.
I am running windows xp sp2 on a pc, a wireless modem 2wire model 2701hg and a laptop with windows vista. My pc had a virus that required reinstalling windows xp. When I did that my pc came up with an ethernet connection instead of reconnecting into the wireless network. I cannot get the pc back into the wireless network with the limited knowledge I have. When I look at my "system summary" on the 2 wire website I can see my pc listed twice, once with the ethernet connection and once with the wireless connection but labeled "inactive". How do I get my pc back onto the wireless network?
I can't connect to the internet on my desktop pc after I reinstalled windows. I have linksys wrt320n router and I can connect to it only by wi-fi. When I try to install router's setup wizard or network magic - it writes that my computer is not connected to router though it is connected in the same way as it was before. In the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION it is also written that network cable is unplugged...I also tryed to connect just internet cable without router - PC also didn't react. Maybe the problem is that my network adapter (nvidia nforce) is without appropriate drivers? Cause I can't find drivers for nvidia nforce networking contoller for windows 7
I have 2 4402 WLC's and am in the process of deploying 1042 APs out to sites. But The AP's wont recognize the WLC. I have configured the DNS for CAPWAP but still no dice. I have had to serial into each unit and give it a static IP and then I can see it on the WLC. Shoulsnt this be automatic?
I have a toshiba satellite p25-s520 and running windows xp sp3 and I cant figure out how to get it to recognize a wifi setup?? I called toshiba and went through explaining and she said it was a configuration issue and she was going to put me through to her tech so he could fix this remotely and last minute she said i had to purchase a warranty, i said ill figure it out on my own,
The main computer received a virus and I had to reinstall the operating system. When I did, however, all settings disappeared. The lights on the modem and router are fine, and the secondary computer has full access to the Internet. I also can use my Wii with the Internet. I tried setting up the router again but the main computer won't load the web-based configuration utility page. The secondary computer, however, can. I tried plugging the modem directly into the computer but the computer didn't seem to recognize it either. I bought a new router, thinking if I got software it would automatically set everything. However, the router I received came with zero software. I plugged it in and the computer still couldn't connect to the config page. I am at a loss as what else to do here.
My old router is a Motorola WR850G and my new one is a Netgear WR614 v9. Either would be fine to use, as long as I can get both computers to connect. The host computer has XP and the secondary Vista.
I have an IBM R-40 thinkpad that I restored to original with the IBM icon and then updated it to a service pack 3 and updated anything that popped up. Now it doesn't recognize any wireless at all. I tried the FN,F5 still no luck. It has a INTEL card, Model WM3B2100 in it and it worked fine before the restore and update.
Our organization uses controls to verify a client is running Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x or 12.x on a user's machine before allowing them into the network. On Windows hosts, this works fine, however our preliminary tests on Mac OS X 10.8 hosts display an error that Symantec services aren't running/virus definitions are out of date (both incorrect statements on the Mac host as the definitions are current as of today and the service is running). Is there a known issue regarding this, or are we missing something in the VPN controls to allow Mac clients to authenticate? Here's the relevant versions involved:
Mac OS X 10.8.2 CiscoAnyConnect 3.1.00495 Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1989.1989 (12.1 RU2 Beta 2)
When the router boots up, the boot loader keeps telling me it does not recognize the card and wait until it fully boots to see the revision on the card, but I can not see the revision on the card because it is unrecognized.
What boot loader I need to get the 7204 to recognize the card?
