View 1 RepliesI have found that the Catalyst 2955 series switches do not use an external MODE button for getting a switch into the switch: prompt, but they use a break sequence like routers do to get into Rommon state URL
So I was wondering if there is a similar mecanism that applies to other kind of Catalyst switches, like 2960, 3560 or 3750.
I'm having trouble getting a stack of three sge2000 switches to connect together and NOT reboot. Two of the switches are older Linksys sge2000s and they stack well together, but as soon as i connect the new Cisco sge2000, it will make them both reboot sequentially, even though it detects that it needs to be #3 in the stack.SW 1 port 24 is connected to SW 2 port 12 and they function correctly (both of the linksys switches). The documentation states they should be connected in a ring topology so I first tried completing the loop with SW3 (the newer cisco sge2000). When that had the aforementioned troubles I just connected SW2 port 24 to SW3 port 12. Still forcing the switches to reboot.I SUSPECT it may be a firmware/software issue, but I wanted to check if they'ed even work together.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a C2950-24 switch, with IOS 12.1(22)EA12 release. When I try to connect in console mode, I can see the "Press RETURN to get started!" message, but it's not possible to me to have the # prompt. An "authorization failed" message is displayed. And the same message is prompted.
I try to recover password by following the recovery procedure. After the boot command, I never see the message "Continue with the configuration dialog? [yes/no]: ".
I am using radius authentication on C4507R+E with supervisor card 6L-E and IOS 15.0.2(SG1). It works perfectly but all radius messages appear in the console. Radius is very verbose, I can't use console because of the significant number of messages and I am worried about switches performances. I add that all debug commands are disabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2691 router with following config
line console 0
login local
password xty
When i remove the login local from the line console i connect to console port and press enter it shows router prompt 2691Router> but i am unable to go to enable mode.If i telnet to router then i put username and pw then it goes straight to enable mode.
vty config is
line vty 0 4
exec-timeout 600 0
logging synchronous
login local
length 500
transport input telnet ssh
escape-character 3
Any reasons why i can not go to enable mode by console?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a a Cisco SGE2000 switch and when connected to it via console cable, I was introduced to "Switch main menu" which was kind of a GUI interface. I found a way of accessing what is called a lightweight CLI (lcli). After having a few searches on google it turns out that this switch doesn't have a proper CLI. Is this possible at all? I thought that all managed switches have CLI?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently aquired a Cisco SGE2000 switch and the first thing I did was update to the latest firmware and change password. Now I cant login? Neither my admin / admin dosent work nor the new user I have created. Is there any characters that this dosesnt support like backslashes or forward slashes for password? If not then what can I do to get access to the switch again?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just want the switch to be quiet so that I can perform some network testing with only the connected hosts showing up in my traffic analysis program. But every 30 seconds or so the switch sends out an LLDP packet. This switch is only used in the lab for running tests so I know I don't need the LLDP feature running.
This article explains how to disable LLDP globally on a Catalyst switch, but I can't find any option to disable LLDP in the SGE2000's configuration menus.
I was handed two SGE2000 24-port 10/100/1000 switches. The default IP address does not work on either of them. Short of doing a hardware reset, is there an IP discovery utility that I can run.how I can find the IP?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecieved this unit from an individual who has very little knowledge (like myself) with the 800 series.
I'm having issues just getting into this device, when I power it on and console into the unit i am presented with an "Access Verification" prompt that requires credentials that I do not have/know.
At some point (not sure how) I managed to get to a "yourname#" prompt at which point I configured using this document here and created a username and password and some other basic settings, I saved the config and did a reload and it takes me right back to that "Access Verification" prompt.
Sould I be using the CCPE to gain access to this device instead? Is there a way to recover that "Access Verification" username and pass? How did I ever get to that "yourname#" prompt?
I recently configured a cisco 3750 switch for a stand alone network here at work, and on all our other switches and routers we use ACS to access everything. This switch being a stand alone I dont have that option.
So being like that I have to create everyone in the shop a username and password. Is there a way to prompt the user to change their password on their first login like you would with windows or such?
We are replacing two 3750E switches with 4500X using cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.03.02.SG.15111.GS2
1. is there a command reference available for this ios - can't seem to find out
2. Im using GLC-T gbics and we normally would set the speed to either 100 or 1000 now that option does not seem to be available.
3. when I entered username etc. I got a message " CLI deprecated soon".
I do not have the option to run sh mls qos commands. I am trying to look at the cos-map on my 7200 router. The code I am running is c7200-p-mz.122- 25.s9.bin.I also do not see the mls qos command listed globally and it is not an available command in config t mode.

configuration of NAT on an ASA 5520. On the ASA I have 1 x WAN connection and 1 x Internet Connection as well as the Inside and DMZ. I want to translate traffic from certain subnets on the inside (say 10.1.2.0 255.255.255.0) to an outside address (say 1.2.3.0 255.255.255.0). I'm assuming the ASA using the number after the brackets to distinguish what to translate? So if I had another entry with a '2' after the brackets, any of the '1' entries wouldn't translate to this? I have access-lits inbound on the INSIDE interface, I'm assuming these are applied before any NAT and only items allowed through the access-list are allowed to NAT?
I also have an address I would like to statically NAT with a certain port number, how do I do this? After I've configured this, what are the commands to apply NAT on the interface?
I just started a evaluation license for IP Base on my 3850 switches. But i can't configure HSRP cause the commands are not there (I rebooted allready). Do you need enterprise for HSRP on the 3850?
