I'm trying to configure scp for secure configuration backup. I've configured the SCP server with an account and password but, I keep getting the no such file or directory error

I configure HSRP on Router 2951 as a primary router, and Router 2811 as backup router. But when I am switching off my Primary router the backup router is taking 2 mins to take over form primary router.
My company uses Cisco 891's in replacement of the 1811 where we would have DBU used via an external modem and a triggered time of 3 minutes after a primary connection failure was identified. In testing the 891 in a Layer 2 failure environment, it is within milliseconds that the v.92 port is engaging after the layer 2 failure. Has anyone been able to get it to attempt at a more than millisecond rate?
Redacted config from router: ip sla 1 icmp-echo <%= probeIP1 %> source-interface GigabitEthernet0
I am replacing a faulty sup720 on a 6513. It s the backup/hot not the active sup. It has the same IOS on it. Is it correct that all I need to do is remove the faulty and replace it with the new sup and do a wr mem? Fromwat I have read their should be no down time all connectivity should remain stable?
my 2970 having intermittent problem. i would like to swap with my backup switch WS-2950T. when i try to configure the 2950 following the 2970 config, i unable to perform this command "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q". does 2950T does not support this command??
Just purchased a SG300-52 and am trying to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.2 but cannot get the Upgrade/Backup Firmware Language page to load in the web browser interface. I have tried IE 8 and 9, Firefox 3.16 and 10.02, and Chrome from Windows 7 and XP Pro systems also tried FF and Chrome from Ubuntu system. The page just never loads - doesn't show anything. The same is true of the Download/Backup/Configuration/Log page. The other links under Administration > File Management seem to work fine.
how to configure a backup route to the internet. My client has 2 ISP and basically they want to use 1 ISP and in case the ISP fails, use the other one as backup route to the internet.
The problem I’m facing is that each ISP is plugged to a dedicated ASA 5510, so 1 ISP in one firewall and 1 in the other. Both ASA are plugged to an internal network in a dedicated VLAN with a L3 switch and that L3 switch manages the internal network.
My question is, how can I tell my switch to use ASA1 to go out to the internet and in case the ASA 1 OR THE LINK TO INTERNET used by ASA 1 fails, use ASA 2? It would be great if I can send traffic to the internet thru both connections at the same time. Also, I know the ASA has High Availability configuration, but that applies only if both licenses in the devices are the same and I have a mismatch with the SVPN license, and also I don't know if with my current topology I can use the High Availability model, so I think I can’t use that option and the solution must be applied in the L3 switch, but I don’t know how to tell it to use ASA1 and if failure of the device or the outside interface plugged to ISP 1, then use ASA2. Besides, I would like to know how to optimize this config to do the switch between internet connections seamless to the users if possible (there are VoIP calls on this floor, so I don't want to drop the calls).
use PAGP as backup for wireless link with another wireless link.
__WiFi________ PC-------Switch 1 Switch2---------- PC __WiFi________
We are using 2960 series and from this reason we cant use L3 PAGP I dont know how is PAGP working. If it is checkung port status (UP/Down) or there are some specific L2 packet between etherchannel ports in group?
Here's my problem. I'm going to be using Cisco 1941 routers at a bunch of remote sites. All of these sites have 2 comm paths out. Some of them have 2 IP/VHF radios and some have 1 IP/VHF radio and a copper link using Patton ethernet extenders. From the VHF radios the data hit our MPLS network back to our HQ and the sites with copper go directly back to our HQ. Everything ends up at a Cisco 4948 switch. The problem I'm having is that I want the routers at the remote site to use one ethernet port (G0/0) as the primary and the other (G0/1) as the backup interface. I've tried the backup interface command but the problem is that depending on where an outage occurs the ethernet link to either the radio or Patton stays up so it never switches over. We're using OSPF as our routing protocol and I'm sure there's something that can be done with it but I'm not sure what.
I thought I saw a post/question in regards to "how to" configure a Broadband backup for a MPLS circuit.. What I am trying to do is use a cable/dsl/ broadband (secondary) connection as a backup to a MPLS circuit (primary). I have EIGRP and BGP configured on both the branch endpoint and the tunnel headend. The tunnel is used by the interface that connects to the secondary circuit. The branch location router is a 1841 and the "headend" tunnel router is a 3825. I am wondering about the configuration/syntax of a "weight" or static route that can be used to have data flow over the tunnel when the MPLS circuit goes down - and then switch back to the MPLS circuit when it comes back on line.
Cisco ACS 5.x appliance? How to back up Config? What is best way, via TFTP? COPY Startup-config tftp:?COPY Running-config tftp:?I currently use Solarwinds CatTolls to back my Cisco Switches, can I use this for Cisco ACS also?
I'm having problems configuring an asa 8.2(1) with a backup isp. I followed the asdm instructions in this document: [URL]
I have my backup interface configured as DHCP and the static routes set. Pinging the gateway and other external IP address from the backup interfaces works normally. I have also tried configuring the backup interface as a static address but got the same results.
When removing the primary wan link, all traffic stops. When I ping a external DNS, I get these errors in the log: portmap translation creation failed for udp src inside: 192.168.13.23 dst backup:220.127.116.11_type 8, code0)
I though this type of error is related to a NAT problem, not sure where to look though.
I'm busy on configuring the backup of the configuration from Nexus switches 5K and 7K.I have installed COPSSH on my windows server and try to confiugre the sftp credentials. [code] I have tested from the CLI from the switch and i have the issue but if i use the default vrf 'default' it works fine. How can i change the command sent by DCNM to the Nexus in order to specify vrf default and not vrf management ?
Is it possible to create a job what automatically export the devices configs that are in the folder CSCOpxfiles medemushadow? It would be wonderdul if CW could export the .cfg files into a .rar and send in email or something like this.
I recently tested the process for a customer of defaulting a Cisco WLC to factory configuration and then restoring the configuration from Cisco NCS. It was not seamless to say the least and I wonder if I have just gone about it the wrong way.
Have have set the NCS platform to configuration sync with the 5508 controllers at 04:00 every day and prior to the controller defaulting I ensured that NCS also reported that the config was in sync. I have also set NCS to complete a tftp backup of the controller every night 23:00 - interestingly though I have no idea where this is stored on the NCS platform ( a VM appliance ) or what it's file name is.
Anyway my experiences where as follows:- 1. defaulted WLC and via serial CLI ended up at the configuration wizard. 2. Set the correct LAG, management IP, host name that NCS knew this controller by. 3. To test things just created a dummy WLAN ( SSID ) as I assumed this would be overwritten ( big mistake ! ).
At this point I connected the controller to the network and tried to restore the configuration from the config sync version.
First problem - you have to remember to set up the SNMP community string you were using as it is needed by the configuration sync process. After adding this to the controller I could push the configuration to the controller.
Second problem - failed to add the first WLAN from the backup as I have added the temporary dummy W LAN via the wizard and NCS reported a conflict. So had to delete WLAN ID 1 from the WLC GUI directly and then the config push no longer reported this error.
Third problem - for some reason did not add the TACACS server details - reported the error that it could not added them. I manually added these via a template via NCS and all was well.
Fourth problem - all but the first WLAN was in the disabled state - had to re-enable all of the WLANs.
Fifth problem - any default items I had disabled or removed have not been saved - therefore I have removed the public and private SNMP communities - but these were still on the WLC after the restore. I have disabled unused ports not in the LAG as they show an error in NCS - these where not disabled after the restore.
So all in all not a very satisfactory restore process from NCS to an defaulted WLC ( meant to simulate to the customer what would be needed if they had to replace a controller due to hardware failure ).
I have a Cisco LMS 4.2.1 on a Windows 2008 Server R2 platform and I would like to backup the configuration of my WS-C4503-E version cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.03.01.SG.151-1.SG1I create the job in Configuration > Configuration Archive > Synchronization and after the execution of the job, I check th status in Admin > Job > Browser: I don't know why the archive doesn't exist. It's a newly install.
