I have got my ccna voice lab configured and is up and running, my switch is configured with 2 differents Vlans (Data & Voice) and the fa 0/1 is configured as trunk port connecting to the CME router. I can telnet or ssh to all the devices on the network but only the switch in not accepting the request the only message I am getting is "request timeout".
View 12 Replies View RelatedI can telnet to switch from checkpoint firewall access port and from switch directly. I can ping/traceroute successfully to the switch. Access-lists 14 & 15 are allowing the traffic I want. The router on the other side of the FW has 2 static routes and a default static route set up.

Not sure of checkpoint firewall config....I have run wireshark when trying to telnet and I get no syn-ack back from remote switch. Just 3 consecutive syn attempts.I have some switches I can connect to and they go right through the 3 way TCP handshake and I cannot find any differences in the configs between the successful connections and the unsuccessful connections.

I have set up a newly switch, cisco 3570C. Its in v15 and the only configuration i did is:
-set up interface ip add. 10.132.16.111
-set up telnet
I am able to telnet within LAN environment. I cant ping or telnet the switch in a WAN enviornment. Is there any setting i should confgure on the switch?
I have a Cisco 2960-S Switch, It is connected to a jack in the building to check the settings, Interface VLAN 1 has an ip, there is a default gateway, Any host connected to switch can access the network resources. But the problem is that I have to use Serial Cable to configure it. I cant ping or telnet into it from any other device. PC's are on different subnets/VLANS.
Basically this switch is connected to a port in a different switch, Do i have to make a trunk?
We have recently purchased SG 300-52Port Cisco Switch to support our Network but they constantly having some bizarre issues or I assume bugs, i.e. we cannot Telnet nor SSH to the switch now, whereas we were able to SSH before, we have set them up for Remote Log Services to get some syslogs and reports but no report have been generated nor logs,
I have done some testing through Wireshark and there are absolutely no reports / logs.We have some real issues with this switch and it’s hard to believe that this is a Cisco Product,

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe got a switch issue here for 4507R-E with two sup6l-e supervisor running sso redudant. and we found that sometimes client can't ping through the local vlan ip add on the switch , can't logon the cli by telnet too. In the direct connected network device such as access switch and ASA , can't ping or telnet the 4507R too. when we made a forceswitch to sso standby supervisor from console , the problem solve and everything get fine . after that, we switch angin back to the origin supervisor , fine too.
before we made the supervisor forceswitch , we had check the system cpu usage is 15 - 20 % from console . also we had creat a new vlan 200, attach the notebook to 4507's vlan 200 port , the notebook can't ping or telnet the vlan 200 ip interface too.

I am trying to access my RV042 through telnet. I go to http://192.168.1.1/sysinfo123.htm?ConsoleSimulation=1
which enables telnet. However when I type my username and password it will not authenticate.
I try to access to WS-SVC-NAM-2 module in the Switch 6509. But is not work although the HTTP port is enabled (I tested with the command telnet @ip 80).
I try telnet access to the module to check the config , but I always the message that the lo gin / password is wrong even though they are valid.
I recently acquired a Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator Series (fairly old hardware) without a manual, and I'm trying to figure out how to 'telnet' or browser into the router to access the IOS. The device has been reset and I am plugged into the console. I'm running Windows 7 and enabled the Win7 Telnet Client in the OS. Can any tell me how to do this or at least point me in the right direction to obtain the user manual for basic instructions?

I found the manual for it after going through some hyperlinks. But when you access the console in the Windows OS, is your network connection supposed to show disconnected, or connected but no internet access?
i have 68 sites with Routers. On each site I have one equipment DIRECTLY connected to the Router that needs to be accessed by telnet port 23.
I have 15 off this sites that the access via telnet to the equipment’s connected after the routers are not working. These sites are using Router Cisco 3925. The other sites that are working are using Routers Cisco MWR 2921.
Both router models are running the same configuration with no filter on it.
The equipment’s after the routers are all accessed directly via telnet without the router. If the router is directly plugged to the equipment the 15 sites with Router Cisco 3925 are not accessed via telnet.
There is any bug related with the IOS version that Router Cisco 3925 is using?:

We've got a SG200-18 switch that is to be used as a workgroup switch in our environment (SW Version 1.1.1.8). Working with CLI on big and mid-range Cisco-gear over the past two decades I'm having a hard time figuring out the following on the SG200:
o) I want to change the Management-VLAN from the default "1" to the management-VLAN used in our environment. Sure enough I created that vlan in the SG200-config, however when it comes to assigning the management-IP and VLAN for the management interface in the corresponding pulldown under "IPv4 interface -> Management VLAN" the only thing selectable is the default "1". (see screenshots enclosed)So how do I set a management VLAN different from 1?
o) How do I enable telnet/ssh-access to the SG200-18 - I'd be far more comfortable with a CLI-environment?
i have 2 questions regarding wrt160nl.

I want to remotely access Cisco 500 switches via TELNET and WEB BASED from a server. I dont know the ip addresses for Cisco 500 switches which are configured as backbone which the ip address assigned on the network is static ip address. Specifically I want to get their configuations inorder to get their specified assigned vlans on the network. I know the ip addresses for their specified cisco 500 switches' gateways. I know that cisco 500 switches can be accesses through web. Is there other ways to solve the problem apart from going onsite and connect to the cisco 500 switches using network cable since cisco 500 swithes dont have console ports?

Each site has an ASA Right now, I am only able to connect to the ASA that is connected to the subnet I am connected to.I want to be able to connect to the ASA that are on the remote subnets on the address of the inside interface.The sites are connected all together by site-to-site VPN.Is there any way I can achieve that without opening the outside interface directly on the Internet?

In trying to make sure it was NOT wide open to the internet (amongst many other problems of setting it up, which I ,may address later if I can actually connect to the thing ever again) I told it to only accept connections from a range of address inside the LAN. Now it wont accept anything except telnet from the LAN.Short of wiping out 6 hours of trial and error configuration and resetting it, are there any other options I can exercise via the telnet interface?
I'm trying to find out if there is anyway to enable telnet access on the WAG120n modem/router .I can't seem to be able to find related info in the support web site for this device. Any info if telnet is even available ?

If so, where does one do this in the ACS device?I have two 4400 series WLC's one is on the same network segment as the ACS, I can authenticate through the ACS on this one. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 891 router I have been testing some things on. I have been able to successfully telnet to it in the past with no problems. Just yesterday I was trying to set an interface to have an IP of 10.10.10.2 which I realized was an IP I had forgot to exlcude from DHCP and it was handed out to the computer I was using to telnet in. So I wrote in the exlcude commands and did an ipconfig -release ipconfig -renew on my PC that had the 10.10.10.2 IP. After the renew I was given 10.10.10.7 (put in a few more excludes).However the release dropped my telnet connection and afterwards I was completely unable to telnet in, getting the error that says I cannot open the connection on port 23. I had made some changes to my entire config beforehand which had it switch to use a new public IP. I never saved the changes and did a hard reset by unplugging the router to get my old config back and see if I could telnet after that. Still could not get in, same error. Well I went through and remade my entire config to use the new public IP. My 10.10.10.7 PC can access the internet, DNS, ping the router, all just fine. Still can't telnet. I remade my line/vty config and made sure it matched up with a config I had on another router. Still can't telnet. Last thing I did was go in and manually clear all open line connections. All that is left is an idle 0 con 0 line that it wont let me close. Still can't telnet.What the **** is going on with this thing? I am completely at a loss to explain why I cant telnet. It must be something in my ACLs that I am missing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Cisco router 851 at my region site. It has five Fa ports. One of them is connected to ISP and has ip address 10.1.1.2 (for example). It also has vlan 1 interface, that has ip address 192.168.0.1 (also for example). I also have Tun0 interface that goes through ISP network and connects to my hub network. The rest of Fa interfaces are swithcable and they are in vlan 1.The problem is that from hub LAN I can telnet to 10.1.1.2 ip address, but I can't telnet to 192.168.0.1. Whereas I can Ping 192.168.0.1 from my hub LAN.
