I set up my daughter's Dell laptop last year to our WRT54G wireless router and I'm trying to connect to our wireless network now with another laptop (a new Dell) and can't find (or remember) my security code or pass phrase. Is there any place on the old laptop that I can access this info? How can I configure the new laptop without this info?

We've got an application that is running on our LAN that is using IP addressing to connect to the server (they refused to use DNS).The server is now being moved to a VM which will be on a different subnet. The supplier is now concerned that there will be a big down time due to him having to reconfigure each device (about 100) with the new server IP. If the server was external I know I'd be able to do NAT on the FW to make this work but can it be done internally on my 6500s? I want to have the devices pointing at their hardcoded IP address off 1.1.1.10 and NAT the destination to the VMware servers IP 2.2.2.10? Is this possible using cisco NAT?

How Stuff Works "How Network Address Translation Works"."This is where NAT (RFC 1631) comes to the rescue. Network Address Translation allows a single device, such as a router, to act as an agent between the Internet (or "public network") and a local (or "private") network. This means that only a single, unique IP address is required to represent an entire group of computers." so let's say 6-7 pc's can have access to the internet using the same IP. doesn't this causes any problems? what if one of those pc's was used fore doing something illegal? how can they spot it later on? or what if 2 or more pc's access (from that subnetwork) access the same website with the same IP?

1. the LAN network (multiple subnets) needs to access server 1(outside) - NAT translation works fine no issues
2. a subnet from the LAN e.g SUB-TEST currently acceses server1 but I need to change it to access TESTserver 2 (outside) instead (temporarily)
I dont want to change the original setup .I am trying to implement NAT on the local router such that
- any traffic from SUB-TEST that enters the inside interface and is going to Server1 then change the destination and NAT it to TESTServer 2
- all other LAN traffic is allowed to go to server 1.
i am using a 1941 router for this

Is it possible to perform static Nat's through an internal network?I have a ASA 5510 with a public outside interface (let’s call it 68.68.68.1), and I have an inside private IP address (192.168.1.2/24). The inside IP address leads to a 4900m with that interface being configured with a 192.168.1.1 (no switching). On the 4900 M I have several VLANs one of them is an internal DMZ of sorts. (192.168.2.0/24). Within this DMZ network are several Web servers which need to be associated a public IP address (68.68.68.x).
Every time I configure a static Nat to associating a public IP address with an internal IP address within the DMZ, packet Tracer on the ASA informs me that the packet gets dropped at the static Nat and I cannot figure out why this is so.Safe it to say my question still stands is it possible to Nat (68.68.68.222 to and 92.168.2.60) given the configuration above, and how would I go about configuring in such the manner above so that I acn apply static nat through the 192.168.1.0 network to reach the 192.168.2.0 network.

In my router I can set rule that all traffic incoming to router's extAddr:8888, is forwarded to my intAddr:8888. But I also need reverse rule that packets originating from intAddr:8888 are translated to extAddr:8888. Can I do that? What technique can I search on google to find more information, because it is not port forwarding. I would calll it reverse port forwarding or static port address translation, but I do not find anything useful in internet searching these keywords.

I have been searching through the cisco docs for a while and i just cant seem to find this info. Can I run aironet 1600's with my wism running 7.0.116? Also, could I run my 1130 series ap's with a wism2? Basically, what is the minimum code level for a lightweight 1600, and what is the maximum code level for a lightweight 1130?

I need a legible radiation pattern graph for the 1140 AP -- the antenna pattern. This is for a wireless deployment application which models signal strength. It needs to be specific for the 1140 AP as the antenna has a Maximum gain of 3 dBi which is different than the antenna gain on the 1130 AP.

1. Cisco Aironet 1040, 1140, 3500i Series Integrated Antennas Diagrams show Azimuth Plane Radiation Patterns and Elevation Plane Radiation Patterns when AP is mounted vertically on the wall (red LED above Cisco logo). So "Zero" on Azimuth Plane points to direction rectangular to AP's case plane (mounting wall plane), "Zero" on Elevation Plane points to ceiling and "180 degrees" points to floor?
2. Radio waves polarization in this case would be linear, in direction from ceiling to floor?
3. If AP would be mounted horizontally on the ceiling, then polarization would be in direction parallel to floor axis X and rectangular to floor axis Y? So induced signal on notebook integrated antenna, oriented rectangular to floor axis X, would be near zero?

I have a secondary router (E1200) on my home network, connected LAN to LAN. I use it mainly for wired connections, and it does work for that. But when I try to access this router through the IP address, I get a page that says only "ACT_IDLE". Occasionally, I am able to access, but I've found no pattern to when the router is accessible and when it is not...mostly not.

Any diagram showing the antenna position or signal pattern from the EA2700? I know that Cisco recommends that the unit be placed "near the ceiling" but I'm looking for more specific information. Should the unit be mounted vertically or horizontally.

I have the BEFSR81 V2 and every day at least one of the ports become inactive and the router has to be unplugged and plugged back in to reset the ports. I was going to upgrade the firmware from version 2.44.2 to the one on the site 2.45.10 but when it is downloading I get a message at the end upgrade file pattern error. There is a problem with the router that the ports go out or will the firmware update hopefully correct that issue and how to I get the firmware to update

Im having this problem at work where im trying to map my folders within our server, i used to be able to do so but as if out of nowhere i couldn't do so anymore, our network support said everything is fine with our server and the problem is probably something with my laptop.
Im using a laptop with windows 7 Home Premium 64bits
My network adapters are:
Intel Centrino Ultimate - N6300 AGN
Intel 82577LC Gigabit Network Connection
Im able to ping my server just fine, left only one of these microsoft 6to4 adapters, tried turning off my AVG and Firewall, sharing devices and printers is enabled, Netbios is enabled.
Oh, and my antivirus is AVG free.

On my home LAN I have computers running Ubuntu 10.10, Win XP, Win7 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit, as well as an Iomega Home Network Media Drive. I can share files and folders between Ubuntu and XP without problem. I can CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) to the Iomega device from all the computers. I can share folders when using the 64-bit Win 7 computer that are located on the XP computer.
I can see the 'users/Public' folder on the 64bit Win 7 computer from the XP computer (but that folder being empty, this access is not a lot of use - a secondary probelm). I cannot see my 'user name' files/folders on the Win 7 computer from the XP computer
From Computer, Network on the Win 7 computer I can see the Ubuntu computer by name (approximately - it's all in upper case, which is not correct as far as Ubuntu is concerned).
I cannot access files on the Ubuntu computer via its name - I receive the usual 'network path not found' error, inviting me to check the spelling of the computer, which I can see is wrong, but which I can find no way to correct.
If I try to access the Ubuntu computer by IP address, then I am presented with an 'Enter Network Password' panel. I have never allocated a network password, so I have no idea what user name or password to enter here. If I enter my valid account name forthe Win 7 machine, along with its valid password, then a Logon failure is reported: 'unknown user name or bad password'. If I use the single valid user name and password for the target Ubuntu computer, I receive the same failure message. I thought I had set the same user name on both computers (I certainly have the same password), but for reasons best known to Bill Gates, the username on the Win 7 computer has been initially capitalised, making it absolutely not the same as any valid user name on the Ubuntu computer.
So, in short, I can find no way to access the Ubuntu computer from Win 7. Further more the Ubuntu computer cannot see the Win 7 computer in the windows network at all.
I have the same internet security software (Comodo) running on all Windows computers. It is enabled on the XP computer. It is disabled on the Win 7 computer - but with no effect on the failure to connect.

I have 10 Vostro 460s, the network cards are not being found on startup. You have to reboot the systems 3-4 times to get Windows to find the Network cards. All drivers are up to date. This may be related to a Windows update, since the machine were fine for a month or so until an Update came out.

I'm trying to test such 802.1x wired environment:windows xp sp3 as supplicant windows NPS as radius server 2960 as authenticator latest anyconnect (3.1.01065) + nam and standalone profile editor.I have a question: What is the difference between protected identity pattern and unprotected identity pattern (set in nam profile editor)? As I understand documentation PEAP-MSCHAPv2 is a tunneled method and it uses un- protected identity pattern to protect user's identity during phase 0. But if I use any fake identity here (anonymous, anonymous@[domain], etc) access is rejected (Access-Reject in switch debugs). I have to use exacly the same pattern in unprotected identity pattern as in protected identity pattern ([username] or [username]@[domain]) to gain access, regardless of authenticaton mode (same in machine only, user only authentication).
