I have an issue witch Cisco VPN-Client V 5.0.06.0160 Remote VPV-Access to ASA 5510 8.2(3)
Evrything works fien but sometimes after about 4-5 Hours the Connection is dropped by the ASA. The Client still prtends to be connected, but there is no connection seen on teh ASA.
I have some remote locations that connect to my ASA 5510 cluster (Aktive/Passive) using the Cisco VPN Client, from which the connection gets disconnected at random intervals (could be 5 minutes, but sometimes after 15 minutes). However, some other remote locations do not have this problem. All locations have the same VPN client configuration (distrubited by pcf file).
I already disabled isakmp keepalive on the ASA but this did not work. If I read it correctly, the Cisco vpn client logging shows that the ASA initiates the ending of the connection.

I've got random connection issue when I try to connect to a VPN gateway through an ASA 5510 (IPSEC client ->ASA 5510->VPN Gateway).
When the tunnel is coming up, those two lines appears in the captured traffic on the internal interface :
<private internal IP>.500 > <destination IP>.500: udp 541
<public external IP>.500 > <destination IP>.500: udp 541
When it's not coming up, the port nuimber for the public IP is not 500
(private internal IP).500 > (destination IP).500: udp 541
(public external IP).442 > (destination IP).500: udp 541
I don't understand why sometimes the port for the public external IP is 500 and sometimes not.
I have configured anyconnect for phone at ASA 5510. Phone can connect to Corporate network through VPN from outside without any problem.
If I connect laptop to PC port at phone, I can run anyconnect client at pc and get vpn connection through phone. Can I get VPN connection for laptop through phone without running anyconnect client at the laptop i.e. can phone share VPN connection for laptop at PC port?
We have one ASA 5510 but we got the error attached periodically for IPSec/SSL VPN connection but i configured timeout connection as none
View 6 Replies View RelatedOur Cisco ASA 5510 running 8.4(4)1 just started dropping packets and our AnyConnect clients are seeing horrible performance. The system is extremely slow compared to just a couple days ago.Nothing has changed on the system. I can post the configs if needed.

I have done a "sho vpn-sessiondb detail svc" and I can see the dropped packets of the individual users, but cannot see why the packets are still dropping.how I can correct this and restore speeds?

Recently I changed it from a domain to a workgroup and now the internet connection drops after about 5 - 10 minutes.When I say "drops", I am referring to the browser can no longer display the webpage. The internet connection still shows to be "Excellent". I even tried pinging www.google.com and it can still ping the website but the browser just stops working. I have tried Firefox and IE.I updated the DNS to use the default primary DNS suffix. The only way to get the browser to re-establish a connection is by rebooting the laptop.[CODE]

When there are many recipients in the emails the email messages are not sent, and I have revised the server an the only thing I see is connecting dropped. When I went to see ASA log and see this log report: ESMTP Classification: Dropped connection for ESMTP Request from 'interface': servername/portnumber to outside: IP address/25; matched Class 2: cmd RCPT count gt 100 tcp flow from interface:servername/portnumber to outside: IP address/25 terminated by inspection engine, reason - inspector disconnected, dropped packet. So I think there should be an inspection of ESMTP packets and if they detect an email message sent to over 100 addresses, then the packet is dropped, am I right? if so, what should I do to let those email messages be sent?

All connected though the same switch, patch panel, etc. Testing has proven that the switch and line is fine.We have a server set up for all of the multifunction printers on property and we simply map the printers through this unit.We have an exchange server for email.File server... for... files. Okay, here is the situation. This IBM desktop will be connected to everything, able to print, email, connect to files, etc etc.Then, or so it seem, will just lose its connection. no email printing etc. She is asked to put in her network credentials again. and usually this works. (it seems that the network dropping out may take up to 3 minuets to fully restore and she tries to put in her credentials too soon).After each event she is able to restart her computer or type in her credentials and get back to work.. after mapping the printer again.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwe got a Sonicwall router and we have been having stability issues. Every 1 minute the TCP connectio is dropped as well as UDP packets. This router is connected to a T1 connection and its requesting a DHCP lease every couple minutes as well. We originally had two WAN connections, and we have disabled the second one because someone thought it was that, but obviously it has to do with the internal network. This is a dual WAN router.

The solution works quite well but exactly every 120 minutes the connection drops and people have to reconnect. Is there any setting to change? In the PPTP server I haven't found any setting to change.

I am not too sure what other info I need to put here.My connection used to drop frequently (around every 5 min) and I would have really slow speeds (10ish kb/s). Recently, for some unknown reason, the dropping has stopped, but now I am getting speeds of around 9-15 kb/s.
The thing that has me COMPLETELY stumped is when I plug my laptop into the router, the wireless speed on my PC speeds up to, according to speedtest.net, 5.8 Mbps. If I unplug the laptop from the router,the speed on my PC slows down to .25 Mbps, yes - POINT .25 Mbps.I have attached the tester .
I've been having a number of issues with performance on my DIR-655 with streaming media, internet connection being dropped and random reboots. Over the last couple of weeks it has been getting worse, to the point where I'm about to act out the printer scene from Office Space but with my DIR-655! It has been rebooting, completely killing WiFi networks and Internet Connection, almost every 20 minutes when I'm watching DivX over the network. The relevent information about my network is as follows:

As an experiment I reconfigured the DSL-380T into PPPOE mode and set the DIR-655 into DHCP Client. This was over 2 hrs ago. So far - no random reboots, no jittering on the Media Center Extender playing videos, no internet drop outs..It seems to me that the DIR-655 doesn't cope well when it has to do the PPPOE network protocol as well as the routing, WiFi and other basic functionality that it should be able to cope with.I'll leave it running as it now is and report back later, but from the dramatic change in behavior I'm hoping that I've finally cracked my perf issues with the DIR-655.
I've had this WRT300N for several years and it has worked very well.It suddenly dropped all wireless connections and no one can re-connect. My main pc is hard wired directly to the router and works perfectly as always. 3 wireless pc's and 3 handheld devices suddenly can't connect. I've powered down my modem and router for several minutes, but nothing changed. The firmware was upgraded a long time ago and there are no other upgrades available.

I've been running this configuration for years so the only thing that has changed is the router.The neworkd is up and all wireless clients can connect, but after some time, access to the mail server just 'freezes'. I say freezes as the nework icon (i'm using ubuntu' still show a connection. In addtion, there are not error in any of the logs. I just seems that the mail server and the router just stopped communication.

Occassionally, we have dropped connections, on both G and N cards.The router is connected to a corei3-2100 cpu with 6 gb ram and a 1tb hd, running win7 64bit. Ive bought home plugs for my wife's computer(in the house)and.an outdoor wireless antenna (a CCRANE super usb wifi antenna) for my computer in the garage. I still get dropped signals in the garage, which is only about 50 ft from the router. I used to have a D-Link router which broke down so I purchased a new router which is a Linksys E2500. I changed the configuration on my laptop to use WPA instead of WEP. My router is configured with fixed channels (not auto). My internet connection is continuously being dropped and I have to re-logon to everything (very annoying with vpn tunnels). All my other desktops/laptops in the house work without problems.

I created a policy for 2 MAC addresses, with a schedule from 10AM-6PM, selected "Block some websites", and disabled logging. Under website filter, I added some entries, and selected "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites". When the policy is enabled, and I try to access one of the blocked websites, it gets blocked correctly ("The URL access was denied by administrator.") However, for all other websites, I get "server unexpectedly dropped the connection" errors, eg "Safari can�t open the page [URL] because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again." or in Chrome "No data received. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data." This happens with ALL non-blocked websites. I'm using hardware version A1, firmware version 1.01NA.

Flashing it with the lastest firmware worked but still, I don't get all my speed as I has with my WPG54GS (with DD-WRT).Second, speed is really unstable, like if it was working by burst of data.Third, I got a gigabit port on my computer, plugged in the router and still, I can't make more than 10megs/sec WIRED (!) between my computers. I desactivate the ipv6 from my network card but still, no luck.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've bought a "WAG160N v1.0 Annex A" almost 2 years ago. I never used it's wireless feature untill we moved our house. Now it's like 4 month I'm using its wifi feature and I've got to admit I'm really frustrated by its functionality!
For months the modem just dropped wireless connection constantly in various time periods. Somtimes it went like 2 days without any problem but some other times I had to change channel every 15 minutes for it to get back working. And yes it didn't get fix until I changed the channel, otherwise clients had to wait several hours for a 50/50 chance of reconnection. Now It's two days the changing channel trick no longer works. I tried all channels and even put my notebook next to the modem but no luck. The notebook sometimes connnects to the access point but disconnects after a few seconds. Somtimes it doesnt even detect the SSID of my WAG160N modem. Some friends suggested that the wireless hardware of my modem is broken and no longer works but I'm eager to know if it is broken why is it still broadcasting and sending signal.
I've tried everything from upgrading and downgrading firmware to turning on and off the modem several times and changes modem position. And even tried the G-only 20MHz mode.We are at a very crowdy place. Using inSSIDer I could pick about 15 other access points. i have a 5510 with a working VPN but discovered that anyone connecting from a public IP can connect to VPN but can't go anywhere.so if i have say a linksys wifi on my cable modem and a private IP i can connect no problem. but if i'm on like a verizon data card which gives me a public IP i can connect to VPN but receive the below errors in my asa logs and can not reach anything on the network.What do i need added to allow remote ends without a nat device to also work?

I am trying now to telnet my call manager on port 5060 and on port 2000.
When i am connected localy i am able to telnet both ports, but when i am trying to connect through cisco VPN client i am able to telnet the port 2000 and not able to telnet 5060. Both ports are on the same call manager.
When using windows VPN i am able to telnet both ports.

I have a VPN client running on a laptop connected a DSL circuit. The VPN client is configured correctly for an external address on another firewall, this external firewall passes through ISAKMP / IPSEC to an ASA where it terminates. The client authenticates and gets an address from the client pool (VPNCLIENTS – 10.2.16.x / 24) and the tunnel completes with no problems. From the internal ASA I can ping any internal network behind the 10.0.3.240 interface (INSIDE) and I have a route on the inside network to get to the 10.2.16/0 clients to point to this address (10.0.3.240). All good so far.
Now the problems begin. I cant ping anything from the VPN clients (10.2.16.0) network to anywhere, I cant ping any interface on the ASA or any internal network. I also cant ping the client from the ASA and therefore not from the internal network either. This configuration is bare bones configuration so I don’t even have the NAT exception rules added. Network diagram attached too.
