Cisco VPN :: 892 Can't Ping My Router On External Interface

Mar 19, 2013

I've had some issues with my 892 router. [code] When match address is set to acl-net12, I can't ping my router on external interface and tunnel is working very bad (15%-20% packet loss). If I change match address from acl-net12 to acl-net12-new then I can ping my router on external interface and vpn si working fine.

I have also an acl (set on external interface) which allow ping but it seems that is not working when acl-net12 is used on crypto map. [code]

Linksys Wireless Router :: 9000 - Can't Ping External IP

Aug 15, 2011

I'm looking to setup a few ip security cameras in my house and would like to monitor from work.  The first thing I did was give the ip camera a static ip on my local LAN 192.168.1.104.  I also forwarded port 9000 to this ip.  I then went to [URL] to look up my external ip address.  I was able to obtain one ip for my router and another for my modem (disconnected router and went direct through modem).

I've since tried to ping my router WAN ip from work numerous times via http://24.x.xxx.xx:9000 and I get timeout errors.  I've tried traceroute and it gets close, but times out the last 3 hops. I've had Comcast on the phone many times trying to resolve and needless to say they weren't able to work.

Linksys Wired Router :: Can't Ping RV016 On WAN1 Port (external IP)

Feb 1, 2011

I am trying to setup an RV016 router to do "1 to 1 NAT". I am starting with setting the external IP address of my RV016 to 10.8.58.219 on the WAN1 port, and LAN IP 10.10.20.254. Simple enough. When I connect my laptop to port1 on the router's LAN side I can ping the router's external AND internal IP addresses fine; But I can not ping from outside when connected through WAN1 port.I am performing a simple local test with an external hub, I put a patch cable from WAN1 port to the hub, another patch cable from port 1 on LAN side to the same hub, and from my laptop to the hub. When I use my laptop's IP address with the internal schema (10.10.20.100 for example) I can ping both WAN1 and LAN IP's; but when I use on my laptop the external IP schema (10.8.58.100 for example) I can not ping it. Therefore is not working when I connect my router to the real network.I went into the web setup pages of the router and dissabled: firewall and basicaly all security "blocks" it has, and leave it open for my testing.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3560G Can Ping Devices In Enterprise LAN But Cannot Ping Interface

Mar 31, 2012

I have a new 3560G to set up a small network for a remote site. I configured the vlan and an SVI as the gateway. The switch is also the DHCP server for the LAN. I configured Gi0/2 as L3 port, connecting to the nearest neighbor. My network runs EIGRP so i advertised the routes into the EIGRP process. The switch forms EIGRP neighbors and learns all routes in the enterprise network. The problems I'm having now are: 1. The switch learns all routes in my enterprise LAN and can ping devices in the enterprise LAN, but I can’t ping any interface on the switch from the enterprise LAN. 2.

Cisco WAN :: 2801 Ping To Router LAN Interface

Feb 7, 2012

I have one problem doing a ping to a router lan interface, I have 3 routers (2801) connected between each other (separated 1 mile each), the link is established trough microwave signals (connected to the 2801 fast ethernet interfaces), every router has a connection to a LAN. One of them is located at headquarters.Last thursday I replace one of the router with a cisco 2901, i configure the router with the same configuration that was on the 2801, i power up the router and the 2 link were up without problems. One day after the noc called me to tell me that after i replace the router they can't ping the router IP lan interface on the new 2901 (before the replacement the ping was sucessful). I called one user the lan connected to that 2901, and they can do a ping to the router's LAN IP address.

I can ping the 2901 IP wan interfaces, I can ping the LAN users ip address, but i cannot ping the router LAN IP address, from my desktop, and neither the 2 routers 2801 connected to the 2901.I show the configuration on the 2901, I couldn't change it because i didn't have time to do that, but i'll change the configuration to use ipsec tunnels. The configuration as you can see, has a crypto map, but the acl used by the crypto map, only permits the interfaces ip address, so i think that doesn't work, so the traffic doesn't get encrypted, but i don't know if that is the problem why i can't do a ping to the lan interface. [code]

Unable To Ping External Home Ip And No Access?

The PC has a static IP and if I access it from another PC on my network I get the WAMP page load as expected.I've also setup an account with no-ip.com to resolve my (dynamic) ip. If I use the address they have setup while I'm on my network I get the login page for the router, again this is what I expect. The problem begins when I try and access my home address (whatever.no-ip.biz) from outside my network. I've tried it from 2 different locations and via a dial-up account and I get nothing.

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5510 / VPN Behind Another External Interface

Dec 23, 2012

i have an ASA 5510 My ISP provides for me 2 separate public networks. One is routable from outside of the world and one is not (and is used as a gateway for the THAT routable network)

Assume that non routable network is a.a.a.a and routable is b.b.b.b so we have 2 interfaces on asa - a.a.a.1 and b.b.b.1 Physically this  network b.b.b.b is behind network a.a.a.a one cable comes to me and plugged to ASA As i said all traffic from/to external(routable) network is going through network a.a.a.a (and a default gateway at ISP) So the problem:For my international partners i need to provide  VPN.So the traffic flow is the following:for exaple a client with public ip 1.1.1.1 using cisco VPN client trying to connect to b.b.b.1 The packet arrives to interface a.a.a.1 and............. Being  discarded.7Dec 24 201211:09:477100051.1.1.162548b.b.b.110000TCP request discarded from 1.1.1.1/62548 to internet:b.b.b.1/10000 I assume that the ASA discards the packet BECAUSE IT COMES FROM a WRONG interface.Am i right? Also i tried to setup a bypas policy, but no effect?

About once a week, it stops working, without aparent external intervention. The ping to the external IP stops answering, and the internal IP stops answering pings also. The solution is power-off and power-on, and it starts working again ...

What is the correct way to debug this situation ?I can connect a HyperTerminal using direct cable to the 871, but dont know the relevant commands to debug this situation.

Cisco :: Connecting Back To Network Through External Interface?

Mar 4, 2013

I have a ASA 5505 configured with three VLANs: Inside, Outside, and DMZ.I am running an exchange server on the Inside network and have configured NAT to allow connections to it from outside. This works fine. I can also happily connect to it using it's internal address from the inside. In the DMZ I have setup a linksys router to work as a guest wifi network. I configured the ASA to block any traffic from the DMZ to the internal network. This has been working fine for the last few weeks.Wireless users cannot access any internal resoureces, but can browse the internet etc.. etc..

My problem is that I want users to be able to connect to the wireless with smartphones, tablets etc..., if they do so, they can access the internet, but not get their email. From my (limited) understanding, the problem is that the ip address I am trying to connect to is the same ip that I am transmitting from. Is there any way to send the packets to the outside network and then loop them back to the exchange server?

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5510 - Two External Subnets On The Same Interface

Oct 21, 2012

I have two ASA 5510 in an active-standby cluster, not that I think that the fact that they are clustered will be of any importance here so feel free to think of it as a single 5510. The internet connection is delivered in a single RJ45 connection. To be able to use it with the cluster there is a simple unmanaged switch connected between the ISP and the ASA's. I have two subnets with public addresses, for simplicity lets call them 1.1.1.0/24 and 2.2.2.0/24. Default routers are 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.1 respectively.

Can I somehow use both these subnets in the ASA's? Im currently using the first subnet and use PAT to direct traffic to internal servers. But if I want to use adresses from the second subnet wont that mess up the routing, since there is no way I can specify the default router for the second subnet? I have as of yet not tried anything, Im just trying to plan ahead and I cant seem to wrap my head around how this could possibly be done.

Cisco :: 2800 Enable SNMP Discovery Through External Interface

May 28, 2012

I'm trying to add some 2800 series routers to our monitoring environment, but I can't get them discovered.

On the Mgmt Server I need to go through a "discovery" process to add the 2800 to the system. For this I target the internal interface ( i) but the discovery fails. I'm assuming the packets are getting dropped on the outside interface (e). I know SNMP is set up correctly and works as I had PRTG installed on a local box (p) for testing purposes.

The intention is to do the data gathering via a proxy agent (p), so enableing SNMP on the outside interface is not going to do me any good. What do I need to do to let those discovery packets pass through? At least temporarily?
