Cisco VPN :: ASA 5505 L2l Tunnel With Easy VPN Remote?

May 25, 2011

I have set up two ASA 5505's (lets call them ASA1 and ASA2) with site to site VPN configuration and i've encountered two problems with my setup.ASA1 has IP 192.168.1.254 on the inside interface and is connects ASA2. It's also an Easy VPN Server for external users to connect through Easy VPN Client.ASA2 has IP 192.168.11.1 on the inside interface and connects to ASA1 Problem #1 None of the ASA's can ping eachothers inside LAN IP address. Computers behind the ASA's are unable to ping the remote ASA's inside IP address. My guess is that this has to do with either NAT or built in security.Problem #2. The Easy VPN clients which connects to ASA1 are unable to access the LAN behind ASA2.

Is it possible with ASAVPNSERVER 5520 and an EasyVPN 5505 Client to have the client do split tunnel to a single public IP address?  Both devices are on 8.2(5) 33.  Could you possible provide sample config for split tunnel?

Cisco VPN :: 877 - Easy Internet Access Without Split Tunnel

Apr 20, 2011

getting internet access via a easy vpn tunnel on a cisco 877 router. Basically we would like roaming users to be able to use the internet via the vpn rather than using a split tunnel. The reason for this is we have multiple sites that are tied down via external IP access lists for some services. We would like roaming users to be able to interact with these sites through the central router and use the routers external IP address to acess the secured sites. I know we can use a proxy but we also use some other non proxy bases services at these sites so would rather direct routed access.

Cisco VPN :: Easy VPN QoS From ASA To Remote 877

Mar 24, 2011

We a remote user set up with a Cisco 877W that connects into a ASA5510 using EasyVPN (remote user has dynamic external IP)

The home setup also has a physical Cisco VOIP phone that connects into a Call Manager Express system over the VPN. The home user cannot hear the other end properly and voice is breaking up when using office apps on the VPN link at the same time (Outlook etc),

We continue to hear his voice OK when he is having these problems hearing us, so I guess the upload of voice from the 877 is fine and not struggling with congestion, so I have not put Qos Policies on the 877 as I guess it can only control what it is sending out and this is already working OK. Therefore its the 877 downloading from the ASA that seems to be the issue, voice is not getting prioritised when other traffic is getting sent down the same vpn link.

I have set up the following QoS policy on the ASA for this link so Voice traffic is prioritized, but the issue still occurs so I guess it doesn't work,

class-map HomeUser match dscp ef match tunnel-group ezvpngroup
policy-map VPNQOS class HomeUser priority
service-policy VPNQOS interface OUTSIDE

Cisco VPN :: Traffic Between Remote Sites Over 2921 Easy VPN

Oct 23, 2012

We have a Cisco 2921 router at the head office (Easy VPN Server) and been deploying Cisco 887VA (EasyVPN remote - Network Extension) for remote offices using EasyVPN. We are allowing Voice and Data traffic over VPN.  Everything has been working great until this issue was discovered today:

When a remote user behind Cisco 887VA calls another remote user also behind Cisco 887VA, the call connects and Avaya IP phone rings but no voice in either direction.

Calls to/from head office and external mobiles/landlines are fine. Only calls between two remote sites are affected. As there is no need for DATA connection between Remote office, our only concern is Voice support.

I think "hair-pinning" of traffic over VPN interface is needed. (Examples configs etc).

Cisco VPN :: ASA5510 Easy VPN Remote / IPsec Session Count

Feb 21, 2013

I recently upgraded our head end ASA5510 at our datacenter from 8.2.1 to 8.4.5. The ASDM was also upgraded from 6.2.1 to 7.1.(1)52. Under the old code, a remote ASA5505 connected via Easy VPN Remote showed 1 IPsec tunnel. However, after the upgrade, it shows 42 sessions. It would seem to me that each split tunnel network defined in the Easy VPN profile is being counted as a tunnel. Is it possible that I may have something misconfigured now that the code is upgraded?

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5505 - Users Aren't Able To Reach Remote Network Through Site-to-site Tunnel

May 21, 2011

Remote-access users aren't able to reach our remote network through a site-to-site VPN tunnel between two ASA 5505's.

I've seen several threads about that here, I've run through the walkthrough at [URL] I've taken a stab at setting split tunnelling and nat exemption, but it seems I'm still missing something. Remote-access users can reach the main site, but not the remote site.

Remote-access (vpn-houston) uses 192.168.69.0/24.
The main site (houston) uses 10.0.0.0/24
The remote site (lugoff) uses 10.0.1.0/24

Cisco VPN :: 876 ISR / Traffic From Easy VPN Client To Remote End Of Site-to-site?

Apr 27, 2011

A user with Easy VPN client connects to a 876 ISR (router A). This router also has a site-to-site VPN to another 876 ISR (router B). What I want to achieve is that the user dials in to router A and can access the network on the remote end of the site-to-site tunnel (router B) In diagram:

user (192.168.18.x) - Easy VPN - Router A (192.168.16.x) - sitetosite - Router B (192.168.17.x)

I have added routes in router B to the 192.168.18.x network with router A as next hop, but I can't reach the other segment.

Cisco Routers :: RV042 - VPN Tunnel Between Two Remote Locations

Jun 27, 2012

I have configured a VPN tunnel between two remote locations using static IP addresses on two RV042 routers. The tunnel seems to work but the problem is that when the two hosts attempt to ping each other only one can successfully ping. One PC with IP address 192.168.1.100 can ping across the network but the second PC with IP address 192.168.2.100 cannot. These are laptops seperate from the intranet used to test the tunnel. Someone had suggested NAT may be the issue so I enabled NAT Transverse on the routers but still no luck. The following is the results from a ping test.

PC 1

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5510 - Web Interface On NAS From Remote Site Across VPN Tunnel?

Dec 3, 2012

I have two routers on my internal network.

10.10.199.106 is a Cisco ASA5510.

10.10.199.108 is a Sonicwall NSA 3500

The sonicwall handles our site to site VPN tunnels.  The Cisco handles our client to site VPN connections.

I have a unit that points to 10.10.199.106 (Cisco) for internet access.  All other clients on the network point to 10.10.199.108 (Sonicwall) for internet access. The device in question, a Synology NAS, is using 10.10.199.68 as it's IP address.

I'm trying to hit the web interface on the NAS from a remote site across our VPN tunnel.  The IP scheme on the remote end of the VPN tunnel is 192.168.72.0/24.

Going through the VPN, I can hit every object on the network that uses .108 (Sonicwalll) as it's gateway.  However, I cannot hit the unit that uses .106 (Cisco) as it's gateway.

I added a route statement (using ASDM) that routes all traffic destined to 192.168.72.0/24 to the Sonicwall so it can send it back down the VPN tunnel.  If I'm understanding routing correctly, this should allow responses from NAS destined for 192.168.72.0/24 to go back down the VPN tunnel.

Q1: Is it possible?

Q2: The remote side gets connected and has IP from the pool, with is part of inside network. But it cannot ping anything, including the gateway, which is the inside interface. I debug it, it shows the ASA receives the ping packages, but it doesnt send anything back to the client.

2. with the service policy wizard i did create a global service policy (all interface) and a traffic class for dscp 46 ef and on qos tab i did check the "enable priority for this flow"...

3. When using the phone, i clearly see that packets are growing on the LLQ queue (show priority-queue statistics)

Cisco VPN :: ASA 5505 - NAT Before Going Over VPN Tunnel

Feb 7, 2013

We're setting up a site to site VPN with a customer.  Our side is a Cisco sa520 and there side is a Checkpoint. The tunnel is up, we've verified phase 1 and 2 are good. The issue is passing traffic across the tunnel, our LAN ip address are private addresses 10.10.1.0/24  but the customer states that we need to have a public IP address for our LAN in order to access there server on there LAN.  So looking through all the forums, I see that you can NAT before crossing the VPN tunnel, but our issue is that our site only has 6 IP addresses assigned to it and those are the Comcast router, the WAN side of the SA520 firewall.

So we were wondering was there a way that we can either use the WAN interface on the SA520 or use another available of the 6 that were assigned to NAT and pass traffic across the tunnel.  Sounds confusing?  sorry but it is, rarely do I have a customer say I have to have a public IP for my side of the LAN.  Now I also say this is a SA520 firewall, but if it's not possible to do with that is there a way were could with an ASA5505?

Cisco Routers :: Setup VPN Tunnel Between Linux Machine And RVS4000 At A Remote Site?

Jul 21, 2011

I'm trying to set up a VPN tunnel between a Linux machine and a RVS4000 at a remote site (served via satellite connection). After many efforts, I finally succeeded (based on Openswan). However, while PINGing is OK, big packets (from the RVS4000 LAN to the Linux box) arrive corrupted.

I lowered the WAN MTU, with no success. What finally did the trick is to lower the MTU at the RVS4000 LAN interface. Since this is not possible via the Web I/F, I did it via telnet ("ifconfig eth0 mtu 1400"). However, this change is lost after router reboot. How can I make the LAN MTU setting permanent?

Cisco 5505 Asa Vpn Tunnel Managing Apps

Aug 12, 2011

I have an interesting SVPN challenge that I'm asking the subject experts here to assist me in solving.A customer in Domain A wants to transmit data to Domain B. The customers have agreed to establishing a secure vpn connection from Domain A to Domain B to transmit real time data. The challenge comes from sending unencrypted data from nodeA to nodeB & nodeC withing an encrypted VPN tunned to node d.The challenge is sending non-encrypted data from NodeA to NodeB where an encrypted VPN session is active. Every time I attempt to configure the interface (AppC) the VPN session is terminated, and the interface can no longer "see" nodeD via IP mapping. An engineer recommended adding a second NIC card to NodeB thereby permitting control of the AppC even when the VPN is up and running. Can I send live non-encrypted data to NodeB data buffer, while AppC sends data to NodeD in a VPN tunnel ?
