I have remote branches that connect to the corporate office as a site-to-site VPN. Now the clients at the branch are getting an application that is using an unsecured port (tcp/23). I would like to use a set of ASA 5520's that I have at the corporate office, with the AnyConnect license on them. I want the client machines to establish a tunnel from the client to one of these ASA's. The ASA' then would have a connection to the VLAN that the receiving server is housed on. The trick is to just establish the tunnel from the client to the ASA that will allow the IP of the client to not be translated. So I would use the ASA as a security 'pass-through' for the clients that use this new application.

Iphone 4S latest IOS5 V 5.1.1 installed?I'm not able to make native IPSEC VPN connection to work against my company Cisco 877 Instead, all my notebook and netbook with Cisco VPN Client installed work fine when they remotely connect to company's 877 Enabling 877 debug, it seems Iphone successfully pass the phase 1 ike connection (in fact Iphone asks me for phase2 user/pass) but it hung at phase2 giving me back the error "Negotiation with VPN server failed"
Here is how I configured my 877 VPN part :
R1(config)# aaa new-model
R1(config)# aaa authentication login default local
R1(config)# aaa authentication login vpn_xauth_ml_1 local
R1(config)# aaa authentication login sslvpn local
R1(config)# aaa authorization network vpn_group_ml_1 local
R1(config)# aaa session-id common
[code]....
It seems 877 even comes to allocate a local LAN ip address to Iphone (192.168.0.21) but then something goes wrong.....

i am trying to establish a VPN connection between two remote offices. In the home side I have Cisco 1811W and on the far side CiscoSRP541.
What is the best solution to build a site-to-site VPN between those two locations. I originally thought to configure a GRE tunnel on the routers, but faced some issues with that.

I've been labbing on my asa5505 at home, setting up different VPN solutions for testing purposes. However, I can't get my anyconnect client to establish a DTLS tunnel when connecting (anyconnect only shows tls, and does not display any errors about not connecting with dtls)I have set dtls port to 444 and this port is open on the other side.

Does RV082 can establish PPTP VPN connection as CLIENT? (i'm aware it can provide function of VPN PPTP server but could not find if it can act as client). To explain further: I'm based in Europe and use US VPN to access some US services like Netflix, Pandora, etc.. (i'm paying for US VPN account as service so I have no other choice than PPTP). I would like to establish permanent PPTP VPN tunnel with remote server so all computers in the house can go through tunnel when i browse for Pandora or Netflix for example (is this router capable of routing policy too so not all the traffic would be routed through tunnel?)

We have two sites connect with an IPSec L2L VPN.
-Site A: 192.168.13.0/24
-Site B: 192.168.2.0/24
On both sites we have a ASA5505(Base license) to terminate the tunnel. On Site B we also got a remote access vpn to which we can connect using the vpn client. The lan2lan tunnel works fine and so the remote access vpn.Now i want to connect to Site A using my vpn client connected to Site B. [code] There are no vpn-filters or other special policys in place..If tried to ping from my vpn client to Site A while i was debugging ipsec 255 on site B: the asa matched the l2l-tunnel for traffic sourced from 192.168.25.x to 192.168.13.x but when im doing a show crypto ipsec sa detail there are no packets getting encrypted..so of course no packets reaching my asa on site a.

VPN shows connected and he is given a remote IP from the VPN Pool, but he cannot ping any IP on our network. When connected using Sprint Wi-Fi card he is able to connect and access remote network from the same laptop. Maybe there is some network overlap that I am missing.

We have two sites, Site-A with a ASA 5520 (Remote Access IPSEC VPN server) at one end and a new ASA 5515-X at Site-B. Users at Site-B are unable to establish a VPN connection to Site-A via Cisco VPN client from behind the new ASA 5515-X. They see the following error:
"Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the client.
Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.
They are able to access the same from home or elsewhere so I believe there is nothing wrong with Site-A ASA vpn config which we have been using for a while now. The new 5515-X (version 8.6) has a very basic config with all outbound traffic allowed. I'm pasting the config below. Do I need to enable/allow anything for it to work?

Is it possible to establish a permanent vpn tunnel between each one of my remote sites to the main building, even if I have no static IP address in the remote sites?
Do you think that RV180 is the best choice to mannage vpn connection between remote sites and the central building securely and faster?

Not very familiar with ASA and NAT'ing in general so hopefully, this will make sense.
I've created a Site-to-Site IPSec VPN tunnel with one of our clients (who uses a PIX). The remote user can connect to our local, private LAN servers without a problem. However, when the remote user tries to connect to servers on our corporate network (which is linked over WAN routers from LA to Dallas) they cant get through.
When I run Packet Trace in ASDM on our ASA all is well until the packet attempts to traverse from the Inside interface back through the Outside interface (back to the remote client side of the VPN tunnel).
I see the following "error" within the Packet Trace tool;
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Type - NAT Subtype - rpf-check Action - DROP
Config
object network obj_any
nat (inside,outside) dynamic interface
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've attached my ASA config. The remote client-side address is 74.8.221.195, its being PAT'd to 172.30.12.75 and the remote host/network its not able to reach is 172.30.101.20 ( /24 net mask). The local segment in my LA network is 172.30.12.0/22 and the servers in this network are all able to communicate with the remote client-side user at 74.8.221.195.

I have WAG120N and I want to use ssh tunneling to browse the net.In windows, I have to use a software like putty or xShell to establish a ssh connection to remote server. It works perfectly and I don't have any problem with it.The problem occurs when I want to use this ssh account in linux. At first, connection established without any problem or error. After 2-3 minutes it seems ssh dies and no data transmitted through ssh tunnel.I tried this with Symphony ADSL modem(Wired only) and I have no problem with it.I want to know if there's any specific problem or configuration for WAG120N to solve this problem?I like this modem/router and I don't want to sell it and buy any other modem/ router.I have to mention that usually I use wired connections to WAG120N,but at some cases I need to use its wireless features.

I want to privatize the outside interfaces of my ASA firewalls however I need a public IP address bound to an Interface to support L2L and client VPN (using the Cisco client software). What I'd like to do is route to the firewall privatized outside interface and have a DMZ interface with a public IP address on it for VPN peering. Ideally this would allow me to build rules on the outside interface limiting communication to the DMZ interface to IPSEC only. Thus VPN tunnels would traverse the outside interface and terminate on the DMZ interface giving me granular control of the peers and protocols allowed to the each the DMZ interface.

Is this a know bug, or do I need to have a specific java version for the new ASDM? As a side note, I have not noticed any other issues with the new version of ASDM, only the bookmarks. I initially tried to downgrade the ASDM version that I was using to connect, but it will no longer allow me to connect.

I cannot get this to work properly and I've even had a Cisco engineer from TAC set-this up... and it literally broke my inside network. I have a VPN range of addresses..x.x.x.x on the Outside that needs access to a server on the Inside at y.y.y.y. HTTPS/443 connectivity. I need to NAT my VPN subnet/pool in order to talk to the inside host, as that host will not accept traffic from my VPN subnet, but obviously, will accept traffic from Inside my private network.
The Cisco tech entered the following static NAT statement to "fix" the problem - nat (outside, inside) source static VPN Inside-Network destination static Host-y.y.y.y Host-y.y.y.y For whatever reason, whenever this is configured on my ASA 5550 v8.3(2)25 the Inside interface starts proxy arping and assigns all IP addresses on my private network with the MAC address of the Inside interface.
The y.y.y.y is on a remote, routed network within my private, corporate MPLS network. My Inside private network (Inside-network shown in the static NAT above) is x.x.x.x. Not sure why this happens, but it kills my entire network and I have to jump through hoops to quiesce the network and get everything back to normal.I've tried to Dynamic-PAT/hide the VPN range behind the Inside interface through ASDM and that seems to do nothing. The NAT statement above will break my network. How to NAT this connection without killing my Inside network? Or, on how to properly hide my VPN subnet/pool behind my Inside interface and back to the VPN subnet/pool.

I setup RA-VPN under local asa 5510 IP pool (192.168.127.0/24) and all was working fine. I got internet and local network access.
Then i have 5 site to site VPN working fine but when im traying to access to those L2L VPNs from the remote acces client im not able to do that. So after that i decided to obtain IP addresses from my DHCP server so i can obtain IPs from my local network (172.17.16.0/16) and then access normally to the VPN site to site. But the surprise was that the VPN cisco client is getting local IP address (172.17.16.222) perfectly but im not able to access even to my local network.
I have the same-security-traffic permit inter-interface same-security-traffic permit intra-interface enable.

I have spent a couple of hours to find an easy way to connect my old laptop with Windows XP with my new notebook running Windows 7. I have obtained a little bit of background information but am lost in the WWW.
I now know that I would need a special USB cable or a cross-over ethernet cable for a wired connection. As I don't have either at the moment I looked into creating a ad-hoc WiFi network between both computers. I found instructions how to set one up under Win XP and another one for Win 7 but I have found no information whether and how I can actually connect both. I reckon that I only need to set one up on one computer and then would have to somehow make the other computer detect and join that network.

I have a few ASAs with L2Ls in a hub-and-spoke fashion, works great. All ASAs are 8.2(1). I've tried to add remote-vpn to the HQ ASA. I have this working on a PIX 6.3 box at HQ, but have not been able to make it work completely on the ASA.
Just to check, I also set up remote client vpn access on one of the spoke ASAs, and that actually did go well. Applying the equivalent config on the HQ ASA - won't function.
The problem with the HQ ASA remote client vpn is that after completed phase 1 & 2, the traffic goes one way only, from client side towards the ASA. I e remote side only encaps, no decaps; ASA side only decaps, no encaps. If the remote client pings a host on the inside (i e behind the HQ ASA) the packets arrive, and are returned towards the ASA (a correct route for the remote vpn network is in place on the inside host). However, it seems as if the ASA doesn't send that traffic back into the tunnel, but rather sends it unencrypted through the default route (doing a traceroute from the inside host for instance suggests this).
The ONLY way I can pass traffic towards the remote client is by initiating a ping from within the HQ ASA, it's the only time I get encaps on the ASA side and decaps on the remote side of the tunnel. Interestingly, it's actually the "ping outside 192.168..." that works, doing an "inside" ping fails. Compare this to the spoke ASA and its remote vpn client, there an inside ping is succesful, but not a outside ping, i e the spoke ASA functions as expected with its remote vpn. Given that the configs on the two ASAs are the same for remote client access, I would have expected both to work, not only one of them. But then, the HQ ASA has more lines of code, and I guess that something there gets in the way. [code]

I need to get the internet from my uncle and aunt's house to my grandma's house next door. I don't know exact feet or anything like that yet but I will get it measured off. My grandma's kids got her a laptop for Christmas but she doesn't have the internet or would be wanting to spend money on it a month since she already says she will not be able to use the computer, but I said we would just somehow get the internet from next door. I don't know off the top of my head but my aunts computer is an older Dell, early P4 computer with xp on it. It's slow but it does work so that is the computer. The router is some sort of D-link with one antenna on it and I'm pretty sure it's probably a G-router(2.4ghz) and not a N-router, but can get that info later too! They currently use Time Warner Cable Roadrunner Turbo for their internet. Both places are well built brick houses and at least 200-300 feet apart. I checked yesterday and the computer was able to pick up the signal in my grandma's house on the end that was closest to my aunts house. It was showing 2 bars but it wasn't extremely fast and that room had a bigger window in it probably allowing some of the signal in? If you moved from that point of the house though and tried to go to the other end, the signal was lost. The router in my aunt's house is one room away from the end of the house that is closest to my grandma's so it could be moved closer but I don't think that will fix the signal enough to do what I need it to do.

I try to configure a simple EzVPN infrastructure:
EzVPN Server (CISCO2811, hostname cme) < -- > EzVPN Remote (ASA5505, hostname ezvpn-asa) < -- > Client
Attached you find both configuration of the EzVPN server and remote. The tunnel is getting up and if I ping from the ASA to the Router, I see the packets getting encrypted:
ezvpn-asa# ping 172.16.100.1
...
ezvpn-asa# show crypto ipsec sa
interface: outside
Crypto map tag: _vpnc_cm, seq num: 10, local addr: 172.16.100.2
[code]....
If I connect a client with IP address 192.168.1.2 to the interface eth0/1 and do a ping to the cme, I don't see any packets getting encrypted. I don't have any idea about VPN, I just need it for a wireless lab environment. What do I have to configure on the ASA, so the inside traffic is encrypted?

After trying to configure remote client VPN access to a Cisco 2911 ISR using the CLI I tried to use the Cisco Configuration Professional. However, either way I have the same problem. A client can successfully connect and access servers but just once. When the client disconnects and tries to connect again there is no access to the servers even though the VPN tunnel appears to be up. I've tried multiple versions of the Cisco vpn client SW and all behave the same: 1st connection can access servers, subsequent connections can't. I've also tried a second (different) client after the original connection and still no luck. If I reload the router the client can get the vpn connection and access the servers but if the client disconnects from the vpn and tries again there is no access to the servers.
I've also tried it with and without NAT but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
The config generated using CCP is as follows:
version 15.0
service timestamps debug datetime msec
service timestamps log datetime msec
