I am trying to configure a 1941, but the router boots into readonly rommon . after configuring the router and copy running config to startup config, on reboot, none of the changes are saved, and boots back into readonly rommon

I don't have a USB to serial adapter handy, and was wondering if had success breaking to the Rommon prompt during system reload (boot sequence) using the USB console on a Cisco 1941 router?

I am trying to change SNMPv2 community string on 6509 remotely, without using expect script. I tried EEM applet (we cannot use TCL scripts), but it does not work. EEM command "action 10 info snmp oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.4 get-type exact" is supposed to store the result into an environment variable. It does not. Or at least not in the one that is documented. Is it a bug? We have IOS 12.2(17r)SX5. To get EEM version i ran "sh event manager version" and got "eem: (v240_throttle) 2.21.32". Does it mean i have EEM version 2.21?

1) Created a user in ACS
2) Create Shell command Autorization Set - ReadOnly
Unmatched Commands - Deny
Commands Added
show
exit
* this should limit the user to the show and exit command only (correct)?
3) Created a group - HelpDesk with the following TACACS+ Settings
Shell (exec) is checked
Priviledge level is check with 15 as the assigned level
Assign a Shell Command Authorization Set for any network device - selected
ReadOnly - shell command autorization set seleted
When the user logs on to the router/switch it appears that he has full access. He can enter the enable command, config terminal command, etc. All we want him to be able to do is to issue the show command.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am currently facing a major problem. I am a user of the Smart FTP software and have several files in it.However, the "Sites" folder is showing a blank screen. It shows nothing, when there are supposed to be at least 30 files.
I think I have discovered the cause of this; the "Read" permissions are off. Here is where my problem comes in, when I enable it and select "Apply Changes Recursively", it goes back to the unchecked "Read" permission. It doesn't seem to take into account the fact that I want to enable it.
I am currently using Time Warner Cable as my internet provider and I have been experiencing very slow internet connection speeds for the past few weeks. This has happened across multiple laptops and desktops both wireless and wired connections. I have done a ping and tracert test but am unable to read the results.

Then I stopped using the Internet to do a program tidy up. - there were a few program's that had been extras to other program's I don't need. Then I went to use the Internet again and it wouldn't connect through the Ethernet cord. I was able to establish that my computer is still able to access the Internet through wireless (which we don't often use on account of it been spotty). Only one pc will open the files in the folder as read only and the others will open with full control. I have checked if someone has the files open and no one did. I have checked the share attributes and they are set to full control to all users. The files are in word and xl and did not try anything other type of files. Is there a setting that makes the files read only for one user? This system is the owner and boss (win xp) and need a fix fast.

For many reasons, I want to store all my data in a centralized location (that being my WHS box). I then want to access that data through my laptop in London as if the data was in a folder on my computer. I also want to access the data through my mobile phone (android).I just set up filezilla on my WHS box and it works fine if I want to download or upload data. But it won't let me open word files 'off' the server, make changes, and then save it right back. I have to download the word file, make changes, and then reupload that file to the server.
