View 3 RepliesOne of our client wants to know "How many route entries a 2821 router or 881 router can support" Such as the 3750 can support 11k routes in ‘desktop routing’ mode. But I want to know the limitations on routers.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf dynamic IP addresses are those which change frequently and a person does not keep the same one for very long, how can websites still block somebody from their service, surely as soon as the IP refreshes, the person will have access again. Lets take the case of Wikipedia. If you do bad edits on some of their pages, they will ban your IP address for months to even years, how can they possibly do this if the persons IP address may change hundreds of times within this period?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe just upgraded to ASA 8.4.4.1 and the latest CSD image, 3.6.6203. We currently have a DAP set up to scan one group policy for a secific AV but wanted to start implementing this for all group policies and including several different flavors of AV (so anyone could connect from anywhere as long as a pre-approved AV is installed). We are going to allow about 20 different versions of different AV's and I've tested a couple already and they're successful.
My issue right now is trying to allow (or deny) AV that is installed on an Android tablet (and potentially Apple devices). The tablet has avast Mobile Security installed, and even if I select Vendor: Alwil as a whole, it still does not recognize it and denies the user. I have tested on a PC and it works fine. Is there something that I am missing or are mobile AV programs not included in the DAP policies? Is this going to be considered for future versions of CSD or ASA or are we going to continue to consider Android and Apple devices "secure" and not in need of an AV?
We have 881 routers and are planning on testing out some WAN optimizing hardware, we're told that our router needs to support PBR and WCCP protocols. Will this router handle it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor server load balancing, does the ACE4710 support custom protocols? We'll be using HTTP for server health monitoring, and to determine if a server is up or down. But the client/server application is custom, and includes a lot of non-standard ports. Can the server VIP handle generic TCP connections? For example client1 connects to the VIP on http, but then later client1 switches to using tcp842 (a custom protocol, not http).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2821 Router, with a VWIC2-2MFT card in it, with two T1s going into that card. The two T1s are a bundled MPLS line.
I then have a cable modem connection going into the gigabit Ethernet GE 0/1 port on the router.
Right now, the cable modem provides a backup connection in case the T1s go down.
What I was wondering is if there was a way to 'combine' the bandwidth from the two T1s with the cable modem?
Basically I run 3 voice gateways on 2821 routers. In two of my routers I've had fan failures, one router has had two fans die and one has had just the one.
I was going to buy the offical Cisco fan replacement kit but then I thought with such as high failure rate I'd rather buy something else and better guarentee the service to my call centres.
So, what i'm asking is:
- Is there any reason why I cannot procure a standard 80mm 12V fan with a better rating (cooling and reliability) and install this in my 2821's?
I understand this may invalidate any warranties but mine have long expired.
I've 3 interfaces on router:
Gb0/0-ISP01 with DHCP client
Gb0/1-ISP02 Static IP 192.168.2.x/24
Fa0/0 - LAN 192.168.1.1/24
I want to know, how to configure:1. Set the IP of interface Gb0/0 as dhcp client from ISP01 and make it as default route.
2. How to configure the ip nat.....overload?
3. How to use the ip sla to monitor internet connectivity to 8.8.8.8 for ISP01, if it fails, to go to ISP02.
We've got Cisco 2821 for our 90mb/s Internet Access. Its CPU usage is around 80%. Show process cpu does not show any cpu proccess with high utilization. But we have got plenty of policing configured for our clients using policy maps. Can this policing affect cpu usage?

I have an IP camera etc that I need to access from the WWW. If I do this does this have any security implications; both for my network or the guestsMy reasoning is not; as the TP-Link still acts as my firewall and the specific address of the TP-Link doesn't affect the guest, but I thought I'd check with the Pros!?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to configure an existing 2600 router to use dynamic NAT for access to the web and ALSO I have (5) fixed IP addresses for use with an email server, a web server, and (3) future servers. I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?

The setup looks like this:I have a core swith (HP Procurve) which is connected to Cisco router ( which is ISP router).I have to create vlans and do intervlan between them and reach the ISP router.I created two vlans on HP Core Switch ( apart from default vlan 1) , vlan 99 ip add 10.110.234.1 subnet 255.255.255.128 and vlan 999 ip add 10.110.234.129 subnet 255.255.255.128,vlan 1 ip add 10.110.232.42 subnet 255.255.254.0.tagged the ports of vlan 99 and vlan 999 in vlan 1. I am able to do intervlan routing, but i cannot reach router which is 10.110.232.1 subnet 255.255.252.0.I tried these scenrio on packet tracer, it is working fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am just confused over the fact that a router configured with 10.1.1.1 address (assuming it's got 255.255.255.0 mask) can communicate to a PC connected to one of it's LAN ports and manually setup to have 10.1.1.2/8 address. I was sure that since these are two different subnets they won't see each other. But they do and searched wiki and just googled to see why, but with no success. A friend of my friend says something about 'same range' but it makes little sense to me.
I just need a good article about it or a crystall clear explanation, because I feel my understanding of IP is not as good as I used to believe.
I have att dsl and they supplied me with a modem, a motorola model type 2210, and my belkin surf N300 router is giving me issues connecting to the internet. Im pretty sure my wireless network adapter is a netgear wg311v3.The issue im having is that sometimes i can connect to the internet just fine, and sometimes i cant connect to the internet. I know it is a router issue because when i plug the modem into my comp, i can access the internet 100% fine.I also think it is not a wireless network adapter issue because i ran an ethernet cable from the router to my comp and had the same issues. There are 2 other computers on the network, one of them is a year or two newer than my dell desktop, and has no issues whatsoever connecting to the internet via the router. The other computer on the network is a Wii, and has connection issues when playing online (probly a different issue), but can access the internet no problem.
