I am replacing an old Catalyst 3550 (that has 2 Gig ports) with a 3750 (that has 4)- I used the exact same configuration in the new switch. When I plugged in the new 3750, the trunk ports started blinking from green to amber. I dont know why this is occuring- it SEEMS to be fine, but we havent thrown a whole bunch of traffic over it.
View 4 Repliesafter a recovery of a main power failure the RPS LED on my Cisco 2960 is blinking amber. The command sh env power on the Switch tells me: POWER is faulty. sh env rps says: RPS is supplying.
On the RPS2300 the DC output LED is blinking green. Due to the manual this means: The RPS 2300 is backing up the connected device.
So far so true. The RPS has backed up for the time the main power supply was down.
But actually both, the Powersupply from the RPS and the main power are available.
But the Switch didn't switch back to it's bultin powersupply, so still the RPS ist suppling the switch.
What can we do to get the Cisco 2960 into the correct state? Is there a special command which i can use?
I have a WLC 5508, its PS1 and PS2 are OFF state, SYS is blinking amber and ALM is continues amber, Its port s are not coming UP and I am not able to access the Controller, All ports are physically down and in console nothing is showing when I connect through the console cable.

dcm425 dont turn off also has 4 solid green lights...it happen after a power outage my router works fine but my dmc425 cable modem just has the 4 green solid lights when it's plugged in when i push the power button nothing happens at all

When connected, all lights on modem are green, so is the light on the Time Capsule. When I go to a website, page cannot be displayed. When I insert the ethernet cable directly into the back of the iMac straight from the DSL, the internet works just fine.With all lights green but no internet connection, what am I missing?

A couple nights ago, in the middle of my surfing the net, i was cut off and 'checked the modem (working good) and the router, displaying blinking amber lights --modem and internet. I had to restart my router, usually, it would work after that and i could surf again. This time, when it started back up, the router light turned blue and then the modem and internet light started blinking amber. I haven't done anything except chat over the net when it happened. All other lights are blue. I have cycled the modem power, the router power, and restarted the computer and have the same results. I already followed the troubleshooting from Belkin support 192.168... completely restore it to it's factory settings and yet, i still end up not being able to connect in the internet and with that blinking amber lights. I already tried connecting directly from my modem to my win 7 laptop --no problem at all. I could surf and chat. but when i tried connecting it again from modem to router so i can do wireless.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere was a problem with one of our servers. We were unable to connect to it remotely. We restarted the server. Still we were unable to communicate with it. Static IP is provided.
In the connections settings, it showed the send and receive as 0. I noticed the network card lights. Both were flashing green in sync, like twice in one second. I removed the cable and funny thing was, it was still blinking non stop in the same way. I plugged the cable back in and took back out, the same result. After a second restart of the server, it started working normally and i was able to communicate with the server.
Recently we had a situation where our users were unplugging one of our un-mounted 1252 LAPs. They would do this so they could borrow the wire to direct connect any one of their devices not realizing they were disconnecting a wireless access point. After discovering that the AP was unplugged once again, our admin plugged the AP back to the network but noticed that it no longer would connect to the controller. We can no longer console into the AP but can console into all other APs we have. All 3 lights are now green. Radio and Ethernet are solid and Status is blinking. I found the Cisco doc explaining the meaning of the front panel lights but have not found this particular configuration. What these lights mean and why not being able to use the console port?
View 11 Replies View RelatedThinking back, about a month ago I updated the firmware (I can't check version at the moment). The switch has been working fine since then. Today I needed to move some power cables and the switch lost power. Now ALL of the LED lights are flashing green and I can't access the switch. I've tried setting a static IP on my laptop to 192.168.1.20, mask 255.255.255.0, and accessing the switch on 192.168.1.254, but there's no response. I've tried holding in the reset button for at least 30 seconds while the switch is powered on, AND while powering it on. None of that has worked. Also when I first power it on, the system LED flashes orange very quickly for a second or so, then all of the LEDS start flashing green.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange issue with an 1142 AP. I have a 5508 WLC at my corporate HQ and have AP's in many locations, connected by MPLS WAN. I have one site where the 1142 is blinking green and doesn't associate with the WLC. I have tried a different switch port with the AP (didn't work) and I know that the switch port is good because I have a 1252 that works just fine at this remote location.The really weird part is that the AP is blinking green, but the switch port shows that it is not connected and the green port light on the 3560 switch is not lit. I have verified wiring in the closet, but unfortunately the 1142 AP is hanging 40ft high in a shop and I don't have access to it.Is it possible that there's a bad rj-45 termination that is allowing PoE to the AP, but no data?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green.The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).The SSID broadcast is enabled.On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.

I then bypassed the router and have internet on my main computer so I know it is a router issue. I use the router for my laptop and cell phone. The small LED lights located at each network cable plug-in on my router are continually blinking orange all at the same time over and over.
I also notice on all my computers that are wired to this router the small LED lights near the network card plug-in are also blinking orange.
what these orange lights mean and if I have a problem?
My internet service seems to work OK but I'm not sure what is causing all these orange LED's to blink and is there something wrong that imay be slowing my system down.
I have upgraded my Cisco router to the latest firmware and also power reset my cable modem and router several times with no change in the problem.
My previous setup was a ProSafe GS108 switch, 10/100 Dlink router/switch used only as a switch, and a DI-655 router/switch. With this setup, activity when I wasn't using any of my computers was zero. There would be no blinking activity lights.
I dumped the ProSafe and 10/100 switch, and use the DI-655 only for my internet uplink and wireless, and now have everything else plugged into a Cisco GS200 switch. There is activity now every two seconds. I presume this prevents the Green energy saving features from kicking in as the ports are in use.
What's the difference that's leading to all this activity that presumably wasn't there before?
I'm installing the first out of 10 Aironet AP's with an inline injector. The lights on the Aironet and alernating blue, green, red. I know the error code is for DHCP, but when I plug it in I see the AP on my DHCP server and it does pull an IP address. I can ping the ip address, but I cannot access it through my browser.
I have tried deleting the entry out of the DHCP and power it back on again. I have also tried another unit with the same results. I don't have a RJ-45 to serial cable.

It just sits there with the Power and Diag lights blinking and does nothing else.I'm thinking I'm going to have to try to find some way to flash the firmware, because I'm seeing that this is a common problem with this router.I already tried support "chat" online, but after about 20-30 minutes waiting for someone to actually come into the chat room, I gave up.I did note that this model is not being sold anymore and won't be supported before very long, so this may be a gigantic waste of time, but I thought I would give it a shot.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I came home tonight, the lights on my E1000 hardware version 1 (that I have had for only 9 months) were, as best as I can describe, blinking like a digital clock blinks 12:00 over and over. All of the blue LEDs would light up at once, and go off, repeatedly and rapidly. This is the second time this has happened - the first time (about two weeks ago) I called a techie friend and he had me hard reset the router (30 on 30 off 30 on) and it worked, I just had to set up my wireless network again. This time, I just unplugged the cable from the back of the router, waited about 15 seconds and plugged it back in, and it went back to normal.
In case someone may be wondering, unplugging the from the surge protector did NOT work; when I first noticed the lights blinking, I unplugged it from the surge protector, waited about 10 seconds, and plugged it back in; the lights continued their rapid erratic blinking. I then did what I described above - I plugged it back into the surge protector, and then unplugged it from the back of the router, waited, and plugged it back in and it was back to normal.
I thought perhaps it needed a firmware upgrade, but checking the website, while I was able to locate the site to upgrade the firmware for E1000, I could only see an upgrade for hardware Version 2, and my router is Version 1 - which, from what I understand, is NOT what I want, as that firmware is for a different hardware version and may cause problems on my Version 1 router.
While my router seems to be fine now. Is my router starting to kick the bucket already? I haven't had it that long - bought it last September. Do I need to upgrade any software or firmware for it? If so, where do I get the correct upgrade for my hardware version?
We recently installed 15 of these switches, and we're having a few odd, random network issues. But before I enumerate those issues, I have a simple question: are the connection lights on these switches *supposed* to blink rapidly? Or are they supposed to blink *normally*?On all other switches I've ever seen / worked on / worked around, when a cable is plugged into a port, the connection lights blink upon network activity. sometimes they blink a little faster when there's lots of activity, but mostly it's an almost lazy, random kind of blinking. When you look at a switch and every light on every port that's connected is blinking very rapidly, your first instinct is "No *wonder* nothing works around here!" and you find the port that's chattering and unplug it...all the blinkies go back to normal.Well, on the 15 switches we've installed, every light that's on blinks rapidly, as if there's an uncontrolled storm going on. Is that the "new norm"? Did I miss the memo, and there is nothing to be worried about here? Or are the rapidly blinking lights telling me there is, indeed, a problem?

I've walked through the E1000 router reset and not matter what I do, all the lights except the power light blink rapidly and dimly. Could the router be fried even though it's on a surge protector???? It's less than 6 months old so hopefully still covered by warranty.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed and configured 2 new WS-3750E-24TD in the last 30 days, that have software version 12.5(50)SE2-universalk9, on our flat Development LAN (currently 7 existing WS-3750E-24TD with 12.5(35)SE2-universal)The new switches have shutdown, 1 has shutdown twice and I just had the other one shutdown on the weekend, all the status lights on the left are lit up but no port lights are on, I am not able to console in to the switch all I can do is cycle power. I can not fix the problem with the router. I power it up, all is GREEN, then it blinks RED, then GREEN, and finally RED. The router is terminally not connected to the Internet. How can I check if the router is BAD. I have done all the troubleshooting, examples:
