Here's the setup I have:
iMac (Aluminum)
Apple Time Capsule 1TB
AT&T DSL
When connected, all lights on modem are green, so is the light on the Time Capsule. When I go to a website, page cannot be displayed. When I insert the ethernet cable directly into the back of the iMac straight from the DSL, the internet works just fine.With all lights green but no internet connection, what am I missing?
dcm425 dont turn off also has 4 solid green lights...it happen after a power outage my router works fine but my dmc425 cable modem just has the 4 green solid lights when it's plugged in when i push the power button nothing happens at all
View 3 Replies View RelatedThere was a problem with one of our servers. We were unable to connect to it remotely. We restarted the server. Still we were unable to communicate with it. Static IP is provided.
In the connections settings, it showed the send and receive as 0. I noticed the network card lights. Both were flashing green in sync, like twice in one second. I removed the cable and funny thing was, it was still blinking non stop in the same way. I plugged the cable back in and took back out, the same result. After a second restart of the server, it started working normally and i was able to communicate with the server.
Recently we had a situation where our users were unplugging one of our un-mounted 1252 LAPs. They would do this so they could borrow the wire to direct connect any one of their devices not realizing they were disconnecting a wireless access point. After discovering that the AP was unplugged once again, our admin plugged the AP back to the network but noticed that it no longer would connect to the controller. We can no longer console into the AP but can console into all other APs we have. All 3 lights are now green. Radio and Ethernet are solid and Status is blinking. I found the Cisco doc explaining the meaning of the front panel lights but have not found this particular configuration. What these lights mean and why not being able to use the console port?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am replacing an old Catalyst 3550 (that has 2 Gig ports) with a 3750 (that has 4)- I used the exact same configuration in the new switch. When I plugged in the new 3750, the trunk ports started blinking from green to amber. I dont know why this is occuring- it SEEMS to be fine, but we havent thrown a whole bunch of traffic over it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThinking back, about a month ago I updated the firmware (I can't check version at the moment). The switch has been working fine since then. Today I needed to move some power cables and the switch lost power. Now ALL of the LED lights are flashing green and I can't access the switch. I've tried setting a static IP on my laptop to 192.168.1.20, mask 255.255.255.0, and accessing the switch on 192.168.1.254, but there's no response. I've tried holding in the reset button for at least 30 seconds while the switch is powered on, AND while powering it on. None of that has worked. Also when I first power it on, the system LED flashes orange very quickly for a second or so, then all of the LEDS start flashing green.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can not fix the problem with the router. I power it up, all is GREEN, then it blinks RED, then GREEN, and finally RED. The router is terminally not connected to the Internet. How can I check if the router is BAD. I have done all the troubleshooting, examples:
connected ethernet directly to computer - no problems
attempted to fix problems via belkin software
changed channels on modem
updated firmware
etc, etc
We need to connect a desktop wirelessly in a building that is probably about 100 ft away or so and the building it is in has aluminum siding. Any recommendations on a setup that will work? I am assuming a wireless router alone won't do the trick.

My problem is the slow connection between mac and router - only 100Mbit (ethernet port on mac is 1Gbit), strange thing... my NAS have 1Gbit with no problem, and the mac is not. I trying manual configure - forcing speed to 1Gbit, but then is no connection at all. I'm also trying changing wires, but no change. Im buying special ethernet cable cat 6 - also no change. Changing ports on router - result the same.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with one of my DCS-930L cameras. I have successfully installed it and it's connected wirelessly to a Dovado router. However, after some 2 weeks the wireless connection drops and I can't connect to the camera anymore. As the camera is 350 km away I can't restart it. This happens everytime and the last time I was around the camera and indeed the camera LED was green. I restarted it by pulling the powercord and after that the camera worked for som 2-3 weeks and then the same problem again.I have 4 cameras, and it's always the same one that drops the connection and the router is only some 5 meters away from the camera. No walls between the router and the camera. I have the ability to restart the router with an sms, but that doesn't make the camera reconnect.

The current network I have is the DSL modem connected to a WR841ND TP-LINK router, and then connected via LAN port to my desktop PC, and via Wi-Fi to a Laptop.However, my connection was unsuccesful. I power cycled both the modem and the router, awaited for a stable connection, and tried again with no result.That's when I noticed the lights on my router seemed strange. While the router's LAN port 1 to the computer was connected and lit, the LAN port 4 was also lit, but it wasn't connected to anything. Then I noticed my wan port showed the same behaviour, since it was already unplugged, but its light was still on.
That's when I decided to do a factory defaults reset, a hard reset, and reuploaded the firmware to the router. No change at all.I decided to connect my DSL modem to the computer directly, and internet works like a charm, so everything points to the router as the source of the problem.Now, I wanted to know. What would be the procedures I should follow to test or repair the router before declaring it "deceased"? Could this be more of a firmware problem? A hardware one?
We recently had a big storm and lost internet connection to our house. Whilst internet connection has since been restored I've noticed that there are now orange lights above the port where the ethernet cable connected to on our notebook. I also cannot get internet connection using the ethernet cable. Does this mean my internal modem has blown? I can use the wireless modem with no problems.
If the modem has blown, how much are they usually to replace and is it relatively easy? I have a Inspiron 1525 Notebook.
I need to know if PC Anywhere will work for the IMac and if not, what is the equivalent remote access program for the IMac?

I need my Mac on Network 1 and I need to have my windows 7 in Virtualbox on network 2. If i install a USB Ethernet port on the iMac and plug network 2 into it, how can i make it work just for Virtualbox? No problem, reset the system: should be fine. Not the case. Now my iMac can connect to the router but the signal is very weak almost useless and sometimes it won't connect at all. I've tried everything... Diagnostics say it's fine but then other times it says no IP address. Other routers work fine though. And the other computers I'm the building all have perfect connection... My problem is this: I can't Remote Desktop in from my iMac into the Win machine, but CAN when outside the network.The Win7 machine has a static IP, the iMac a dynamic. When I access the internal part of my router I can only see my iMac. I get a "can't connect to win-based machine" error when I try to Remote Connect.The only thing I can think is that using the same gateway is somehow messing things up? I've had two techs try to figure this out and they're both stumped.I was maybe thinking that since both comps are going out the same gateway that I should try anc configure the iMac to try and RDC on a different port, since maybe the iMac is listening on 3389 and sending the RDC back to itself?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up my new E2500 last week, and it works fantastic with every device (iPad, 2 iPhones, iMac, DLink usb, ...) EXCEPT my iMac. That connects, but loses the connection very frequently (say at least every half hour) and I need to turn wifi off and on to get it to reconnect.
I've ensured that the iMac has all system updates, and I've checked that the E2500 is the latest firmware.
I've reverted to my old WRT54G for now, I'll have to return the E2500 if it won't work consistently with the iMac.
I have an iMac running 10.4.11. I would like be able to print through the router. I now have my PC laptops doing so. What voodoo do I have to do to make the iMac work with it?

The only way it turns off is when I unplug my computer from the outlet. Also, my computer doesn't receive any internet when an Ethernet cable is plugged in and the yellow flashing light doesn't show either.
