I have a Snow Leopard iMac with Virtualbox installed. On my Virtualbox i am running windows 7. My job has two different networks. I need my Mac on Network 1 and I need to have my windows 7 in Virtualbox on network 2. If i install a USB Ethernet port on the iMac and plug network 2 into it, how can i make it work just for Virtualbox? I then want to make the built in Ethernet port work on network one and be just for the iMac?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 24" iMac has been running off airport extreme wireless Internet for a few months flawlessly. All of a sudden one day our power goes out.. No problem, reset the system: should be fine. Not the case. Now my iMac can connect to the router but the signal is very weak almost useless and sometimes it won't connect at all. I've tried everything... Diagnostics say it's fine but then other times it says no IP address. Other routers work fine though. And the other computers I'm the building all have perfect connection... What do I try?

When connected, all lights on modem are green, so is the light on the Time Capsule. When I go to a website, page cannot be displayed. When I insert the ethernet cable directly into the back of the iMac straight from the DSL, the internet works just fine.With all lights green but no internet connection, what am I missing?
I have a Win 7 machine with Win SBS 2011 in my office and an iMac. The Win machine is being setup for Exchange 2010. My problem is this: I can't Remote Desktop in from my iMac into the Win machine, but CAN when outside the network.The Win7 machine has a static IP, the iMac a dynamic. When I access the internal part of my router I can only see my iMac. I get a "can't connect to win-based machine" error when I try to Remote Connect.The only thing I can think is that using the same gateway is somehow messing things up? I've had two techs try to figure this out and they're both stumped.I was maybe thinking that since both comps are going out the same gateway that I should try anc configure the iMac to try and RDC on a different port, since maybe the iMac is listening on 3389 and sending the RDC back to itself?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up my new E2500 last week, and it works fantastic with every device (iPad, 2 iPhones, iMac, DLink usb, ...) EXCEPT my iMac. That connects, but loses the connection very frequently (say at least every half hour) and I need to turn wifi off and on to get it to reconnect.
I've ensured that the iMac has all system updates, and I've checked that the E2500 is the latest firmware.
I've reverted to my old WRT54G for now, I'll have to return the E2500 if it won't work consistently with the iMac.
I have an iMac running 10.4.11. I would like be able to print through the router. I now have my PC laptops doing so. What voodoo do I have to do to make the iMac work with it?

My problem is the slow connection between mac and router - only 100Mbit (ethernet port on mac is 1Gbit), strange thing... my NAS have 1Gbit with no problem, and the mac is not. View 2 Replies View RelatedSeveral months ago I installed D-Link's DIR 655 on my W7 x64 PC. Everything worked fine including NetFlix and being able to view photos located on my PC on my Sony TV. The TV is connected via wired Ethernet cable from the D-Link and I use my cable service signal from the router to the TV.
Then I had to reinstall my OS and although I can still view all the cable companies offerings, including NetFlix on the TV, I'm no longer able to see or view images located on my PC on the TV. I didn't change any of the wiring.
I tried reinstalling the D-Link CD but I can't find where it installs on my PC. It's not listed in the Device Manager or in Programs. I'm wanting to know what version of the D-Link driver I have and to be able to view photos and videos on my TV that are located in shared folders on my PC. I'm the only one who uses the PC.
Because of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI just installed a fresh copy of XP on an old Dell E310 my wife and kids use. Just an FYI, I used D-link prior to the re-install with no issues for a few years. Anyway, after XP was up, I put the D-link drivers on. The internet came up and worked like normal for 5-10 minutes, then 'poof', gone. Each time I attempted to connect after that I got a warning message stating I do not have network adapters? I was under the impression that is what D-link was?
