Sep 11, 2012The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) And is hard for me to reinstall because the reinstall driver's button to click is not showing.

Dell Inspiron 1525 / No Network Card Installed Despite Correct Drivers?
May 22, 2012i reinstalled Windows Vista using the disc that came with the Dell Inspiron 1525.I then went to the dell website, downloaded and installed the 2 network drivers. So now the internet works with a cable but the network card is still not showing up.How is the laptop still not recognising the wireless card? Are there any additional drivers i need?

Jan 4, 2006I have Dell Inspiron 5160 which recently had a HDD crashed. I installed a new HDD and installed OS Windows XP Home edition - I installed video drivers and chipset - Now I had no idea which drivers to installed so I installed the default listed Network drivers in the CD provided to me BUT I dont know somehow they are not visible -- ALL the network and other devices in the Device Manager have yellow Question mark along with ! and are saying Device drivers for this drivers not found - I have installed all sort of drivers from support.dell.com but still does not work.

I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)

Nov 18, 2011Several months ago I installed D-Link's DIR 655 on my W7 x64 PC. Everything worked fine including NetFlix and being able to view photos located on my PC on my Sony TV. The TV is connected via wired Ethernet cable from the D-Link and I use my cable service signal from the router to the TV.
Then I had to reinstall my OS and although I can still view all the cable companies offerings, including NetFlix on the TV, I'm no longer able to see or view images located on my PC on the TV. I didn't change any of the wiring.
I tried reinstalling the D-Link CD but I can't find where it installs on my PC. It's not listed in the Device Manager or in Programs. I'm wanting to know what version of the D-Link driver I have and to be able to view photos and videos on my TV that are located in shared folders on my PC. I'm the only one who uses the PC.
Ethernet Controller Driver Not Installed?
Apr 1, 2011Because of a virus, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Upon restarting, I found out that I cannot connect to the Internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable). I tried going in the Device manager to try and troubleshoot the Network Adapters, but the only object in that category was "Intel (R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN". In a lower category, "Other Devices", I see two "Base System Device", one "Unknown Device" and one "Ethernet Controller", all of them with little yellow exclamation marks on the icon. I guessed the problem was the Ethernet Controller, so I tried "Update Driver...". It told me that it could not find a driver for my device.

Jul 15, 2011I have an office server set up to about 10 computers. We hired 4 new people and had to set up their computers on our network. Set up was easy and quick as usual. But when I was done, the other computer users, and even the new ones were complaining about not being able to access the DEFCON5 (name of our server) folder to get what they needed.
Basically the only workstations that show up when I click Network are the computers I added the other day, and the computer that is used more than any other computer (the CEO's). We can still access the files by typing the location as \DEFCON5****** and find what we need. But not everyone at my office is computer savy (no body is) and I would like to not have to keep running around and showing everyone this.

Sep 20, 2011After getting the cable set up (some new wireless modem that comcast gave us) we were able to connect to the internet once, after putting in the password, but after that the next day our computer would not recognize any networks at all, it's just say no connections are available.I already:-restarted computer,-reset modem (we used to have a router and a cable modem but now only the wireless modem)-rolled-back drivers,-disabled then re-enable driver (did NOT uninstall or reinstall)-opened the computer up, take out the adapter, tryed and got the dust off-unscrewed and rescrewed antenna- tested a laptop, and it had an internet connection - and probably a few other things which I can't rememberLast time on the computer, I uninstalled a few things with revo, ran registry cleaner, browsed internet, and installed a new nvidia driver (after the problems arose). I was able to install a netgear wireless usb adapter (which is how I'm on the internet right now), but it frequently gitters and I can't use the NetGear for very long seeing as how a different computer uses it.

I can connect to my ISP and DHCP just fine, and I get DNS servers back just fine, but the DIR 615 doesn't serve DNS correctly for the devices on the LAN. If I set the LAN machines' DNS manually to the IP addresses provided by my ISP they can look up hosts just fine. With them pointing at the DIR 615 for DNS they get nothing.
When I attempt to perform a name lookup using the admin System Check -> Ping Test I get "Unknown Host". The same name lookup up by any other LAN machine using the same DNS hosts gets the correct result. I've made sure there's no caching.
