Can't Remote Desktop In From IMac Into Windows Machine
Feb 9, 2012I have a Win 7 machine with Win SBS 2011 in my office and an iMac. The Win machine is being setup for Exchange 2010. My problem is this: I can't Remote Desktop in from my iMac into the Win machine, but CAN when outside the network.The Win7 machine has a static IP, the iMac a dynamic. When I access the internal part of my router I can only see my iMac. I get a "can't connect to win-based machine" error when I try to Remote Connect.The only thing I can think is that using the same gateway is somehow messing things up? I've had two techs try to figure this out and they're both stumped.I was maybe thinking that since both comps are going out the same gateway that I should try anc configure the iMac to try and RDC on a different port, since maybe the iMac is listening on 3389 and sending the RDC back to itself?

Feb 9, 2012Is their a program i can use to see who is doing what then disable their monitor keyboard and mouse. I work for my college/student and i am the assistant admin, my teacher gave me full admin privileges. I would like to have this as untended program where they cant change any thing stays hidden in the back ground. I used team viewer but i have to have them to log each one.

Aug 11, 2011First off, using a iMac Laptop. As I've noticed no one's posted with that yet.Ok. Purchased the DIR-601. I have set up the Admin. Created the Wireless Network (As far as I'm aware) with a WPA-Personal. I think in might be that I need to connect via Static IP. May 23, 2011My 24" iMac has been running off airport extreme wireless Internet for a few months flawlessly. All of a sudden one day our power goes out.. No problem, reset the system: should be fine. Not the case. Now my iMac can connect to the router but the signal is very weak almost useless and sometimes it won't connect at all. I've tried everything... Diagnostics say it's fine but then other times it says no IP address. Other routers work fine though. And the other computers I'm the building all have perfect connection... What do I try?

AT&T DSL
When connected, all lights on modem are green, so is the light on the Time Capsule. When I go to a website, page cannot be displayed. When I insert the ethernet cable directly into the back of the iMac straight from the DSL, the internet works just fine.With all lights green but no internet connection, what am I missing?

Aug 1, 2011I set up my new E2500 last week, and it works fantastic with every device (iPad, 2 iPhones, iMac, DLink usb, ...) EXCEPT my iMac. That connects, but loses the connection very frequently (say at least every half hour) and I need to turn wifi off and on to get it to reconnect.
I've ensured that the iMac has all system updates, and I've checked that the E2500 is the latest firmware.
I've reverted to my old WRT54G for now, I'll have to return the E2500 if it won't work consistently with the iMac.

Laptop (also Windows XP) use of this data for viewing and printing is the objective -- without also installing the program on the laptop. (The catch is frequent updates.)
Both units have access to broadband; direct for PC and wireless router for the laptop. Have no problem also installing program on laptop, if needed: laptop access to current data is the issue. Even doing so via internet would be great. It seems that LAN and Broadband networks are both in play though I don't quite grasp any inherent conflicts.

Mar 6, 2011I regularly perform updates on servers and this normally requires a reboot. I would like to be able to inform my customers when the server is back ASAP. Is there a program that continuously tries to remote to the server until it does or is there a script I can add to the server to send me notification of when the server ia back up?

Nov 2, 2011I have 2 programs located and running of 2 different servers (both server 2003)due to the nature of the company I work for I cannot say what the progams are. Now how our network is set up is Program 1 runs and server 1 and program 2 runs on server 2. server 1 and 2 and all user pc's are connected to a domain run by server 3. The programs 1+2 are installed on user computers and connected to thier respective servers to run. now the problem is program 1 kicks a random number of users off everyday at 10:15AM and program 2 does the same but at 12:45. its the same time and its every day. I have checked all servers for errors or conectivity issues and have found nothing.
