May 15, 2012We had two dozen Aironet 1200 access points and a controller donated to us from a local hospital that no longer needed them. My boss would like me to set one up with 3 VLANs:
- encrypted VLAN for staff
- encrypted VLAN for students
- unencrypted VLAN for guests
Ultimately, we'd like the staff VLAN to have access to all internal network resources, the student VLAN to have access to several pre-defined printers, and the guest VLAN is web-only access. Whether the controller we were given will accommodate that, we won't know until we get one Aironet 1200 programmed and connected to the controller. For the time being, I just want to get this access point programmed with the 3 VLANs.
I'm easily able to get it running a single SSID (non-VLAN) network and confirm that I can use that network fine. However, I need to set up these 3 VLANs. I can connect to it via telnet if that'll let me program it faster.

Jan 3, 2009My Compaq Presario V3015's Internal Wireless Adapter has died so I recently bought an Linksys Expresscard WEC600N to replace it. After installing the software (The Linksys monitor) everything on the program is grayed out except for "exit" which closes the program. After looking at device manager, the adapter isn't even listed their. For some reason, even when just plugging the adapter in after an uninstallation of the software and a restart of the computer, the device never gets detected even when it is clearly on (two blue lights for Power and Link/act). I've tried switching to Windows Wireless Zero connection but under network adapters, it doesn't even show a wireless option, just an LAN one. I'm pretty sure its not so much a hardware issue as it is a software one. Everything works fine except for anything related to wireless capabilities on this laptop.

VLANs on the switch:
1 - Default (for office sutff) - working great,
2 - Production (for production stuff) - working great,
3 - Inter (for Router's) - working great,
4 - WMS - i need configure it as wireless,
5 - WiFi with Radius - i need configure it as wireless.VLANS on the Access Points:
4 - WMS - for warehouse terminals - WPA2,
5 - WiFi for office stuff with Radius.

Mar 22, 2012I have an HP G60-530US laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I bought a Linksys AE1200 USB Wireless Network Adapter because the laptop stopped recognizing the internal wireless adapter. However, when I use the CD that came with the Linksys adapter to install it, the adapter is not detected. I have tried different USB ports and also power-cycling the router & cable modem & rebooting. Nothing seems to work. I also ran the Setup program on my Gateway DX4860 desktop but the Linksys AE1200 is not detected on the desktop, either.

The problem presents itself immediately upon login (because the monitor is set to run on startup) with an error window that says "Abnormal program termination" and "WPC55AGV2.exe" in the title bar. Laptop (also Windows XP) use of this data for viewing and printing is the objective -- without also installing the program on the laptop. (The catch is frequent updates.)
Both units have access to broadband; direct for PC and wireless router for the laptop. Have no problem also installing program on laptop, if needed: laptop access to current data is the issue. Even doing so via internet would be great. It seems that LAN and Broadband networks are both in play though I don't quite grasp any inherent conflicts.

Now how our network is set up is Program 1 runs and server 1 and program 2 runs on server 2. server 1 and 2 and all user pc's are connected to a domain run by server 3. The programs 1+2 are installed on user computers and connected to thier respective servers to run. now the problem is program 1 kicks a random number of users off everyday at 10:15AM and program 2 does the same but at 12:45. its the same time and its every day.
