Change / Hide IP Address For MSDOS Program
Oct 24, 2011I have a program that connects to a game I play and does some actions on my game accounts (selling items etc).
I have set up several accounts to generate "income" in game and want to alter/hide the IP address shown connecting to those accounts so that my own IP is only associated with my main account. However it's an MSDOS program and I dont want to alter the IP shown/used for other programs on my pc.
Is there a way to alter the IP shown for specific programs only? And will it handle MSDOS programes?

May 11, 2011I just bought a DIR 615 (firmware 4.0) which I am using as an access point linked to a Netopia router. The Netopia has QoS enabled and needs to keep it, however I was hoping to use the DIR615 without QoS. I am using a ReadyNas Duo as storage for music, videos etc.Now, here are my issues which I think are all linked.
1) I have a very slow connection wireless, between 1'500 and 2'000kbits/sec download. This was not the case with my very old Linksys router
2) When I try to rip a CD from iTunes to the NAS, it brings up error messages of lost connection and impossibility to rip in the middle of the songs. I did not have that problem with the Linksys router neither.
3) I would like to change the QoS parameters to see how it affects this connection issue, as well as change other Wifi parameters, but they show up as greyed out and I can't change them. (I feel that the DIR 615 might inherit some parameters from the main router, since it is used as an Access Point).

I have Network Magic on all computers and even though it says I'm connected to the internet and the network, I am not able to get online. May 15, 2012We had two dozen Aironet 1200 access points and a controller donated to us from a local hospital that no longer needed them. My boss would like me to set one up with 3 VLANs:
- encrypted VLAN for staff
- encrypted VLAN for students
- unencrypted VLAN for guests
Ultimately, we'd like the staff VLAN to have access to all internal network resources, the student VLAN to have access to several pre-defined printers, and the guest VLAN is web-only access. Whether the controller we were given will accommodate that, we won't know until we get one Aironet 1200 programmed and connected to the controller. For the time being, I just want to get this access point programmed with the 3 VLANs.
I'm easily able to get it running a single SSID (non-VLAN) network and confirm that I can use that network fine. However, I need to set up these 3 VLANs. I can connect to it via telnet if that'll let me program it faster.
Dedicated 2nd Wifi Network Or Change Qos Settings?
Oct 22, 2012In my restaurant, we currently have a password protected wifi network for customers and staff. The load is typically light, so it's worked fine. Now, we're putting in a new cloud-based point of sales system, which effectively means that I need a totally uninterrupted, high quality wireless signal running to the POS terminal (in this case, an iPad). If the terminal is sharing that connection with 15 customers Facebooking on their iPhones, I imagine we'll have some signal issues. I'd rather not install a second network dedicated to the POS terminal. Are there any other possible solutions, i.e. a way to give priority to the terminal over other connections? A way to "split" the existing network so only a portion of it is available to customers?
FYI, current network speed is 20/mbs 2/mbs, and the POS terminal requires a minimum of 7/2 mbs.

Feb 25, 2013I recently received my Arris modem from comcast and during the installation phase I kept looking for an option to change the wifi mode from b/g/n to n only as all my network adapters connecting via wireless are n types and I want the max speed available from the modem. At no time did the option come up to define. So I finished the set-up and eveyone is connected, albeit at 54 Mpbs.I have accessed the modem via 10.0.0.1 after set-up in search of another option where I can revise the wifi mode. No luck. Comcast gave me the backhand lob over to Arris and Arris followed through with an overhead smash at the net.

Jan 3, 2009My Compaq Presario V3015's Internal Wireless Adapter has died so I recently bought an Linksys Expresscard WEC600N to replace it. After installing the software (The Linksys monitor) everything on the program is grayed out except for "exit" which closes the program. After looking at device manager, the adapter isn't even listed their. For some reason, even when just plugging the adapter in after an uninstallation of the software and a restart of the computer, the device never gets detected even when it is clearly on (two blue lights for Power and Link/act). I've tried switching to Windows Wireless Zero connection but under network adapters, it doesn't even show a wireless option, just an LAN one. I'm pretty sure its not so much a hardware issue as it is a software one. Everything works fine except for anything related to wireless capabilities on this laptop.
