I am really stuck in enabling ip routing though a simple task. I have configured 10 v LAN's in stacked 3750 switches have ip base image. I want to enable ip routing for inter V LAN communication but it is giving this error:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI attempted to enable jumbo frames on a Nexus 5010 (NX-OS version 4.2(1)N1(1)). I created the policy map below and lost access to the switch.

After recovery I see from the logs that all vlans and interface were suspended. I've attempted to look for reasons for a compatibility issue but I am unable to find what is checked and what could have been incompatible. The other troubling thing is the adjacent switch suspended its interfaces too but no change was done there. What I need to look out for so that this does not happen again?

What I would like to know is what are the effects of having the master switch itself lose power? Does it immediately just make the member take over master (there should be no election since there are only 2 switches??) and there would be no loss of connectivity?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having some problems when upgrading the IOS of my Catalyst 3750 switch through a tftp server. I've been surfing the net and found that there seems to be a problem when the image file is larger than 16M but this is not my case.I erased the flash to be sure that there was enough memory space to upload the image but didnt work.I also tried with archive download-sw /overwrite command and using a ftp server but the problem is the always the same: [code]To make sure it was not a problem of my computer or tftp server, I tried with a different computer and with a different tftp server but the same happen. I also tried with a 3750V2 and still the same. Even when trying to backup the current IOS to my computer, I got "error writing".
Then, I have tried to do the same with a different model of switch, a WS-C3560-48PS and it works perfect.I still need to try using Xmodem but Xmodem takes ages to finalize the process.
Have a small stack of two 3750 routers. Get the following error message every few secounds:

Now I replaced the stacking cables but no joy. It was ok for an hr or so but then the error messages popped up again. Also random links on this stack back to access layer user switches have been going up and down randomly. So I have decided to take the next step and upgrade the IOS.
Although when I try and copy a new IOS I get the following error:

Seems this image is 130MB while the image that is currently on it is 74MB and free space is 54MB. How do I get the image onto the router? If I delete the current image from flash will that cause the router to stop functioning?
Also I noticed there seems to be more than one flash directory. See below:

I am getting this error on my PIX 535 with 8.0.4 code. The error is Error : OSPF/RIP cannot be enabled on failover interface, I am getting this error while trying to enable RIP on the firewall. The context is single mode and failover is enabled. When I am disabling the failover the Firewall is accepting the RIP configurations.

For example if I plug PC A to the phone that connects to port 13 I pick up an IP addressand all works as predicted now if I plug in PC A to any other VOIP phone that connect to another port on the same switch it goes in error disable state ITs like the switch is holding my PC mac address and locks it down with the port which in my case is Gi2/0/13.

We have ip arp inspection and dhcp snooping enable in couple of 3750 and 3560 switches. Everything works fine, excepted few case that DAI packet rate trigger and errdisable the port. Later on we found out that most of computer that trigger DAI is Windows 7 and especially when they are in sleep mode. Not sure if anyone experiencing it with Windows 7. Also we have it rate limit at 64.

When accessing the E3200 router using then ERROR 501.Not Implemented.That method is not implemented. The error occured after enabling the "Local Management Access, Access via: HTTPS" option on the Administration > Management tab.I tried different browsers FireFox (version 10), Internet Explorer (version 8,9), the same error was displayed and no acces granted to the E3200 router. I reseted the router and tried the latest firmware 1.0.03 build 9 Feb 1, 2012, but after enablib the option the issue occured again and it is not possible to connect to the router.

My switch has 12 ports where my devices connects directly, they are all on Vlan 1 and they all work perfectly. on Port 12 I have a dlink router that is connected to a cable modem. the dlink router has an Ip address of 192.168.0.20
I created a second vlan (vlan2) and enabled dhcp relay on it. then I assigned port 9 on the switch to (vlan2)my laptop which is connected to port 9 seems to get an ip address fine and able to ping only some devices on my network (vlan1) and is not able to go out to the internet. I think it has to do with the routes. [code]

The 3750 switch I have runs C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M, Version 12.2(55)SE3 on a LAN BASE license.
The first thing I have done is to order for a license upgrade to IP BASE which would give the support for OSPF routing.I do not see much of an issue with the Interface configs, however, I am not too sure about replicating the routing config on the switch.
My question is can I run the commands as shown for the OSPF routing on the switch? If not, can I get suggestions on how best to set this up on the switch?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running into what seems a basic ip routing config problem with a Catalyst 3750 (IP Base) switch. I have several VLANS configured on the switch with IP routing enabled, and the switch is connected to the inside interace of a new ASA 5520 as follows:
ASA5520 IP (Default gateway): 192.168.1.1Switchport Gi1/0/1 is configured as a routed port, IP address 192.168.1.3 255.255.255.0Example VLAN is VLAN 100, IP address 192.168.100.1 255.255.252.0 From the switch CLI, I can ping all VLAN addresses, as well as the ASA5520, and the client laptop I'm testing with from VLAN 100.
From the client laptop on VLAN 100, I can ping all switch interface and VLAN addresses (inter-VLAN routing is working), including 192.168.1.3, but I CANNOT ping the default gateway at 192.168.1.1.

When this software is point to switch, the process of the switch will next to 100% and reset. The software only do a listening on the ports to see what ports are opened and the switch should not reset because this. Bellow is the log os switch on the moment of test; we note that the processess 'HTTP' rise moments before the switch reset. I disable the HTTP service on switch but the problem persist. The test was made only one machine connected to switch.

We know that we can change the System MTU to 9000, and someone on a previous thread said that we can change the Routing MTU to 9000 as well, although I couldn't figure out how to do that. However, regardless of how we configure the System MTU and Routing MTU, I don't think we're able to adjust the MTU on L3 VLAN interfaces, so if we want to actually "route" between VLANs on the switch, we're limited to 1500 MTU.
Our situation is that we have a customer connecting to our 3750 switch, and this customer wants to use Jumbo frames. The customer connects to our 3750 switch via their own VLAN, with their own L3 VLAN interface configured on the switch. The customer will point their traffic towards the L3 VLAN interface, then we want to route them onto another VLAN, via a different L3 VLAN interface, before forwarding their traffic. Because of the limitations noted above, specificially regarding the routing between these VLANs via L3 interfaces, I do not think we'll be able to support 9000 MTU frames on this 3750 switch. I think the L3 VLAN interfaces will limit us to 1500 MTU, regardless of what we configured via the global System MTU and Routing MTU settings.
How do you properly remove the QOS queues and configs from the switch.A was using auto qos which created a whole mess of qos configs on my running-config. I did "no mls qos" in conf term but that did not remove the queues.
