View 4 Replies View RelatedI have connected my 2504 to a 3560 switch via a UTP SFP on a Gig port.
I have my management on 10.0.0.x I have tried tagging the port and untagging.
When I connect to the 3560 the interface comes up a-1000 a-full but when I look on the WLC the port I am using, port 1, shows Link status down.
The green light is on both the WLC port and the 3560 port but I cannot get the link status to come up on the WLC nor can I ping the WLC.
It must be something dumb I have missed.
The WLC port is autonegotiate too.
We have around 70 1131's on our 4404 WLC and there are around 5 of them which always seem to reset themselves to Admin Status = Disable. They are in H-REAP mode as are all the other AP's, but for some reason I have to keep going in and setting the Admin Status of the AP to Enable. This has been occuring across different firmaware versions since 4, we are currently running 7.

Is there a way to prevent this certificate error while using the self signed certificate? I have not been successful installing certificates on my WLC - problems with OpenSSL and others. Want to get this deployed but don't want users to have to encouter that error.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have currently a 2504 WLC and some 1602i AP's.Basically so far i have configured the WLC as per the guidelines on the startup and now i want to join the AP's (which i haven't managed to do yet) and the setup the wireless network.I can get the AP to join and pickup an ip address and that is it. It comes up with different error messages from the WLC, and through hyper terminal, none of which i understand but the main jist is the following:

I have a WLC 2504 with 5 AP licenses for which I have installed an adder license via GUI. The installation completed successfully, but I still cannot view the new license. The maximum number of APs is still showing as 5 and in fact I cannot add more that 5 APs. I tried installing the license file again, but now I get a "duplicate" error.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just setup a new WLC 2504 controller to manage a WiFi service that will span 6 geographic locations. The local networks at each location are on different subnets (all 192.168.x.x) and are linked up via IPSEC VPN links, and there is Active Directory spanning the sites, with DNS and DHCP servers running at each location.
I tested the WLC at our main office with a single AP, and it worked fine. The AP set itself up, and wireless devices connect with no probs. Great! Yesterday I headed out to one of our remote sites, and connected an AP to their network - and that seemed to work fine too. Within a few minutes I was able to see the WiFi network I'd setup, and my smartphone connected to it straight away (as I'd rpeviously connected at the main office), so I was pretty happy that all was working well.
This morning however I've had notification that wifi performance at the remote site isn't great. I've got someone to check their ip address, and I've found that their IP address and default gateway match the LAN at the main office where the WLC is based - NOT the LAN where the wireless client is. Obvioulsy this is not ideal!
(I guess I HAVE done something wrong!?). And how can I get wireless clients at remote sites to pick up an IP from the DHCP server at THEIR site?
I am getting this error on my PIX 535 with 8.0.4 code. The error is Error : OSPF/RIP cannot be enabled on failover interface, I am getting this error while trying to enable RIP on the firewall. The context is single mode and failover is enabled. When I am disabling the failover the Firewall is accepting the RIP configurations.

This is my first time dealing with a router such as this and I wonder what I need to do to enable QoS.
My keyboard was broken so plugged in a USB keyboard that doesn't have a fn button. I must have accidentally pressed something as my comp is asking me to turn in the wireless capability. There is no button on the computer and the light for wifi is off. How to turn this back on with a keyboard that does not have a fn button?

I play Diablo 3 and the lag that is created when the router restarts as well as getting booted, along with apps on my phones locking up are about to make me throw the DLink Equipment against the wall.
FYI - the Comcast modem was just upgraded to the Xfinity Voice modem becuase I puchased two Voice lines last week. The issue was happening before the new modem was insatlled, and after. According to the Comcast Modem's status page (192.168.100.1) the modem has been online for 4 days, 6 hours, and 31 minutes. So I know the modem has not been cycling.
I'm about to purchase 2 Aironet APs, either 1140 or 1160 Series for a small Business. I know too little about the AP installation. How to let both APs works in Roaming Mode so that users can move freely within the site without having to drop and connect from one AP to the other.

View 4 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago I noticed that at 9:00am sharp every morning my internet access dropped, and would come back up four minutes later.
The router is connected to a DSL-526B in bridge mode. My first thought was that the modem was playing up, so I factory reset it and reconfigured it.
I checked my ACLS and didn't see any rules that started or ended at 9:00 am so I just lived with it for a week or so until it got so annoying I contacted my ISP to see if they were resetting anything at 9am.
By accident, I saw that my wireless radio was being enabled aat 9:00am, as it had been for the last 2 years, when I first bought the router. But this problem has only started a few weeks ago.
So I changed the wireless schedule to see if that was really the cause for the reset, and sure enough, whatever time I changed the wireless schedule to, the router rebooted at that time.
I've also factory reset the router; twice; the first time I saved/restored my configuration, the second time I recreated all configuration from scratch.

This other lap top I can connect either wired or wireless so the router seems to be working perfectlyThe problem is when I enable the HP laptop wireless adaptor and try to connect to the net . As soon as I do this the orange light on the router goes solid from blinking and I cannot then access the net from any of the computers either wired or wireless. I have to disable the HP wireless adaptor and reboot the router to get a connection on the computers.
