Cisco WAN :: Terminate New 10M Link Via Ethernet Interface On 1841 Router?

Dec 19, 2010

We want to terminate new 10M link via Ethernet interface on Cisco 1841 router. We have free Gig port on the router. We also have HWIC-FE module inserted in the router. However, our implementation team said that Cisco 1841 doesn't support 10M link. It is not designed to cater to such high Bandwidth.

Cisco WAN :: 2811 / 2911 - 1Gbps WAN Router

Feb 13, 2011

Putting in a 1Gbps private Ethernet link between 2 sites. Currently have 2 2811's at each location, don't think that will cut it.

I was going to get 2 2911's, but looking at the docs it looks like they can only do 180mbps of throughput? Am I way out of my league here?

Asus P8Z68-V PRO Can't Connect At 1Gbps

Jan 10, 2012

I have a PC that I built with an Asus P8Z68-V PRO motherboard and I just bought the Negear WNDR4500 router. I am unable to connect to the PC to the router at a link speed of 1Gbps. when I go into the properties of the nic card and set it to 1Gbps, it doesn't connect and says the network cable is disconnected. If I choose auto-negotiation, it will only connect at 100Mbps. I have other devices that can connect to the router at 1Gbps just fine. I have tried the latest nic drivers from Asus's site, I tried installing windows 7 64bit from scratch, I reset the router, upgraded the firmware. all my cables are cat6 or better and I even tried removing all other devices from my router. I just can't get it to connect at 1Gbps.

Can't Enable 1Gbps LAN On Server - Refuses And Goes Into 100 Mbps Mode

Apr 6, 2011

So I have a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Enterprise Server and a gigabit LAN network card onboard. But it refuses to run at gigabit speed and if forced to it, it just says that network cable is unplugged and doesn't work.

I tried switching to a newer and better motherboard (still with gigabit LAN)I have updated drivers.I have checked cables (which are all cat 6 cables and work just fine with other computers in gigabit LAN mode)I've checked and switched ports on the switch and the switch itself...no change. They work just fine with other non-W2008 machines, they get gigabit LAN

I am completely stomped as to what I can do to fix this. It runs just fine in 100 Mbit mode, but can't in any way get it in gigabit mode.I am completely stomped as to why it refuses...is this a limitation of Windows 2008 or something or is there a fix to this?

Cisco WAN :: 3750 And 4507 / 1Gbps Link / Sweep Ping Dropping Packets?

Dec 29, 2010

We are testing a new 1Gbps WAN circuit between 2 sites. We have cisco 3750 and 4507 on each end. Every time we run extended ping sweep ranging from 36 to 18024 bytes the packets are being dropped randomly once the size goes above 1500 bytes. Our ISP claims Demark to Demark test are clean and they don't want to acknowledge the problem, they blame our switches. To prove the problem is not on our end we've put different switches at each end, still facing the same issue. Ping success rate is around 98 to 99 percent.

Cisco WAN :: 3945E And NM-8CE1T1-PRI Compatibility

Dec 16, 2011

I have inherited a 3945E router with an NM-8CE1T1-PRI card installed in slot 2 using the SM-NM adapter card. The command 'card type E1 2' has been issued but I only see interfaces Serial2/0:0 to Serial2/0:30.

Since it as 8 port card I was also expecting there to be
Serial2/1:0 to Serial2/1:30
Serial2/2:0 to Serial2/2:30
etc etc.......
Serial2/7:0 to Serial2/7:30

The router will not allow me to issue a sub slot number with the card type command.

Am I missing something in the configuration or is there an issue with this card and router combination? The show inventory has the following:

NAME: "Network Module Adapter for SM Slot on Slot 2", DESCR: "Network Module Adapter for SM Slot"
PID: SM-NM-ADPTR       , VID: V01, SN: FOCxxxxxxxx

NAME: "8 port channelized and PRI T1/E1 NM on Slot 2", DESCR: "8 port channelized and PRI T1/E1 NM"
PID: NM-8CE1T1-PRI     , VID: V01 , SN: FOCxxxxxxxx

It doesn't give any errors when booting up and the router is running c3900e-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-1.T.bin IOS.

Cisco WAN :: 3945E Maximum Throughput Potential?

Jan 8, 2011

Am looking at purchasing a router that is capable of serving a WAN bearer at up to 1Gbps.  The 3945E has had good reviews as a high throughput router but the datasheets suggests performance of 350Mbps.  It also states that additional performance can be ensured by adding SPE modules. Whether the 3945E could achieve up to 1Gbps with SPE modules?

If the 3945E can't achieve such performance, The key features I am after are:

IPV4 and IPV6 support
L2tpV3 support
BGP
IP SLA
1Gb Copper Connections on-board with capability of at least 4 Ports

Cisco WAN :: 3945 Vs 3945E From VPN Feature Perspective

Jan 20, 2013

I have an issue understanding the difference between 3945 and 3945E from VPN support perspective.

If you check this link here:

[URL]

You will see that the 3945E doesn't even have an ISM slot for a VPN ISM module and of course I could not find any ISM module for 3945E (I think this is obvious). Nevertheless, the above mentioned page and

[URL]

say "Embedded hardware-accelerated VPN encryption for secure connectivity" for 3945E

That the Cisco 3945E supports the same VPN features (including packet encryption / decryption in hardware) like a Cisco 3945 with VPN ISM card?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3945E - Bandwidth Percentage For Nested Policy Maps

Jul 15, 2012

I'm trying wrap my head around bandwidth guarantee for nested maps. I tried adding a new class to two of my policy-maps today, and got this error: 3945E-1(config-pmap-c)#bandwidth 3000 Insufficient bandwidth 3000 kbps for the bandwidth guarantee

I'm not sure how it knows that with the nested maps and how it's computed. I have a 100mb WAN connectin going to 19 branches. I have a class-map that identifies traffic to the individual branch and within that class, a policy-map is applied to prioritize voice over video etc.

Here's the QoS setup:

class-map Branch1-Policy
match access-group branch-1-acl
*
*

[code]....

I was adding the Video-Conf class to both Traffic-6calls and Traffic-10calls when I got the above error.  How would that percentage be calculated? I know by default i can only reserve up to 75% of interface bandwidth. The platform is 3945E running 15.1(3)

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5510 - Terminate Second ISP Link On One Of DMZ Interface?

Jun 20, 2011

On our ASA 5510 we already have one ISP link terminated on outside interface. There is correspoinding nat and global configured for outbound access to internet.

Now we need to terminate second ISP link on one of the DMZ interface to have redundancy for the primary ISP.

When primary ISP link or router is down we need to send all the traffic to secondary ISP router.  How do we configure NAT and global for this condition that only when primary is down then only this NAT -Global should be used.  Do we have anything like object tracking associated with the NAT-global.

So that as long as Primary  RTR - object is up ASA will use the first NAT-Global pair. When primary ISP is down RTR-Object is not reachable then ASA will perform the second NAT-Global operation.

Also can we have default route pointing to Outside interface (primary ISP router) and in case of primary router failure it will point to secondary ISP. Do we have "track"  in the static route commands on ASA.
