On our 6504 - 12.2(33)SXH, we currently have a single connection to our ISP (GI1/1) and want to add another connection (GI1/2) Is there a way to bond the two connections to form a single connection (a single pipe) to double the throughput?
View 3 RepliesI only have access to rather slow connections (256 Kbps). But since I have two lines and two modems, I was wondering if I could bond them together and make a faster one. My main modem is a Lynksys WAG120N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router, which as you can see is also in charge of both wired and wireless networks at my place. The second one is an older D-Link ADSL modem (JUST modem).Since I have an extra LAN port on my Lynksys modem, I want to know if and how I can connect the second modem, and combine the two rates.

setting up a simple internet plan for a place, but a LAN center needs crazy fast internet, faster than most large enterprise class offices that take up an entire floor or two. Otherwise there is too much lag in games like first person shooters. We are expecting to have 60 computers, plus people bringing their own gaming rigs from home and laptops as well, xbox, ps3 and other consoles, all accessing the internet at the same time to varying degrees, with no room for lag. There is a LAN center in california that has 200 or more computers and they pay for 9 t3 lines, which is thousands and thousands of dollars per month. Plus the initial equipment to set that up from what I can find on cdw is many thousands of dollars also. Something like 10,000 for a router with 4 expansion bays, and 4000-6000 dollars for a t3 expansion card, bringing the total to around 22-28,000 for equipment to do just 4 t3's. Plus the monthly cost. Since we don't need all of the traffic to be secured like a high end business class line like a t3, I was considering what it would be like, and how one would set up, having multiple cable internet lines coming in. They make cable wic cards for cisco routers. 4, 50meg cable lines would give us 200 down and 40 up but I don't know how to make that work without having multiple public ip's. I was thinking that if I did have multiple public ip's on the network I could just divide the computers up so that they are in groups, using all of the public ip addresses for gateways, so that the load is split pretty evenly, but still, there should be a more seamless way to do this, I just don't know what it is. At the rate for business cable internet, 4 lines would probably only cost around 700 dollars a month, which is much better than probably 5 grand a month for several t3 lines.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi can only connect to my router at 144mbps(wireless N) every so often i notice my router will channel bond to 11+7, and i can connect at 300mbps!(lasts like 5 minutes) then just randomly dies and will only reconnect at 144mbps. Its not a wireless card problem since my old netgear 3700 died on me it connected up just fine at 300mbps.i use inSSIDer and i can verify that it only connects using 1 channel(i've set to auto) and tried setting to each individual channel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing firmware 1.0.01, has anyone successfully gotten the E4200 to bond two channels using the 2.4GHz spectrum? I just can't get it to bond. I assume it's a firmware issue, yet to be fixed. I've tried settings Auto (20 or 40), and nada. It has never bonded. The 5 GHz bonds fine. There are a few interferences by the neighbours wifi, but nothing substantial that should prevent bonding. I have this router at school too, and the same thing happens there, with the same firmware, so I doubt it's an interference issue. I'm using WPA2 Personal encryption. I tried auto channel, and setting channels to 1, 3, 5, and 11, nothing changed.
I know I'm not bonded because A. Max link speed is ~144Mbps, and B. using a program like inSSIDer tells me I'm only using one channel on the 2.4Ghz spec.
I was wondering if it is possible to install a certain operating system on a network HDD. any possible install a virtual machine or use that as a remote desktop to retrieve on a ipad.

1. OS: n3000-uk9.5.0.3.U2.2.bin
2. Peer link: 10 x 1G (E1/1 - E1/10) on both devices (I am wondering that 1G interface supports vPC Peer-Link. I heard that upgrading to U3.2 image will work for 1G rather than 10G... )
3. They can ping each other via management IPs
4. Edge switches vPC have not been built yet (I am focusing on Peer-Link and vPC role selection)

Lan is 172.16.0.126
Wan is 10.161.48.1
The computer using the VPN will need a virtual IP on the Lan of the RV082 so that it is seen as being on the same network as the equipment on the LAN.
I'm trying to reset this router back to its original form (pass: admin (?)) but the ''hold the reset button for 45 seconds and unplug for 30 seconds'' just doesn't seem to work. When I try to install with the CD it just keeps saying that I have to reset it. how do you reset the WRT120N? Are the lights suppose to blink to indicate that you're done holding the reset bottom?

WISM2 is installed in an appropriate slot (according to same doco) and have attempted reset to factory defaults, removing and power cycling several times.

We have implemented VSS on Cisco 6504-E switches using the 10GE links on the Sup-720-10GE. Two Cisco WLC 5508 controllers are planned to be connected in a LAG configuration, (consisting of eight links per LAG bundle) to each of the 6504-E chassis( Total of four WLC, two for the primary location and two for secondary location). WLC HA feature may be implemented on the primary and secondary WLC controllers using the 7.3 latest code release.
In this scenario, i would like to seek clarification on some of the design /configuration requirements on the 6504E switches:
1. VLAN 100 - 200 is configured for the Active Primary 6504-E switch and VLAN 200-300 for the Standby 6504-E switch. The IP scopes for the VLAN are defined in the 172.16.x.x range on the Primary and 172.17.x.x on the secondary. As there no cross links(Multichassis LAG) from the WLC controllers to the 6504-E switches, is it better off implementing a single common VLAN range on a single subnet block for the VSS, which in the event of say Primary switch failure, the Wireless APs do not have to re-associate with a different IP range on the secondary? What is the best design practise in this case?
2. What is the best practise for implementing a single management loopback address for the VSS domain- is this implemented using a port channel (Layer 3 MEC) as below? and is the loopback IP address on a totally different IP range reference to point 1 above?
Can the VLAN IP ranges on the 6504-E VSS be assigned in two different subnets say 172.16/12(100-200) and 17.17/12(300-400) and the common loopback (lo0) in 172.18.x.x/32 or is it better to have one common 172.16/12 subnet spanning the entire VLAN range (100-400). Cisco documentation describes creating port channels from the line card card physical ports as opposed to just creating lo0 and advertising this into the IGP.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two usb modem A and modem B. modem A could download at max of 300kbps while B could download at max of 700kbps. Since I am a frequent internet user, Im planning to use this two modem simultaneously so that I could have a max speed of 500+300=800+kbps. But I dont know if this would work. The problem with usb modem is that, when you connect the modem A in the internet while modem B is currently running, Modem B is being disregarded right? I was thinking of, say while im browsing and downloading, modem A would be use for browsing and modem B is for downloading. Or them may either share each connection for better performance.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe recently wanted to swap our existing WS-SUP720-base with a WS-SUP720-3B in a 6513 chassis.Had the existing configuration config saved in a txt file and replaced the supervisor. Booting went fine and we pasted in the original config. There was one failure message about unnsupported command but didnt take further notice."boot system flash sup-bootflash:" was probaly the line that the 720-3B didnt support.After wr mem and reload it went in continious loop and rebooting due to inncorrect boot device. Had to put back the old supervisor and have now the 720-3B in a 6504 chassis. Tried some commands in rommon, but are not getting any further.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a single workstation on an AS400 domain server, which is administered by a contract company, that continues to freeze up and then is kicked out of the network. The strange thing is that the computer also gets kicked off the Internet at the same time. I had the employee work from her laptop using the WI-FI connection while I attempted to troubleshoot the problem, and the laptop had the same thing happen. The strange thing is that she is the only one this is happening to. I originally thought it was a bad ethernet cable or bad port on the switch, but after the laptop had the same thing happen I decided the problem was else where. The contract company says that the problem has to be on my end, but thing that there could be something in her settings causing the problem. I have pinged the server with no problem, run a trace route with no errors reported, and made sure that the computer is set to a static IP as well. I have checked to make sure there are no other PC's. I also connected the cable to a different port on the office switch, connected my laptop with no problem, and had another employee sign onto her PC with a different sign on with no problems.

Is it possible to have the above scenario, or even NAT 12.2.1.1 from the first NAT back to 10.99.1.1??
