Oct 14, 2012I recently ran an upgrade on my 6509-E's and when the first switch came back up, 3 of the 10/100 switches that were in the chassis did not power on. After further investigation, these models are not supported by this latest IOS version. The module # is : WS-X6248-RJ-45
We have one WS-X6348-RJ-45 and since it was a few weeks ago I did this I can't remember for sure but I believe this one came up.
Where can I found the information regarding this being unsupported but I know it is out there and any page that showed me that this was unsupported with the latest stable IOS of 12.(33).
In addition to this question, I have approval to purchase some newer gigabit switches that will be supported by this new IOS version and hopefully at least the next few over the next few years. Which specific gig models are currently and hopefully should be supported for the next few years? I don't need PoE or anything spectacular, just regular switches that are attached to either servers or virtual hosts. I've been looking at the lists of what is out there and it seems like there are hundreds of different models and it is becoming difficult to determine what is what.

Dec 23, 2011I bought the DIR-615 router from Futureshop awhile ago because my Linksys WRT54G router keeps dropping connection every couple of hours. I have to unplug the router and re-plug it in order for it work again. On the DIR-615 admin page, it states Firmware Version: 5.10. Is this the latest firmware?
I'm trying to upgrade the firmware because I still experience connection drops from time to time (but not as much as I did with WRT54G)... it usually occurs when multiple devices are pulling signal from the router (for ex. PC#1 + PC#2 + laptop). I've just disabled "Short GI" as mentioned in another forum post here.

Sep 5, 2011I'm setting up an ASA 5505 with IOS 8.4(2) and ASDM 6.4(5) using the SSL client (well, and the Clientless SSL, but one thing at a time.) This is for a SOHO (they're on a cable modem) such that I should be able to remotely VPN into this system from anywhere on the Internet for support purposes.
I have the certificate generated, I can authenticate via AnyConnect - no errors. I'm used to using NAT exempt commands to move forward, but the ASA is telling me that my commands are invalid (as are the suggestions from the Cisco site, which apply to an earlier version of the ASA's software.) My local LAN access is fine.
I can't ping anything on the only network behind the firewall. (I can ping myself.)If I do a "route print" on my Windows box, it is routing correctly.I've got to be missing something basic, but for the life of me, I can't see it. The best solution for me would be if all the switches could be reloaded at the same time to shorten the maintenance-windows. So my question is: If I run the upgrade (archive down load -sw) before the maintenance-windows WITHOUT the reload-option, will then the switches continue to run without interruptions with the current IOS- version and config until I run reload manually?
