this is the only thing i see - but what i entered does not work - port is still closed.

main house - comcast modem and wifi router <--------> guest house - WIFI bridge - ethernet cable to a WIFI router - my apple laptop. WIFI bridge is ASUS with DD-WRT firmware. i get good speed up to 20mbps/4mbps (down/up)
transmission works, but the port is closed ? doe it really matter ? what can i do to open the port (for e. "61622") ?

Jan 9, 2012Is there reason why WS-C3560C-8PC-S and WS-C3560C-12PC-S is not supported in Cisco Network Assistent? According to the data sheets for these switches CNA should be supported. I saw another forum post stating that the Gigabit versions has been added to the supported list as of version 5.7."The Cisco Catalyst 3560-C and 2960-C Series compact switches offer both the traditional Cisco CLI for detailed configuration and Cisco Network Assistant software, a PC-based tool for quick configuration based on preset templates."

Oct 14, 2012I recently ran an upgrade on my 6509-E's and when the first switch came back up, 3 of the 10/100 switches that were in the chassis did not power on. After further investigation, these models are not supported by this latest IOS version. The module # is : WS-X6248-RJ-45
We have one WS-X6348-RJ-45 and since it was a few weeks ago I did this I can't remember for sure but I believe this one came up.
Where can I found the information regarding this being unsupported but I know it is out there and any page that showed me that this was unsupported with the latest stable IOS of 12.(33).
In addition to this question, I have approval to purchase some newer gigabit switches that will be supported by this new IOS version and hopefully at least the next few over the next few years. Which specific gig models are currently and hopefully should be supported for the next few years? I don't need PoE or anything spectacular, just regular switches that are attached to either servers or virtual hosts. I've been looking at the lists of what is out there and it seems like there are hundreds of different models and it is becoming difficult to determine what is what.

Apr 15, 2013I have a 2 cisco switches that are at different sites one is a Cisco CAT4500 and other 3560. The connection between the switches is a layer 2 fibre link. CAT4500 and 3560 both have VLAN interface ip addresses in order for me to connect to the switches.
I have PC A connected to CAT4500 and PC B connecting to 3560. All these devices are the same VLAN and in the same subnet. I do have trunk links all the way though allowing this vlan as we run vlans. From PC A, I can ping CAT4500, 3560 and even PC B. This tells me everything is fine regarding Layer 2 & 3.
As soon as I move PC B and connect it to the other switch CAT4500 or move the other PC vice versa (this happens in both directions). Both switches learn that the mac address has moved locations and updates its mac address table accordingly. So when I do a show mac address table and show arp, everything has learned and moved fine. However when I try to ping any other device from PC B I cannot. So the 3560 switch PC B was originally connected to, I can no longer ping, the switch cannot see the pc also. It is as if PC B has not learned anything from the switch and cannot respond or reply to any icmp. I have tried this with different end devices, same thing. I am now thinking it has something to do with the switch.

Dec 29, 2011I just set up a new Cisco 300 Series Switch to replace an old switch on our network. We have probably 6 switches around our facility, all of them working fine (except for this one).
We have Windows SBS 2008. If I plug a PC directly into the switch that is NOT configured for SBS (in other words, it hasn't joined the domain) I have no problems accessing the internet. However if I connect PCs configured for SBS that have joined the domain to the switch, they can only access our intranet and not connect out to the internet.
The switch is currently configured for a static IP address and the client PCs are all dynamic.

Apr 12, 2011I have a 3560 series switch and two comcast cable modems. I connected the modems to them switch via cross over cables and set an OSPF routing on their subnets. I connected my wireless router to another port of the switch and set its gateway IP on the switch port. I can ping the modem with the switch and I can ping the wireless too. But I cannot access to the Internet via the wireless router.
I need load balancing on two cable modems and get a single network connection via the wireless router.

Jul 22, 2012I'm in the process of configuring QOS on a 3560 routing switch in a GOLD, SILVER, BRONZE priority type scenario.
Firstly, I understand that this config will add a tag of "precedence 5" to a packet if it matches the "ACL_QOS_GOLD_In" access list. Question is does the router see this "precedence 5" tag and then sets the priority, or am I missing something in my config where at present it just sees the "precedence 5" and doesn’t act on it ?
Secondly, Since the "precedence 5" tag has already been added to the packets, do downstream routers see this tag and act accordingly or so I need to configure those is well ? [code]

Currently all the cisco phones are connected to this switch and configuration with only one vlan that is voice vlan .
1) what is the outcome of this configuration , i mean, what will be the expected output ? end of the day we need to prioritize the voice traffic but why other commands including threshold and buffers are mentioned with respectives queues , if I need to explain that what am i expecting out of this configuration ?
2) this is LAN QoS which i understood but again , do i need to configure policy-map along with class-map which is MQC on this switch ?
3) i have edge router where i have MQC already configured but confusion with this switch which is working as a Access switch .
4) I referred the cisco QoS document for the respetive model whereas we have policy-map configured on the same switch with class-map .
My understanding is if we have configured the LAN QoS , and mapped the CoS value with DSCP , we need not to have MQC.

Mar 10, 2013I am using 3560 switch senerio is that we have dhcp server on and I want that switch filter mac on whole switch ports not on a some port. Switch only give IP to the mac whcih is in mac table of switch/particular which we enter manually.I have read chapter 62 of port security but it doesnot fulfill my requirements.I am also using 3com 5500Ei switch in which we dont have to bind a mac on every port, we just enter a mac in the switch and it filter itself by using simple commands.DHCP server is not in our hands, we cant do any things there.
