Is there any wrong with the IOS version?
I'm trying to configure my C3550 with fast ethernet port 0/48 assigned to vlan 2 in static access mode and SVI vlan 2 configured as dhcp client.
But I see command ip address dhcp is not available on interface vlan 2:

Could it be a problem related to the version running on the equipment (see below the output of sh version command not sure of what EA1 stands for)? I read here [URL] that this command was introduced in version 12.1(2)T

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 5 routers. Four routers are: c2801-IPBASEK9-m v 12.4(24)T2. One router is a C2800-IPBASEK9-M v 12.4(24)T3. so, it appears that the IOS on all 5 routers is very similar, the only difference is the T3 at the end of the version and that 4 are 2801s and one is a 2800. What is very wierd is the 4 2801 have the embedded scripting language "tclsh". The 2800 does not have tclsh. If I issue the command: tclsh on the 2800, I get:

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have an ADSL connection and use a D-Link DSL-320B modem. We have a D-Link DIR-120 router connected to this modem. This has worked perfectly fine up until today when we disconnected the router and connected a computer (call it A) directly to the modem because it was getting an unusable connection through the router for some reason. We later also performed a factory reset on the DIR-120 router.
Unfortunately, after the above steps the router did not receive any IP address (through DHCP) from the ADSL connection anymore. During my attempts to debug this I noticed that my laptop (call it B) didn't get any IP address either (when connected directly to the modem). I noticed the following syslog entries repeating over and over while trying to connect: [code]
At this point computer A could still get a connection just fine tho (when connected directly to the modem).
I then tried to change the MAC address of the router to an arbitrary one (a copy of computer B's MAC address but with the last digit increased by one). The router still did not get assigned any IP address. Finally I tried making the router clone the MAC address of a third computer (call it C). C has never been connected directly to the modem. Doing this worked. After cloning the MAC address of computer C the router is immediately assigned an IP address and the internet connection works as it did prior to all this.
Now, my question is, why would computer B and the original MAC address of the router not be able to get an IP address while two other computers worked just fine? Why would changing to an arbitrary MAC address not work while cloning the MAC address of another computer did? Could the router's MAC address have been blocked by the ISP for some reason (and what could cause this)?
but my situation seems more like a blacklisting of some MAC addresses rather then allowing just a single MAC address.
I have a stack of 3750's running IOS 12.2(25). "IP forward-protocal" command is configured, but the IP helper command is just not an option to put on an interface. Any have any idea of why that could be?

I am in the process of setting up ACS 5.2 for a network and have run into an issue when attempting to apply the following aaa commands to a network device:
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ local if-authenticated
aaa authorization commands 1 default group tacacs+ if-authenticated
aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ local if-authenticated
Once the commands have been applied to the device configuration I get "command authorization failed" when attempting to do anything. Taking a quick look at the TACACS Authorization reports I see a failure reason of "13025 Command failed to match a Permit rule" and under the Selected Command Set "Deny All Commands" is listed. After doing a bit of searching, I noticed some articles online that indicate I should be able to specify the appropriate command set to the authorization profile under the Default Device Admin policy. However, when I open up a Device Administration Authorization Policy, nowhere in the window does it display command sets that I can select from.

What is a routed mac entry? Are there any issues with running that mac aging-time command?
We also plan to run this command "mac-address-table aging-time 14400" to keep our ARP and CAM tables on the same aging time to reduce unicast flooding on our network. Can we run this command with the "routed-mac" command above?

DHCP is disabled and I can't remember the sub net. Connected with the console cable but finding my admin password isn't accepted. When ever I create a network object in ASDM 6.0(3) the UI also wants to send the command 'asdm location (network object IP address)' to the device.What is the purpose of 'asdm locaction ....'? I try to setup an office network on all of the computers to see if it works. I can still only get the XP computers to connect. My main goal is to be able to create a private network to share files between the 3 computers. This is for a small office in a corporate building so it has to be private.The third computer is running on Vista which I don't know how to use at all as I only have win7/xp at my house.
