Cisco WAN :: No ATM Interface On 887VW?

We've purchased 3 Cisco 887VW (VDSL over PoTS) and have been advised they can be used as ADSL2+ routers
I've configured many 887 and 877 routers before for DSL, but never VDSL.
We've followed the documentation at [URL] but the problem is there is no ATM interface showing up in config, nor can one be configured controller VDSL0 operating-mode can only be set to Auto also Troubleshooting so far:
Connected to ADSL2+ line in the hope that it sees the ADSL2+ connection and creates an ATM interfaceUpgraded IOS image to c880data-universalk9-mz.152-2.T1.binUpgraded VDSL chipset firmware to 120330_1738-4.02L.03.A2pv6C035j0.d23j I was beginning to think the unit was faulty, however opening a second 887VW confirmed that there was still no ATM interface
I'm sure at this point it's that the method for configuring has changed, there is an Ethernet seperate from the switchport but I'm not sure how this would be achieved
As for the interfaces, the back of the unit has the usual 4 FastEthernet ports, a BRI interface and a VDSLoPOTS interface to connect a PSTN line
Within IOS, the router sees the following interfaces: BRI0BRI0:1BRI0:2Dialer1 (PPPoE client for DSL)Ethernet0 (Virtual interface, it doesn't exist on the back of the unit, thinking this is where the config needs to happen)FastEthernet 0-3Vlan1Wlan-GigabitEthernet0 (embedded AP)wlan-ap0 (embedded AP)

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 and I have my internal and external interfaces configured but I currently cannot ping from the inside to an IP Address on the outside. I had this setup and working and I have another set of equirement that I am replacing that is working with my service provider so I know it is a configuration issue. When I ping 4.2.2.2 for example I get:
Destination host unreachable
Do I need to add a static route from my inside interface to my outside interfaces?

I have Pix 501 firewall and I'm just configuring the device for "Email Server" to allowing POP/SMTP.
Inside Interface Address: 132.147.162.14/255.255.0.0
Outside Interface Address: ISP provided IP address
My question is can my traffic goes from inside interface to outside interface? (because the inside interface address not from 10.0/172./192.168 private address)Also I'm allowing internet from this email server (132.147.162.14) so what my access list to be configured? and what my subnet mask shoud be there?

I've got a ASA 5550 firewall interface failover issue. (File attached).
when I shut down the inside interface Gi 1/1 of the left firewall(Active firewall), It failed to failover. but when I shut down the Gi 1/12 of the Core 1 switch, The firewall failover very well.

Needing to bridge from my wic interface to an ethernet interface on a 2900 series router so that I can pass through the ip address given to the WIC, to my ASA so that I don't have to give my ASA a private range address. I share a modem and router with my building, and connect to the internet using an ethernet cable which plus right into the wall in my apartment. When I hover over the network/internet icon it tells me that I have a local connection only and can't get online. No changes were made to my computer between it working and not working - I have not installed any new software and the modem+router have not been changed.
When I try ipconfig/release is says it can't perform the operation while the media is disconnected. It also tells me that "an error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: The system cannot find the fie specified".

I have five 877 routers connected to ADSL circuits provided by Vodafone. Each has a VPN tunnel back to a PIX.
Occasionally one of the sites will lose it's connection to the PIX.
When we check the log, we find entries like these:-

As you can see, the physical interface (ATM0) is not being reported as changing state to down, neither is the Dialer interface.
When the router is in this state we have to SSL to the public IP address of it and manually restart the ISAKMP SA.
When the router sees the ATM interface go down and subsequently come back up, the VPN connection to the PIX also recovers.
So - in a long winded way I think I'm asking....why does the Virtual interface go down and is there anything I can do to stop it happening?

I've been able to activate and configure the Cisco 819 router to connect to Verizon via interface Cellular 0 but when I connect a laptop to the router, int Cell 0 goes down.

I have a 5520 VPN that is otherwise correctly configured for access (so I would say). It is in test (external IP x.x.x.10/22) running parallel on an external switch to a Check Point (x.x.x.4/22) that is the live setup.
I can tunnel consistently to the outside interface on its external IP from inside the network, which is probably natural since I'm inside the network making the attempt; however...
When attempting connection from somewhere outside the network, I generally do not get response from the device. If I connect/disconnect from the Check Point VPN first, then I can subsequently get a connection to the ASA. I did actually have one instance of non-massaged connectivity to the ASA, but there was nothing that I did in the configs that would allow me to claim credit for that instance.
So here's the question: Is there a timeout setting that makes the outside interface go to sleep or something? I'm still at the developmental stage where settings that would be obvious trip me up for hours. I verified the routes. the timeout configs are below; I believe they are all default..

I receive email when an interface comes down but because i have a lot of routers with a lot of interfaces i can' tell which one came down , is there any way to include the description under the interface in the email ?
Also can i monitor the existence/not of specific route in the routing table and receive email ?

I'm having an issue setting a static NAT
We have a block of 5 public ip's
66.x.x.34-38
IP 66.x.x.38 is assigned to the outside interface. I can set static nats to all the other ip's and they work fine yet a static NAT using the same address as the outside interface does nothing.

On my Switch (3750), i have a host connected. Checked the interface status and it shows as "connected". However, when i tried checking the MAC connected to that interface, its not showingI have my Switch (3750) connected to a Router (3845). On the Switch, i have a printer connected in an interface. I am seeing the Printer's MAC associated with the switch port. However, when i checked the ARP table; no entry seen for the Printer's MAC. What are the possible reasons for this? We have several same kind of devices connected to network and they are fine.

I'm trying to separate my management traffic from regular traffic by splitting the management and "outside" interface to separate vlans but I'm hitting a routing issue. Say I have have a management network of 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 running across vlan 1 and I want to use 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0 running across vlan 2 for the outside interface to send all the other traffic excluding the management traffic across. Tag both vlans on the external interface, say Eth0/0 Default route of route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.2.1, With this, you can not hit the management interface because there is no route defined for the 192.168.1.0 network. However of course if you try to set one, you'll get the "connected route exists" error. How can I set the default route or gateway of the 192.168.1.0 network on the ASA. Switches just don't complain like the ASA does.

I followed a few Youtube videos and replicated another ASA's VPN configuration through ASDM to create the Anyconnect VPN on the ASA 5505.The problem is, after everything checked and triple checked, I still cannot get to https://external_IP. I can post configs if needed, but I really did replicate another ASA almost exactly.An online port scan shows my external IP as "not listening on port 443".

I am trying to do a Multicast lab in gns3 with a tap interface in os x and a linux vm in virtualbox. The os x box is broadcasting to 224.1.1.1. I have verified IP connectivity. I am using PIM dense mode. When I perform a packet capture on the tap interface I see no traffic to 224.1.1.1. However when I ping 224.1.1.1 from os x I see the traffic. Attached is my topology

We have a lot of 6913's handling our office ports and I'd like to know a simple way to find multiple ports knowing their description.
I'm use to Juniper so if I were looking for the 8 ports for the office's 3190-3199 I would type something similar to:

I know I can use | include with a show run on Cisco but that won't pull the interface just the description.

Right out of the box, the WRVS4400N [firmware v2.0.1.3] I just purchased says the WAN interface is DOWN; and it simply will not obtain an IP address from the Arris TM602G cable modem it is attached to. Internet still runs great on the old WRT54G. Is this WRVS4400 DOA? Or is there some arcane setting the quickstart guide overlooks? OR?

I have a dual connection from two service providers ( provider A & Provider B).In my internal network, I have two Vlans (vlan10 & vlan 20).My requirement is users belonging to vlan10 should go via ISP A and for vlan 20, it should go via ISP B.So, for that purpose, I configured HSRP along with intervlan routing and that worked quite fine. I have two Cisco AS5300 routing connecting to both ISPs and they are terminated to a common switch Cisco2950.All are in ethernet technology, serial technology has not been used. "IP SLA" command is not supported in CiscoAS5300.I configured the interface tracking command for HSRP as well.
When one link goes down then it doesn't fail over and go through another link. To fail over, I should manually remove the external link connecting to the router. And another thing is, if i pulled the cable connecting to the internal network then it fails over. "IP SLA" command is not supported in CiscoAS5300.I am trying to implement a failover using HSRP in Cisco AS5300 but the interface tracking is not decreasing the priority value when the connection is lost with the ISP and IP SLA is also not supported. So, in this case what can i do to make a perfect failover for the network ?

I configured a Cisco 881 as a vpn-client.When I configure the wan-interface with ip add dhcp , it never gets an IP-address.When I remove the crypto map from the wan-interface , the interface gets an IP-address without any problem.According to examples in the Cisco documentation, I should work; and it works on a 831.

We have a 3845 router, IPBaseM, ver 12.4(15) that seems to accept an SFP (GLC-LH-SM). It does not show up on a show run, or Sh Ip int brief.
