According to the following Cisco webpage, cross-stack 10-Gigabit EtherChannel is possible on the 3750 with up to two 10-Gigabit modules, using LACP: url...However, the webpage doesn't confirm if this functionality is restricted to a particular 3750 model, such as 3750E, or if it applies to all models. It also doesn't specify any particular IOS feature set. I've tried Cisco Software Advisor but it doesn't list this feature on either the 3750E or 3750-X. This is possible on the 2960-S switches (i.e. cross-stack 10gig EtherChannel)?

I have a pair of 3750E-24PD-S stacked together, it seems after stacked together the stacked switch always flood the console screen with these messages which are not true: [code] Switch-2 is the stack member, Switch-1 is the stack master. The RPS fan failed refers to RPS2300 or the internal power supply of 3750E? Even when I turned on the RPS2300 the stacked switch still display the messages. Also I have two RPS2300 serving stack master and stack member respectively both RPS2300 were switched off why the messages only refer to Switch-2 and not Switch-1? [code]

I have 2 3750x switches connected via a pair of stackwise cables, but I keep seeing error messages about the stack&switch ports going up and down,Performance wise, it seems to work, but I'd like to eliminate this message... Sometimes it will go hours without bouncing, sometimes it does it a few times a minute....

I have a stack of 4 3750 Switches.
1. WS-C3750G-12S
2. WS-C3750G-12S
3. WS-C3750X-48P
4. WS-C3750X-48P
The stack cable connected to Switch 1 Port 1 and Switch 4 Port 2 will not come back online. The logs show that there was a Stack line change. I have replaced the 1 meter Stack cable from Switch 1 to Switch 4 three times and it still does not come back online. This is the part that is interesting.. I have disconnected Port 1 Switch 4 and connected it to Port 2 Switch 4 and then Switch 4 came back online. This made me think Port 2 on Switch 4 was working correctly. Then I disconnected Port 2 Switch 1 and connected it to Port 1 Switch 1 and then Switch 1 came back online.

I have a pair of 3750-x switches stacked together. Using spanning tree with our upstream provider I have an active line in port GigE 1/0/25 and a blocked redundant line in GigE 2/0/25. I have setup a port based acl as below on 1/0/25 which is a port on the current master switch. Do I need to manually set this on 2/025 as well? Just wondering what would happen if the line to the master switch was to disappear or if the master disappeared completely whether the acl would automatically be applied to 2/0/25.

I have a single 2960s without stack module. The stack port has a status of down, however I'd like to disable it so that it does not generate a false alarm in my NMS. The documentation states that there should be a command "switch 1 stack port 1 disable" but the switch (running 15.0(2)SE2) doesn't seem to be available. Is this a dcumentation bug or is the command not there at all?

I would like to use flexstack to stack two Cisco 2960S 48 Port switches (2960S-48TD-L) for redundancy. Each switch will have a single 10G uplink into our Nexus 7K. One switch in the stack will terminate to linecard 6 (N7K-F248XP-25) and the other switch will terminate to linecard 7 (N7K-F248XP-25). My question is how many flexstack cables are needed? Do I need only one cable or do I need two to connect the two 2960s ?

I am having an issue on a Cisco 3750 stack where when the stack master is rebooted, all my lacp port-channels drop and then come back up again. After doing some investigation It seems that it is happening because of lacp using the stack master mac-address as part of the system-id, so when the stack master reboots, the stack mac changes. I see that there is the command: stack-mac persistent timer 0
There is this warning about using this command:
When you configure this feature, a warning message displays the consequences of your configuration. You should use this feature cautiously. Using the old master MAC address elsewhere in the domain could result in lost traffic.
My question are:
Are there any other consequences to using this command (apart from moving the switch/mac to another location in the network)It mentions 'If the entire switch stack reloads, it acquires the MAC address of the master as the stack MAC address' Is this still the case if you have the stack-mac persistent timer to 0? Does using channel-group mode on for the port-channels still use the same mechanism of having a system-id? (Will the channels flap using 'mode on' when rebooting the stack master.

A site that i am responsible for has the following equipment installed:
2 x 3750G Switches configured as a stack using Stackwise - Collapsed Core/Distribution Layer
5 x 2960G Switches as Access Layer switches
WAN connections into the Core/Distribution Layer are all Gigabit Ethernet over Fibre. This is a dedicated CCTV Network with 50 Cameras all streaming video into the Core (decoders connected to access switches)Each 2960G has 2 links to the Core/Distribution 3750G Switches, 1 to each switch - Gigabit.I'm running rapid-pvst on all switches, so spanning tree is blocking one of the ports and effectively halving the 2 gig bandwidth. Next year our customer is going to add in a further 50 - 60 cameras. After monitoring the current loading on the ports in use, we have suggested to the customer that the 2 connections to each should be Ether-channeled together. [code]
First interface takes commands no problem, keep getting the message that etherchannel cannot be configured across different switches in a stack when i try to put the second interface commands on.

We currently have as our stack master a 24 port Non-PoE that we want to replace with a 48 port Non-PoE. The 48 port switch at one time was provisioned as switch 3 in the stack (not the master). Correct me if I am wrong, but theoretically all I should need to do to get this working is to shut off the existing master so it re-elects a master and then provision the 48 port switch as the new switch one and make sure switch 1 has a high priority?
Do I need to write erase the switch that is replacing the current master first?

I have two goals on my Cisco 3750E -
* Limit bandwidth to match carrier provided bandwidth (10M ethernet port, but only 6M provisioned)
* Prioritize some traffic over others through the use of a priority queue.
I have come up with this design:
access-list 100 remark priority traffic
access-list 100 permit ip 10.1.1.0 0.0.3.255 any
access-list 100 permit ip any 10.1.1.0 0.0.3.255
[Code]....
How do I know? Is there a show command to show priority packets?
Am I right in assigning dscp 46 to this interesting traffic? That way it goes to queue 2?
Am I right in applying the priority-queue out command to the interface?
We also have voice traffic. But I think i can trust it to queue up into the router with trusted dscp

I am seeing on my 3750E series switches (WS-C3750E-48TD). I have multiple VLANs configured on here, one which is used as a 'workstation' VLAN. I have an inbound ACL applied to the VLAN interface *(int vlan 50 to be exact). This list is admittedly long at roughly 6000 ACE's. Now I just recently installed these switches as they replaced some 4507R switches which we moved to our new centralized DC. Here is the issue I am having. This same ACL was applied to the same VLAN interface on the 4507s when they were doing the work of the 3750s. What I used to be able to do was actually edit the ACL by removing it with no ip access-list extended WS-In and then followed up by the ip access-list extended WS-In ......and the lines I wanted in the ACL. I know I could use the line numbers to edit the ACL but this worked OK for me. When I would do this on the 4507R, the ACL was still applied to the interface but traffic never seemed affected by the removal and re-adding of the ACL. I did this by copying and pasting the ACL into a terminal window. It seemed as though on the 4507 the ACL was not compiled until the entire thing was in loaded in and therefore traffic was not processed by the ACL until the load was done
