Customer has WS-X4013+ supervisor engine and want to use as redundant SUP for WS-C4507R-E. Is it possible to configure EIGRP then? The customer already has WS-C4507R with SUP WS-X4013+ and has configured EIGRP.

Also for a small business of 4 locations, each with a 10mbps fiber and a 1.5mbps mpls... wouldn't you say EIGRP would be easier? Want to look at making the failover automatic if the 10mbps fiber goes down between a site, then the network fails over to 1.5mbps mpls. When the fiber returns in service then the network automatically preferr the fiber again.
Currently we use static routes and if there is a provider outage we have to manually edit the config to flip flop the routes.
we have 2 Cisco C4507 Switches working As Core Layer, but the CPU Utilization is about 54% most of the time and sometimes it goes up to 70% or 80% also.

I'm using a Catalyst 4500 switch (C4507R+E) with Sup 7E. Cisco Datasheet of this switch says that it can learn maximum 256K IPV4 routes. Currently it just learns 10330 ipv4 routes. However when I show platform hardware ip route summary, it seems that the FIB is just free 100K routes as below output:

My question is: Can I make use of all 147456 unused routes? Or these ones have to use for any special purpose?
I have a WS-C4507R-E switch. The current SW Ver. on it is 12.2(53)SG4-IP-BASE-CRYPTO. I have been tasked with making sure all of our switches and routers have the most current IOS running on them.
So, with that, when I look at the software available for download for my particular switch, there are several. Some of the IOS description makes sense, but not even sure really if I do understand what I am looking at. How do I know which software package I need to use to upgrade the switch? This is our core switch..while yes, I would certainly back up the current switch, I would hate to be responsible for taking down the entire network due to a unfortunate misunderstanding of what I thought I read, even is it only last as long as it takes to restore from the back up.

We currently have an environment with a 4507 as the core switch connected to four stacks of 3750e's in the wiring closets. A pair of Nexus 5548UP's also hangs off the 4507, but at the moment more or less dedicated to a certain purpose..The 5548UP's have the L3 daughter card installed.
My question is: Can a pair of Nexus 5548UP's do a C4507's job? Would we be able to decomission the 4507 and replace with the existing 5548UP's + FEXes?
I tried to discovery WS-C4507R+E devices with lms 4.0 but the devices result unknown, any package to install to discover these types of device?

Radius is very verbose, I can't use console because of the significant number of messages and I am worried about switches performances. I add that all debug commands are disabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to enable port security on several 4507R's. When I try to configure a range of ports the switch will randomly put 1 or 2 in err-disable. It's different every time I apply the config to the same group of ports. However if I do them one at a time it seems to work. But I really don't want to configure 6 fully populated switches one port at a time. We also have a lot of 3750's and they gave me no problem using a port range. [code]

I have a issue in my network, i have 2 data connections with 2 different ISP (Principal & Backup connection). But with ISP "X" the RTO are stable (RTO 240), but with the ISP "Y" the RTO is in 5000 and the connection always are flapping.

When I connected the 10 Gig link I expected the 10 gig link to be the preferred route, but after looking at the routes I noticed that both links have the same EIGRP path cost. Also the minimum BW for both links is 1000000Kb or 1Gb. Why?

Our customer wants load-balance across unequal circuits due to the primary link being saturated. Primary link is 10Mb and backup is 4mb (multilink 2 x 2Mb).
I have tried implementing this using ‘variance’ under EIGRP on the 6500 switch but can’t seem to get both WAN routes in the routing table - unless I use the same metric on the route-maps we use for redistribution – e.g. set metric 10000 100 255 1 1500
If I do this the 6500 sees both routes but I’m concerned too much traffic will go via the lower speed link causing more problems. I have adjusted the delay under redistribution to make the 4Mb less preferred and I see this under ‘show ip eigrp top’ and thought the ‘variance’ command on the 6500 switch would work. But no matter what I set variance to it still doesn’t enter the less preferred route in the routing table.

I config the routers with EIGRP and also write Static route between two PC before remove the link between router0 and router1 , destination is reachable , but when remove this connection , packet from pc1 to pc0 will drop in a loop and never reach to destination , is it possible to have a Link state routing protocol and static route at the same network like this scenario , how to prevent loop in this topology static route is configure as bellow :

I lost my SSH connection to the upstream 6509 and couldn't get it back. Luckily I didn't lose my ASDM connection to the ASA, so I disabled EIGRP and went to look at the logs on the 6509.
What causes a K-value mismatch, and how to I rectify the situation?
We have software router vyatta and about 15 branches with cisco 881w and cisco 1941. All branches have 10mbs bandwidth and 3 of them have 50mbs. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a production L3 3750 stack with 2 WAN connections, which is connected to the companies WAN infrastructure using EIGRP.Recently there have been a number of hello drops from one site, which is causing the EIGRP adjacency to drop and so the whole site goes down from the rest of the WAN. Physical cabling has been replaced towards the ISP router, and the ISP have found no issues on their equipment or circuit.on occassions the utilisation is high on the link, so reasons for the hello packets to be not reach the end point, but other times the links are lowly used.The WAN links are active/standby, so the active is always used, but the EIGRP adjacency is dropped by both links.

In order to distribute the incoming traffic between the two 2911 routers, I am using 'offset-list out' on them, but in the ASA's routing table I see updates from both 2911 with the same metric, i.e. the offset-list is not working. What are the default metric weights on ASA? How can I change them? I couldn't find any known bug.

We have problem con EIGRP and two ASR 1001 in High Availability. ASR2 have received all route (100 route) from PE, but in ASR1 doesnt received all route (75 route) from PE or from other ASR02. All PE have all route. The ASR1 when modify or lost some route dont update to the ASA. see diagram.
