Is it posible to route traffic based on what interface the traffic came first?Lets say I have the deault route to use interface gig0/0(ISP1), but a certain ip packet reach the router by interface gig0/1(ISP2). Is there any way (if possible without using source NAT) that I could route traffic back to that ip address using interface gig0/1. The source Ip addresses are not fixed, so I can not use Policy Based Routing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am unable to get traffic from any VLAN to communicate outside of the router, as well as get any traffic from outside of the router to communicate with any device on either VLAN. I am able to ping the router from each device on each VLAN, and vice versa. However, the traffic seems to die at the router, and I cannot figure out why. I know it's probably a small, easy fix, but I cannot seem to find any kind of documentation on it.

So I bought router 2 but since it doesn't have an F-connector input I need to keep router 1 in the infrastructure so I can connect to the internet.The port forwarding on router 1 is a limited list so I can only add so many rules and would rather have my router 2 do this as it alot better but i cannot seem to get it to work.So I set a rule in router 1 to forward all ports to router 2 and then setup the port forwarding in router 2 to send port 22 to my linux box but it didnt work.
Can switch do a port forward without a router just plane switch to port forward to another network crossing the internet.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI attached an Iomego Home Media network hard drive to my Linksys E3000 router (via ethernet cable). Before setting up the remote access on the Iomega, I forwarded the ports that it wanted (443 and 21) to the static IP of the Iomega. I checked to see that they were open using yougetsignal.com and they were both open. After setting up the remote access on the Iomega, the 443 port closed and I cant even get into the "manage storage device" page for the Iomega. Iomega uses TZo for the domain names. They tell me that the association is made between the name and my public IP address. My router is out of warranty since Sept, so Linksys wont give me the time of day. I contacted my ISP and while they block a couple of ports, 443 is not one of them.I've installed the latest firmware (1.0.04 - Build 6). Reset and rebooted numerous times, Port 443 remains closed.

Configuration:
- Numericable modem
- WRT54G router : portforwarding configured, accepting anonymous internet traffic, no DMZ, no port-triggering... in fact everything is fine except for ports 80/443
- Linux Ubuntu server + Apache2 listening *:80 and/or *:15001
1/ Situation 1: Apache listening on server's *:15001
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) works very fine.
-> Portforwarding of router:15001 to server:15001 (TCP) works fine.
2/ Situation 2: Apache listening on server *:80
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) FAILS.
-> Portforwarding of router:80 to server:80 (TCP) doesn't work. Diagnostic using the client machine's firewall tool showed the request doesn't get any return... no traffic back at all.
The system being fully operational when using port:15001 shows the problem does not come from server configuration.I still have to try a bypass of my router by plugging the modem directly on the server eth card.
-> If that works it would definitely prove the problem comes from the router, precisely the portforwarding feature as applied to port:80.
My guess is the following:
- As WRT54g router's remote administration interface is precisely set to listen 80/443 ports.
- As I still did not disable remote administration as I need it, but I will come to such extremities (very soon in fact as despair is gaining me
- Looks like WRT54g is unable to forward port 80 as this is it's remote administration port. You can set it up, but it just won't work, and there's no warning
Solutions?
- Disable remote administration? (will it work ? cause I would not risk to disable it for nothing...)
- Have remote administration litening on different ports than 80/443?
- Is my diagnostic correct ? (at least, does it seems to be...)
- (shall I get another device? Update to alternative firmware project?)
PS : I could be asked for ifconfig/netstats/hdw-fmw version, I would post later as I do not have access now.Looks like to me it is recurrent issue on WRT54g (maybe I'm wrong and just an **bleep** in LAN/WAN configuration which is highly possible)
I am trying to set up a web server behind WRT55AG router. I have read many forums where people are having the same problem, but none explain how to fix issue.
