i am trying to port forward my router so that i can run a minecraft server. When I put in th port number and save the changes, it brings me to a screen that says my changes have been saved yet when i go back to the page they haven't. I have tried deleting the cookies on my browser, using another browser, using another computer, and hard resetting the router for ten seconds. None of this works.
View 2 RepliesI did read the thread entitled ''WRT160N Can't save settings'', but I believe this might be different. My router is actually communicating with my computer (physically plugged in), since I can save all other settings EXCEPT the port-fowarding ones.I am trying to save settings for a gaming application in the Single Port Forwarding section of my router settings. After clicking both ''save settings'' and ''continue'', it simply returns to the Single Port Forwarding section, except everything is blank, as though nothing was saved.
Here are my specs:
WRT160Nv1
Firmware Version: v3.0.03
Here are the steps I have already undertaken:
1- Erase browser cache and cookies
2- Updated to latest firmware (v3.0.03), 10-second reset button, 20-second power cycle.
BEFSR81 will not save port forward info. I am trying to setup port forwarding for xbox (53, 80, 88, 1863, 3074), I click on enable to the far right and then click save at the bottom. It says settings are succeful, will return in 5 seconds. When it returns everything is zeroed out.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI attached an Iomego Home Media network hard drive to my Linksys E3000 router (via ethernet cable). Before setting up the remote access on the Iomega, I forwarded the ports that it wanted (443 and 21) to the static IP of the Iomega. I checked to see that they were open using yougetsignal.com and they were both open. After setting up the remote access on the Iomega, the 443 port closed and I cant even get into the "manage storage device" page for the Iomega. Iomega uses TZo for the domain names. They tell me that the association is made between the name and my public IP address. My router is out of warranty since Sept, so Linksys wont give me the time of day. I contacted my ISP and while they block a couple of ports, 443 is not one of them.I've installed the latest firmware (1.0.04 - Build 6). Reset and rebooted numerous times, Port 443 remains closed.
View 8 Replies View Relatedover my port forward GUI in my new linksys x3000. When I try to save any new port forward rules (new or using predefined), the setting are not saved when I get back to the configuration screen again. Nothing seems to get configured.
Have just uppgraded firmware to v1.0.01, but no difference.
I'm just trying to port forward with this router, and after I'm done entering all my settings, I click save settings, it tells me settings are successful.
But the it goes back to the port forwarding page and all the stuff is at default again as if I didn't make any changes. What the hell is this?
I'm sure it's just a little something I don't know about that's making it not save any changes to port forwarding.
I just installed my new E4200, and am setting the Access Restrictions. Is there anyway to block the popup window that displays every time I enter the form or save the settings?
I'm using IE9 and have tried adjusting the Popup Blocker, but to no avail.
I use a BEFVP41 VPN router. I have changed several settings. How can I backup these settings and store these settings in a save place.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from cable to DSL and had to ditch the modem for a q1000 qwest router/modem piece. I have this setup in transparent bridge mode and the network runs through a linksys e3000 running Tomato Firmware RAF1.28.9007 MIPSR2_RAF K26 USB VPN-NOCAT.
With my previous setup I had ports opened for some games just fine, but since the switch I can't see any ports to the outside world. I set the ports forward in the q1000 and the e3000 (didn't think the q1000 needed them, but did anyways), but not sure what to try from there.
I have the E3000 and have attched a WD 1TB USB drive. I set it up for FTP and Media sharing and it worked fine but somehow recently I could not connect anymore. I checked the router and all of my setting for the FTP and Media server were gone. The disk drive still shows avaiable but now it shows the entire 1TB free (it was at least half used). This is the second time this has happened, first I tjhought it was a bad disk and replaced it but now it happened again. I did do a power cycle some time ago but I remember it still work after that. Not sure why I am losing my settings. This does not give me a comfort level as to storing anything valuable on that drive.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded my router from the WRT160n V3 to the E3000. I had to port forward from my old 160n to get my NAT settings from Xbox Live set to OPEN. When I switched out the router to the new E3000, my Xbox Live settings went back to Medium (Moderate). I assumed this would happend since its a new router/setup.
setup my E3000 and Xbox Live so I can have my NAT settings to OPEN? I only need to setup 1 Xbox.
When I try to go to192.168.1.1 it says connection interrupted. If i use the Cisco Connect it tells me i am not connected to the internet. My pc is connected via ethernet cable. My son can pull it up on is laptop and is connect the our Linksys E3000 wirelessly. I can go online, I just cant get to the router.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThere is no "blinking light" indication on my E3000 at the Internet (Yellow label) and Ethernet port no 4. I tried plugging in 2 cables at all of the ports. I got the blinking indication at Port 1 through 3. The same cable's have no response at Port 4 and Internet port. As a result my I am not able to connect to the internet.

Save changes and i get a changes save message. When the browser goes back to the applications/gaming screen no port shows as being forwarded. If i go to canyouseemenow.org the port shows as being closed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSome routers are able to forward to broadcast directly by sending a port to 192.168.1.255, other's I've been able to trick by forwarding to 192.168.1.254 and then editing the arp table with 192.168.1.254 <-> ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff. Is there any way I can edit the arp table of the E4200? Is there a way to telnet in or get a console connection?

Configuration:
- Numericable modem
- WRT54G router : portforwarding configured, accepting anonymous internet traffic, no DMZ, no port-triggering... in fact everything is fine except for ports 80/443
- Linux Ubuntu server + Apache2 listening *:80 and/or *:15001
1/ Situation 1: Apache listening on server's *:15001
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) works very fine.
-> Portforwarding of router:15001 to server:15001 (TCP) works fine.
2/ Situation 2: Apache listening on server *:80
-> Accessing from Internet (outside LAN) FAILS.
-> Portforwarding of router:80 to server:80 (TCP) doesn't work. Diagnostic using the client machine's firewall tool showed the request doesn't get any return... no traffic back at all.
The system being fully operational when using port:15001 shows the problem does not come from server configuration.I still have to try a bypass of my router by plugging the modem directly on the server eth card.
-> If that works it would definitely prove the problem comes from the router, precisely the portforwarding feature as applied to port:80.
My guess is the following:
- As WRT54g router's remote administration interface is precisely set to listen 80/443 ports.
- As I still did not disable remote administration as I need it, but I will come to such extremities (very soon in fact as despair is gaining me
- Looks like WRT54g is unable to forward port 80 as this is it's remote administration port. You can set it up, but it just won't work, and there's no warning
Solutions?
- Disable remote administration? (will it work ? cause I would not risk to disable it for nothing...)
- Have remote administration litening on different ports than 80/443?
- Is my diagnostic correct ? (at least, does it seems to be...)
- (shall I get another device? Update to alternative firmware project?)
PS : I could be asked for ifconfig/netstats/hdw-fmw version, I would post later as I do not have access now.Looks like to me it is recurrent issue on WRT54g (maybe I'm wrong and just an **bleep** in LAN/WAN configuration which is highly possible)
I am trying to set up a web server behind WRT55AG router. I have read many forums where people are having the same problem, but none explain how to fix issue. The router will not forward any port to the server. Any attempt to access the server from outside my local network just brings me to the login screen of the router. I wish to open my NAT type as currently its moderate on all games.Where the hell is the area to add the port ranges?? Is it even an option on the new connect cloud? If it is, it doesn't make it very easy to find. Would be allot easier if you had a tab/app for "Gaming/Applications" like you did previously.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a BEFSR41 ver 4.3 and I upgraded my firmware to 2.00.4.8 from within the router. Had a problem with the flashing power light. Resolved the issue after reading another post on this forum using the TFTP utility. Now, however, if I go into either Port Forwarding or Port Triggering and change anything, there is no Save Changes button to click on in either page. They are missing. If I click away, or close the browser and come back, all changes I made are lost. I have tried reloading the firmware at least four times. I've powered off, pressed the reset button and any combination of these that you can reasonably think of. The buttons are gone! I have tried accessing the router from both IE and Firefox, accessing the router from all the machines on my network, to no avail. Everything was working fine before the upgrade, of course. The router does not have the option to save the old firmware before any upgrades are made. The original firmware has been overwritten so I can't go back to it.

A forwarded port is spontaneously changing the IP address assigned to it, but with no change indicated in the singel port forwarding configuration.I have a web server on IP=XXX.XXX.XXX.7, and another device on my LAN with an internal web server at IP= XXX.XXX.XXX.8. The single port forwarding configuration is:
HTTP, external port 80, internal port 80, protocol=TCP, to internal IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.7, enable checked The configuration is saved, and all works well for for hours and/or days and I can use the web host from the intenet as expected. However, after a few days or hours the E3000 suddenly starts sending the http traffic to IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.8 instead of xxx.xxx.xxx.7. When I log in to the router and look at the port forwarding page, it still says it's forwarding the http traffic to xxx.xxx.xx.7 ~ even though all http traffic is being sent to xxx.xxx.xxx.8! I have to reboot the router to get the port forwarding to work properly. If I leave the device at xxx.xxx.xxx.8 powered off, the router seems to work fine for extended periods.
There are no port forwarding services in the router that reference IP=xxx.xxx.xxx.8 , and it does not appear that the port forwarding problem is related to DHCP. All devices on my network have a reserved DHCP address based on their MAC. It does not appear that the spontaneous port forwarding change occurs when when the xxx.xxx.xxx.8 device powers up and gets it's address via DHCP. I have also deleted the xxx.xxx.xxx.8 device from the DHCP reservation table and simply access the device as needed by referencing it's IP, and xxx.xxx.xxx.8 is outside the range of DHCP assigned addresses, and the spontaneous port redirection still occurs once in a while.Is there a known bug where forwarded ports are sent to the wrong IP address?
I have external hard drive connected to E3000. It is formatted as NTFS and working fine. However if I disconnect from router and connect to PC usb port directly, I get a message that hard drive needs to be formatted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys E3000 and a WD My Book World Edition 2. (WDMBWE2)What i want is to access my WD from any where. I have tried setting up a simple single port forward to the WDMBWE2, which worked great. I was able to view all my files from anywhere.however, i wasn't prompted for any login.so basically anyone could access and modify all my data.I have obviously deactivated this again.
I have already tried setting up user accounts on my WDMBWE2 to try and solve this, but that only creates the problem of my TV and music player not being able to access it anymore(they both cant type in login information).Is there any way to make the E3000 prompt me a for login/password when requesting that port?
