View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a 2504 Wireless Controller and it works great!We currently have 6 Access Points (Aironet 1252) connected.We just added the sixth one a few weeks ago and with a properly configured and fully functioning Wireless Controller, it was super easy.Now, I have been assigned to add another Access Point, but at a remote site.The plan is to have up to three or more APs at this remote location and we want them to talk back to the Wireless Controller.We have plenty of licences on our current Wireless Controller.Do do not want to spend the funds for another Wireless Controller and more licenses.
1. How does one manually add a Aironet 1252 to the 2504 Wireless Controller
2. If the AP is on a different subnet than the Wireless Controller, how does one get it registered?
3. The best for last: Can a Aironet 1252 talk to a 2504 Wireless Controller over a WAN link?
I am trying to setup a 2504 Wireless Controller with a few AIR-AP1262N-E-K9 Access Points. But i'm having trouble getting the access points to connect to the controller.The controller and AP's are setup at a local network at one of my customers. They are part of a quite large organization and are therefore connected to some of their other divisions in different contries via MPLS. The DHCP and DNS servers are therefore on a different subnet.I have confirmed that the Access Points do get a correct IP from the DHCP server and that i am able to ping from the controller to the AP. When looking at the controller it does not receive any join requests from the AP's. I have setup a console connection to the controller and 1 AP, so i can view debug information.Most guides mention that you can run different LWAPP commands from the CLI on the AP like show lwapp for example. But i am not able to run any of these LWAPP commands on my AP.

We can see the 1552E gig1 interface is at 1000full duplex. Is there any chance the speed is causing the problem here. it seems the 1552E doesn't allow to set different speed & remains on 1000.

Then i have again set the country code to IN,LK and SG.I am able to see the LK and SG but In is not showing in drop down list.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco Series 4400 WLAN controller and I'm trying to connect a lightweight AP to the controller. I have already assigned the switch port to use my wi-fi VLAN, and have connected the AP to the switch. After a few minutes, the light on the AP goes from green to light blue (indicating it's serving clients). When I log into he wi-fi controller to look for the Ethernet mac address of the new AP, I do not see its Mac Address. I want to be able to rename the AP to reflect where it will be used, but need to select the AP via its Ethernet mac address before I can make any edits like changing its name etc. I've gone through the "monitoring" menu, selected "All" and still do not see it in their via its MAC address. I also will select the "wireless menu" which lists all the AP's on my network, listing in order from on the longest running, to just powered on.Is there something I'm missing like a "re-scan" that scan's all devices?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get a 1262AP registered to wireless lan controller. The core switch has three 2 vlans in it, management which is vlan 41 and AP interaction vlan which is vlan 51.Controller also has both these vlans.
Vlan 41 - 192.168.40.x/23 ( management vlan)
Vlan 61 - 192.168.61.x/24 (AP vlan)
WLC management interface IP is 192.168.40.18
WLC AP interface IP is 192.168.6.241
Now , during the initial steps, the access points are attached to the switchports on vlan41, wherein they get the dhcp ip from the temporary pool created on the controller and get registered.But, these access points in actual environment needs to be on static ip address. When it's ip is changed to a static IP address from the controller , it fails to register to the controller. the switchport is put on vlan6 as access port , after static ip is assigned to the access point.The error i receive is ;
%CAPWAP-3-EVENTLOG: Could not resolve gateway. Not sending discovery request to 0.0.0.0, type 1
the core switch we are using in this new setup is a 2960 with a lanbase image. I realised the switch is not routing enabled. it doesn't accept the command "ip routing". Will this be creating a problem for the access points? From the switch , the controller management and AP vlan IP address can be pinged. similarly, from the controller, AP and management vlan interface ip address of the switch can be pinged.
I would like to buy Cisco Aironet 1260 Access Points, i just want to use them independantly so i want to know do they work without the Wireless LAN Controller? or i have to have the controller for them to work? they will be in different locations so i cant have a controller per each location.

Niether of which are set to "Master" either.

But from the GUI am not able to find the above two field, Even in Interface i created under Controller > interface is not accepting IPv6 address. I am able to configure IPv6 ACL .
