Cisco :: 5508S Guest WLAN To Anchor With Webauth

Jul 18, 2012

I have 2 5508s (foreign and anchor both running 7.2.110.0) with an open WLAN configured via mobility anchors. This configuration works and has no problems. My next task is to incorporate a webauth page (accept/reject) to present the clients with AUP information, etc.  On the foreign controller I created a test WLAN (open) and setup webauth Passthrough using the Cisco webauthbundle (wap.html), this works as intended, no issues. However I am at a loss as to how to incorporate the webauth Passthrough functionality on the WLAN that is configured for the mobility anchor.

Cisco Wireless :: 5508 - Setting Client Count Per WLAN And AP Radio

Mar 14, 2013

We use WLC 5508 with 7.4. We tried to set max allowed clients per AP radio to 30 through GUI. We have APs with 80 clients associeted though.

When entering config wlan max-associated-clients max-clients wlan-id we got

"WLAN/Guest-Lan/remote-lan is enabled. disable to configure max associated clients."

GUI doesn't show that message, should it?  In GUI, Is it necesary to disable WLAN before too?

what kind of customer means? Wireless clients or clients for an specific application? If it was the first option, does it mean tha just this adapters could connect to my wireless network?

Cisco Wireless :: 2504 Client Unable To Get IP Address On Guest Wlan

Feb 23, 2013

I recently setup a 2504 WLC that has two primary WLANs (internal and guest) which get their IP addresses from a central DHCP server using the local router's broadcast forwarding.  Things seem to be working well for the internal wlan, but clients on the guest wlan don't seem to be getting IP addresses.  If I give the client a static IP they are able to communicate across the wlan okay.

It is worth noting that I am using LAG between the controller and router and this guest wlan is really just a regular wlan (with PSK) that has an access-list applied to force it to the internet only.  The access-list should be allowing dhcp requests through, but in any case, I removed the access-list and it made no difference.

Here is a debug client for a machine connected to the guest vlan (vlan 33).  The internal wlan is on the 10.10.10.0/24 network (same as wired and same that the AP's are connected to) and the guest wlan is 10.33.0.0/16. I don't understand why I am seeing the dhcp request come from the internal vlan/ wlan first and it gets an IP address on this network.  I then see a request on the guest wlan/vlan at which point it appears to get a valid IP address on the guest network (10.33.0.0), but the client never sees this.   [code]

Cisco Wireless :: Coexisting Controllers - Running Two 5508s On Same Network?

Apr 3, 2013

Having performance issues running two 5508 controllers on the same network? One is running 7.3.101.0, the other is running 7.0.98.0. The legacy APs are connected to the WLC on the older code to support older hardware. The new WLC is accepting all the new 3600 APs. Once all legacy APs are replaced, the 5508 on old code will be disabled.

Speed Immediately Increased To 11Mbps Between Wireless Machines

Jan 21, 2012

Have been experiencing speeds of max 2.5 Mbps for transferring files between Windows 7 machines connected wirelessly to a Billion 800VGT router. A speed of maximum 18 Mbps was achieved. No matter what I did to adaptor settings it was the best possible. Have 6 wireless machines which I cross checked multiple times using Lan Speed Test by Totusoft.I then disabled the wireless security (WPA-PSK) on my Billion 800VGT router and secured the network by using the Wireless MAC address filter. My speed immediately increased to 11Mbps between wireless machines. Speeds to machines on fixed lan increased to 26 Mbps.

Cisco :: WLC 5508s - NCS 1.1 License Center Not Showing Controller Licenses

Mar 6, 2012

I recently installed additional licenses on my 2 WLC 5508s. Then I installed NCS on a virtual appliance. Installed the NCS license, added the controllers, refreshed configs, created templates, etc. However, when I go to look at the License Center, I can't see any controller licenses. When I log directly on to the controllers themselves, the licenses say they are installed and "in use". I've looked all over and cannot determine why the controller licenses do not show up.

NCS version: 1.1.0.58

Cisco :: 5508s / FlexConnect Local Authentication / Usernames Not Showing In WLC / NCS?

Aug 5, 2012

I am working on a new install where the customer is using local RADIUS servers at each of their many campuses (for local dynamic VLAN assignment), while using a single set of controllers at the core of their network. For the record, we have set up a pair of 5508s (v 7.2.103.0) in their central data center with 3602i APs around the various campuses. We are using FlexConnect groups to locally authenticate and switch the users.

Right now, the config is working great as far as authentication and local switching goes. The problem we are experiencing is that none of the authenticated usernames are being passed back to the controller (and ultimately NCS). This makes the tracking and troubleshooting of users difficult. Is there something I am missing here? I can't seem to find any fixes relevant to this issue in the 7.2.110.0 release notes.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT54G - Network Drops Out / Power Reset Immediately?

Nov 25, 2011

Our wireless network has started to drop out periodically.  If we pull power and restore, the network immediately comes back up on all our our devices.  We have the WRT54G, and we have 2 PCs, 2 Macs, and 3 iPhones, and a wired home phone.  Normally there are not this many devices connected, but with everyone home for Thanksgiving and all these devices on the network we have started to see this issue.

Are there simply more devices than the router can handle?  Is one of the devices crashing the network for everyone?  What typically will cause something like this?

I would like to setup a 2504 to have one Guest WLAN and one Staff WLAN with a controller port for each WLAN connected to different devices.

I would prefer to connect the WLC Guest port to an ASA 5510 and the WLC Staff port to an internal 2960S switch. Will this work? I haven't setup a 2500 series controller previously.

Linksys Wireless Router :: WRT610 Deleting All Files

Aug 16, 2012

I have a wrt610n that I've used for years with no problem. The usb drive I've had plugged into it has worked great for a really long time, but it's fairly small. I bought a WD 1TB hard drive, formatted it with the router set everything up. after about a day I tried to upload a file from work and got an error, and it wiped the harddrive clean. I reloaded thinking it was a fluke and everything worked fine for about a month. Uploading and downloading worked fine from where ever I was at, on the local network or over the internet. Then I tried to upload a small file, got the error and all of my files were gone again.

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Seems Deleting Files

Jan 14, 2013

I've got the Cisco E4200  v1 firmware 1.0.04I hooked an usb 2.0 enclosure to it running a WD red "NASware" 1TB drive to it.The drive works just fine, brand new, silent, runs cool enough. I'm not saying it's a super-drive, just not complaining of anything.I started using it as a backup drive. File disappear randomly.Gigabytes of files deleted. No power outages nothing happened, the Router is 24-7 on connected to a UPS. So it is the drive, it was never shut off since connected the drive, about a month ago. It only shares connection among a couple desktop PCs a couple laptops a network printer and a couple smartphones, all updated, all clean that is no virus or anythingI removed the drive from the router and plugged it in the computer.Files were there, even though the files in the root were not all there, it must have crashed during the last modifications, although it's bad, and it's also bad that it does not give you a single sign it has crashed.

Computer Connects To Network But Immediately Disconnects?

Aug 20, 2012

where with my computer where it will connect to my network for a second or two then immediately disconnect. Other computer and devices connect without a problem. I have also experienced this with every network I have tried to connect to; it does the same thing. I figure it is therefore a problem with my laptop itself, but trouble shooting has yielded nothing and most of the fixes I have found require connecting to the network, but obviously I cannot do that.I can connect with an Ethernet cable just fine. My guess would be that there is a setting that is incorrect within the wireless on my computer, but what that is I could not even venture to guess.

Is there any way I can change this behavior so that the remotes will more rapidly recognize that their SA is invalid and negotiate a new one?
