Some devices are failing to connect to my Cisco Aironet 1262 AP. So far I have noted the ipad 2, a windows 8 phone and a bang and olufson speaker. Is there something I need to tweak in my config. Other devices connect fine, that is my laptop, desktop and android phone.

is the aironet 1262 access point a good choice for an environment of about 20 users. each users is in an office and we are looking at deploying the ap at the end of the hall on a wall mount. would distance be a barrier and are there any better options out there?

Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated. Step 3 Set the timeout value on the TFTP server to 30 seconds. Step 4 On the PC where the TFTP server is located, perform these steps.

I would like to add an additonal network to the ap for guests to use but I would like to segregate the traffic and only allow it to the internet. I am not sure how to start this and go about setting the routes, security and address scope.

The 1231 is currently registered as a LAP to a 4400 WLC and I'm in the process of moving away from this controller to the new one. I've pasted the output of the error messages I'm getting below. At this point, I'm stuck and not sure how to get around the "Failed to parse CAPWAP packet" error.
I'm getting these messages when I have:
debug pm pki enable
debug capwap errors enable
I initially got this error, but got passed it when I allowed SSC in the 5508 (Security -> AP Policies)
sshpmGetIssuerHandles: SSC is not allowed by config; bailing...
Now I'm getting these:

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm facing a problem on vWLC. I configured the vWLC and Aironet 1252, I created 2 SSID with below settings.
1. WPA2 Auth 802.1X
2. Web-Auth
Inside Wireless, I configured this AP Mode as "Local", but all of the client device such as iPhone, Laptop can't find these SSID.
All of a sudden my laptop, android phone and blu ray player (all wireless devices) can't communicate with my wired devices (marantz receiver and samsung tv). Everything still connects to the internet independently but i can't for instance play music from my wireless laptop to my wired marantz receiver. I had no trouble with this last week and didn't change anything (that I'm aware of) I did get Verizon to switch out my router but it didn't solve anything. My wife's computer also cannot connect to wired devices. Lastly, if I connect my laptop with via ethernet cable it sees wired devices fine. I tried shutting off windows firewall but didn't work. I have no other firewall/virus software installed. I can ping to all devices (wired and wireless) from my laptop.

I have tried to do all the above, but in many cases the terms used were different and the menu choices were sometimes not available. I did adhere to any of the above advice I could like choosing WPA-Personal. However, my problem persists and I do not know what to do. Is the 615 an inferior router? It is about 2 years old. According to Cnnet the Linksys E 1200 is the best.
I recently moved into a new apartment, where our internet connection is shared with neighbors who are currently out of town on vacation. Most of my devices (Phone, Laptop, Girlfriend's laptop etc) will connect just fine to the passworded network we are meant to be on. My desktop however will not. It doesn't even see that it's an available wireless network.
This same computer was seeing/connecting to wireless networks as recently as this morning. It was also seeing another network for a little while with medium signal strength, which it now doesn't see either.
So far, I've restarted a couple of times, done the 'troubleshoot/repair' options on my wireless network icon, and verified that my wireless adapter is indeed on. I've also asked it to update drivers, but despite having no internet connection, it tells me it has the most current versions.
Normally, I would just reset the router as a first step, however because it's in my neighbors house, I don't have that option, however as I mentioned, this likely wouldn't make a difference, since several other devices, including the laptop I'm posting from now, are quite able to recognize and connect to the network in question.
I need to use VPN from home to connect to my company. Company IT say that they can see my connection is successful but from home end it appears to fail (timeout). I'm using a CISCO WAG54G2 router. After attempting VPN access I have to re-boot router to establish broadband connection. I have checked Plusnet (ISP) firewall settings as okay (LOW). I reviewed my router's Single Port Forwarding parameter settings in light of info in these links. These changes have not worked but I not yet removed them. My company uses 'Delta VPN' product. No other changes to parameters have been made before or after.
Where I live there is no DLS or cable to probide me with Interent access so I use my Verizon 3G/4G smart phone (Android) as a hotspot. Right now I am using an old Vista PC and ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) to provide Interent connectivity to my home network and Cisco lab. This works fine but I must have my smart phone near the PC for it to work. When I go to other rooms, I end up missing calls and texts since I have t oleave the phone if it is providing Inerent access at that time. If I can get the Airnet's to connect to the hot spot AND provide Internet access, that will provide me additional mobility. This would also be good for small businesses as a backup Internet Connection.
Is there any way that I could elimanate the Vista PC and have my Aironet 1231G Wireless router(s) automatically connect to my phone's 3G hotspot to provide Internet access to my lan?
I have 2 Airnoet 1231G's running the c1200-k9w7-mx.123-7.ja IOS and a C3550XL layer 3 switch.
I have configure my AP with to SSID (11 & 12), but I cannot connect to 12. It authenticates, and while trying to acquire IP address from 12, it fails and connects me to 11 (if I have already saved the SSID connection).

I have a dell latitude d600 laptop running on windows xp home edition. We are using a small office network with y computers connect the laptop being the third and I am connected via wireless connection. I can connect to our network printer and the other 3 computers without a problem but I cannot go ontothe internet. I have an ip address 10.0:0:9 which is within our LAN range and my subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. I cannot also setup outlook and if I ping sites like google .com I get the reply 'could not find host'

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the configuration of my Aironet 1140 from WEP to WAP2-Enterprise to make it more secure. I am using the WAP as the radius server. After making the change I connected my Blackberry to the wap as well as a Samsung Chromebook. However when I tried to connect my HP laptop it is unable to connect. Watching from the Aironet's console I see that it is processing the association and windows ask me to enter my uid and password. When I do this I get an authentication error. I have tried several times adjusting parameters on windows but it always fails. Here is the configuration of the WAP:

View 4 Replies View RelatedWe recently had the Aironet 3502i APs installed in our infrastructure and are having a bad time with hosts connecting to them. The controller sees them, they have an IP, they are showing a solid green light, but you cannot get devices to connect. If you reboot the device you get about 5 seconds of connection and then it disconnects. The only cure seems to be rebooting the APs, but I am baffled why this keeps happening. The installer is blaming our devices, but it is happening to laptops, thin clients, and even cell phones. From what I've seen, everything works fine until, i believe, the device tries to refresh it's lease and is unable to do so.

I just installed 2 new units and neither will connect to a new HP gigabit switch - no link light, other devices can connect to the switch OK. Their gigabit ethernet settings are set to auto for duplex and speed. I also tried forcing one of them to full duplex and 1000 Mbps which didn't work either. They're both powered by POE injectors. If I connect them to a 10/100 switch they work fine.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOur office has 4 Cisco Aironet 1140 access points mounted on the ceiling. They are all powered via PoE. Every few days 3 of the 4 access points hang and have to be rebooted. When they hang I am not able to connect to their web interface to check the logs. The fourth, for some reason, always seems to stay alive.
I checked the configuration for all AP's and "Hot Standby" is disabled They are all using static IP addresses. I've tried 2 different banks of static IP addresses and 3 of 4 still hange so I don't think this is an IP conflict. I have saved the configurations and compared them and they are all identical, where possible.
They all have software version: 12.4(21a)JA1
They all have bootloader version: 12.4(23c)JA1
I have tried to download the latest software/firmware, but unfortunately I do not have a valid service contract in place with Cisco and therefore can't download the latest version. All of our CISCO hardware was purchased from Amazon resellers but no luck. I have also tried to contact Cisco and they can't seem to assist either. How I can get a valid service contract that information would also be very useful!!!
why 3 of our 4 access points would hang? When they hang, I can't login to the web interface and the logs seem to reset when I reset each access point. I have also set up an rsyslog server and I don't see a log entry that would indicate a problem.

I cannot ping the AP address from the WLC, but i can ping the default gateway and other VLAN addresses.

Setup
- VLAN setup on a Cisco 3560 48 port poe Switch
- tunk configured btwn the Gi Interface and the Management physical port
- WLC mode is configured for Layer 3
- AP Manager and Management are in the same Subnet
- Option 43 is configured for the with the AP Manager's IP address
- Opotion 60 is also configured with AP Manager's IP address
- the port connected to the APs are in the AP Manager VLAN
Do I need to plug in AP 1262 into a PoE switch or external power adapter before can power on? How about LAP 1262? Do I need PoE switch as well?

All antennas have to be in the same direction on the AP and I guess when the old 1230 is working well the 1262 will be only better . Attached u see how I plan to mount the new AP versus the old one...
Our scenario requires some customization in Wireless network. We have moving Forklift machines fitted with network devices. The network device in forklift acts as a client. But it doesn't have a wireless adapter and no provisions to add a wireless adapter. There is one ethernet port.
So we have a plan to attach one AP(1262) to each forklift. this AP needs to talk to the AP whcih is connected to Wired network. The network deivce in the forklift need to talk to the root AP(1262) through the AP directly connected to it over Ethernet.
