Cisco Wireless :: WLC 2112 Aren't Able To Connect To Any Of WLAN / APs Will Disassociate

Mar 21, 2012

We recently purchased a 2112 WLC, running version 6.0.199.4. I have everything running through a single port on the controller, which is connected to a trunk port on our 3750 stack. Our management VLAN is vlan 40, and AP is plugged into another port on the same switch which is an access port in vlan 40. APs appear in the controller ok, receive an IP address, but we aren't able to connect to any of the WLANs and periodically the APs will disassociate with the following messages: [code] I'm not sure if that's related to why we can't connect to the WLANs or not...

Another wrinkle is that if we plug in the AP directly to one of the PoE ports on the controller, it all works perfectly. I'm guessing its something switch-related since the only difference is that we're not going through the switch when it works.

5510 Servers Aren't Able To Connect To Internet

May 14, 2012

So, we've been trying to get our network ipv6 compatible and had to upgrade the IOS on our ASA 5510 to 8.4/Little did we know that upgrade to 8.4 would need me to change all out NATs and Access-lists. We have a 1-1 NAT configuration that I need to keep with a bunch of regular rules to different servers (http, ftp, rdp, etc..)

I've been able to change all of that and was able to test it out successfully in our test environment. But, when I moved this to our prod env, the servers aren't able to connect to the internet. I haven't changed any routes - no changes in IP's - just changing the ASA. [code]

Cisco Wireless :: 2112 One Ssid To Multiples Vlan Without Hreap Flex Connect

My scenario of deployment is in layer 3. I have one interface management and ap manager in the WLC. All my Access Points have differents ip address that WLC. I need to configure a unique ssid to associate my six (6) dynamics interfaces (each dymanic interface with different vlan subnet). Each wlan profile (ssid) should have the same security in phase 2 (wpa2/psk).  My cisco access points don't support hreap. My wlc  support only (4) interface into an interface group, and i need six (6) dynamics interfaces.

Cisco Wireless :: 5508 - AP's In HREAP Mode Disassociate From Controller

May 22, 2013

I have been having an issue with random AP3602I's in HREAP mode disassociating from the 5508 controller.  These AP's are in remote offices with 70Mb WAN back to the controller.  Randomly one or two AP's disassociate from the controller and I have to bounce the switchport to bring them back online.  The WLC is running 7.2.  Again this only occurs to one or two AP's not all of the AP's.

If I do a network scan, I can see the Apple TV and see that port 5353 is open, which is Apple's Bonjour service.  However, if I try to play music/video in iTunes, or on an iPhone/iPad, I do not see the Airplay icon.  If I plug into the LAN, the Airplay icon appears immediately. I have created an allow all rule in the ACL but still no dice.

G74SX Network Connectivity - Wired Components Aren't Receiving A Connection?

Aug 29, 2011

I recent bought an Asus G74SX-A1. While the machine runs like an absolute dream, it does seem to have a networking problem that I have been attempting to address for about a week. In my college dorm there is an ethernet port that carries an active internet connection. When my laptop is plugged into the port via ethernet, I receive no connection (well mostly no connection, every now and then I will connect for a split second allowing me to load my homepage, Google). This problem also exists on my dorm's WiFi. My LAN card is a RealTek BGE Family Controller (PCIe)

However, on my netbook (an Asus 1000HE, which I am typing this post on) everything is fine. I am quick to blame the retailer who sold me the G74SX seeing as they replaced the stock WiFi card with a Bigfoot Killer 1102 card, and my first assumption is that something was not installed properly during my laptop's assembly or that I simply messed up a driver update. I became quite frustrated with the whole situation and in order to find a quick solution I formatted the laptop back to factory defaults.

Something magical happened. For about a day and a half, my LAN card worked. I packed up my gear this weekend and headed back home, and at my parents' house my WiFi card worked wonderfully.I thought my networking woes were behind me, but this was not the case. When I returned to my dorm this afternoon, my LAN and WiFi cards began experiencing the same problems they experienced before the reformat. A third variable of some interest is that I brought my wireless router back to my dorm in order to utilize a less-crowded private WiFi spot and discovered that it worked fine and I was able to connect to the internet on my iPad using my router. This evening, however, my router decided to stop carrying an internet connection as well. I can connect to the router itself, but I cannot receive an internet connection, even on the netbook.

I have tried uninstalling/updating drivers for both the Bigfoot card and the RealTek card to no avail. My best hypothesis is that the problem lies in some setting that both the G74SX and the D-Link DIR-655 have in common, seeing as they are the only wired components that aren't receiving a connection.

Equipment: D-Link DIR-655, Asus G74SX, Asus EeePC 1000HE

Cannot Connect To Internet / Wireless WLAN Adapter Disconnected

Sep 16, 2012

So earlier today I purchased a new video card, a PNY Nvidia Gtx 560. After installing the drivers through the disc, I ended up getting he BSOD, and my PC just kept on restarting automatically. I fixed that problem, and found out that I should install the drivers for it through their website instead. So, after restarting my PC yet again, I tried using the Internet (Chrome) and found out that I have no Internet connection. Now, I am writing this on my iPad using the same router and modem that my PC is supposed to be using, but I keep on checking my WLAN adapter and it says that it is Not Connected. Now I have tried every forum, every post, EVERYTHING related to this problem and not a single thing fixes it. Also, when I do the ipconfig, everything says Media Disconnected and that's it. PS, I tried unplugging/plugging back in my modem and router PPS, Is it possible that when installing my new gcard and psu that I may have messed up with something internally?

Cisco :: Configure A Secondary Port For Management Interface WLC 2112

Oct 16, 2011

how to configure the backup port for the management interface for a WLC 2112.  I see in the documentation that it states:

"Each interface is mapped to at least one primary port, and some interfaces (management and dynamic) can be mapped to an optional secondary (or backup) port. If the primary port for an interface fails, the interface automatically moves to the backup port. In addition, multiple interfaces can be mapped to a single controller port."

But nowhere can I find where it says how exactly to do it.  Google seaches have come up empty as well.  I am connecting the WLC to a 3750 stack, and would like to have a secondary port from the WLC connected to the second node of the 3750 stack.  So far I have connected port 1 (management) of the WLC to a port on node 1 of the stack which is configured as a trunk and everything is workign fine.  I have also connected port 2 from the WLC to a port on node 2 in the stack that is configured the same as the port on node one. how to tell the WLC to use port 2 as the management backup if needed.
