Network topological as below:
Internet <------------> ISA2006 <-------------------------> local1 <------------>local2 <--------------------> WRVS4400N <----------> PC

All of my remote sites use various routers to route all of their traffic via IPsec. However, I have one WRVS4400N w/firmware 2.0.2.1 configured with a working tunnel. My issue is I need to set the Remote Group to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 so all traffic is forced via IPsec tunnel and not out the local gateway. When I do the error, Remote Security Group and Local Security Group cannot be in the same network. However, it works with Cisco/Linksys RV042.

WRVS4400N Version V2.0.0.7.I have been attempting for weeks to connect an IPSEC tunnel between a Cisco ASA 5510 Version 8.0(2) and a WRVS4400N . Phase one seems connect okay, where as phase two always give me the errors below. This as far as I have got, I tried disabling keep alive monitor, the device never attempted phase 2. I have read endless documentation on both devices and tried almost every combination of setting that I am aware of. The best case scenario answer would be detailed steps on how to setup the IPSEC VPN (linksys) & the site to site VPN (CISCO) as I cannot find any reference material for this combination .

I have a remote WRVS4400N that has a dynamic outside address that's initiating a connection to a ASA 5540 with a static address.
I'm all set on the ASA side. My questions relate to the 4400N. It doesn't appear to have a very robust configuration/setup available for L2L tunnels. For one my encryption is limited to 3DES.
But I'm wondering if I'm missing something in the config. I have to set up L2L tunnels to two other firewalls. One firewall has 3 discontiguous networks, and the other has 2. I have 5 tunnels setup, is this the only way? What I would like to see is 2 tunnels, one for each remote firewall, but then each tunnel would have access to the appropriate networks (like on the ASA side), is there anyway to do this? Perhaps a command line util for this unit?
My other issue relates to the tunnel-groups I have set up on my ASA's, and I would like to use appropriate names...however I can't seem to find a way to enable this to happen on the 4400N side....what I mean is I need a way to create either a "keyword identifier" or a "firewall identifier" on the 4400N and I don't see an appropriate field in the web interface.

i have a WRVS4400N Router and behind that router i am running a OPENSWAN Server. I know that the WRVS4400N has a VPN Service on board, but for specific reasons i'd like to use my own ipsec server.
The problem is that i cannot forward the IPSEC Paketes (4500 and 500) coming from the internet interface to the LAN. All other port forwardings like SSH works. I think the reason is that the IPSEC Services (Pluto, etc.) are already running on the router and therefore the pakets cannot be forwarded. The log shows all forwarded port (e.g. SSH) but does not show any IPSEC traffic.
I'd like to turn off the VPN Service on the router, but I cannot find any configuration switch that allow my to do so.

I have a WRVS4400N, and need to apply access control to an IPSec tunnel that terminates at a client site, but can't seem to make the device comply.
I can configure ACLs on their device for the LAN to restrict packets coming back into my network, and can restrict packets outbound frm my LAN but that is hardly a secure method of doing this in my opinion.

I just purchased a Toshiba Thrive tablet and I can't get it to connect to my wireless router. My router (WRVS4400N) works flawlessly with my laptop and desktop. I have spoken to a Cisco tech rep and they assured me that there is not a compatibility problem with the WPA-Personal setting I am using. When I speak to a Toshiba tech they tell me I have a router conflict. To verify this I went to my local Starbucks and low and behold it logged right on with no problem (The Starbucks system was not a protected system). This confirms to me that there is a conflict between the router and the tablet.Toshiba tells me that it is not compliant with Android but it is with Windows that is why I don't have an issue with the computers.

Just bought 3 WRVS4400N, I wanted to setup gateway to gateway VPN. I followed the instructions on the WRVS4400N admin guide and VPN does not connect. I also downloaded the VPN setup wizard and that also did get the gateway connected. Everything seems to be correct. Do I have to enable anything else? Firewall setting?
Below is my config.
IPSec VPN Tunnel: Enabled
Tunnel Name: TUN01
Local Security gateway: IP only
WAN1 IP: 192.168.100.1
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
Local Security type: subnet
LOCAL IP: 10.10.10.1
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0

I cant get the WRVS4400N to connect to my cable modem. The WAN link light isnt even lighting up. Im wondering if this unit is bad out of the box. Is there a setting im missing to get them to talk to one another. This is no mention in any of the manuals.
Connections: - The "Internet" port on the WRVS4400N to the "Network" port on my cable modem (No link light)
Here is what i have verified at this point: - My old router connects instantly to the modem when plugged in (Same cable) - When i plug my laptop into the WAN port on the WRVS4400N i get a link light. When i plug the modem into the WAN port...nothing.

As a temp work around I have two SSID now, one for everything else running WPA2 and one for xbox running WPA. The xbox seems to not like the router on WPA2 and though this would make one think, oh its your xbox, thats not always the case with devices. Some just may happen to want to use a feature the device doesn't support correctly and other devices are able to work around it while ones not so I cant for sure blame on xbox.

This is a new device, just initially installed about a week ago. I updated to the latest firmware. We have iphones, ipads, and Samsung Galaxy smartphones all trying to connect to this WAP at this office, but cannot seem to connect. If I power cycle the WAP, we can connect for about 5 min, then it loses it and cannot connect again. I have strong signal, device says "connecting" then immediately "disconnected"... does this on loop forever.WPA/WPA2 PSK.I don't know what to do. About to go buy an Apple WAP.

after being able to see the cctv on the local network and remotely, we are simply not able to connect remotely again. This happens several hours after leaving site. The clients ip seems to be unchanged from last time, and we do get a " resource online but isn't responding to connections attempts" message from IE8. The ports have never actually shown as open from online port verification sites, but again, we were able to see the cams via 3g and from another town just fine. And we can see them on the locally. I'm convinced it has to be some setting on the router relevant to port forwarding.

Just purchased a WRVS4400N and for about 6 hours last night tried to get it to work and connect to my cable modem...no success. Is there a setting im am overlooking? I have enough network experience to be dangerous but am not an expert. All other routers i have had in the past have been plug & play mostly. This one is making me want to throw it thru the window. When i plug it in to the modem it dosent even give me a link light that its connected, much less communicate with it.
System Details:
- WRVS4400N Connecting to a Arris TM722 cable eMTA modem
- all cables have been verified (100 times by now)
What i have tried:
- Cloning my PC MAC address
- Pluged in my old router (Linksys E3000) and it connects instantly (Same cables)
- Same as above with PC
- Changed a million settings in the router (to much to list at this point)

Quick VPN and have not had any success connecting with our router. Below is my components info. Cisco router: WRVS4400N, Firmware V2.0.0.7. The router is behind a Comcast SMC business gateway modem Remote computer: Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit
I downloaded the Quick VPN client 1.4.2.1, and installed the client successfully but cannot connect using the VPN Client Account that I had set up in the router. Below are several questions that I hope to understand.
1) Do I need to configure specific ports for VPN in the Comcast gateway firewall?
2) What IP address do I put in the Quick VPN client profile when I connect remotely? The WRVS4400N modem shows 2 IP addresses in the Status:
DNS1: 68.xx.xx.176
DNS2: 68.xx.xx.132
Are these the IP that go into the "Server Address" on the Quick VPN client profile? and which one of the two? or do I use the static WAN IP address provided by my Comcast account?
3) In the Quick VPN client window, what is the "Use Remote DNS Server" mean?
4) Do I need to create a client certificate from the WRVS4400N for the client
5) Is there any setup needed for the remote firewall (if the client is behind a home wireless router and modem, for example)?

I have a hosted web server that has a website on it that needs to connect back to a database within our internal network. We have a Cisco WRVS4400N Wireless Router with 2 VLANS. VLAN 1 goes to a Watchguard Firebox which is connected to our internal network. VLAN 2 goues to our classroom network.
Our database is on VLAN 1. I have opened port 1433 on the Watchguard to allow SQL traffic from our Web Server. I can telnet from my workstation on VLAN 1 to the Web Server over port 1433, so I know the Web Server is not blocking anything. When I try to telnet from the Web Server to our Public IP address over port 1433, it fails.
I believe I have the firewall on the Cisco WRVS4400N off, so it shouldn't be blocking any traffic, but for the life of me I can't get this to work. I have been working on this for two days, and I NEED it to work. This was working up until last week, then it quit working. I am the only person making changes to our network, and there were no changes made during that time.

Linksys WRVS4400N won’t connect with my DirecTV DVR. I spoke with the DirecTV tech folks extensively about attempting this connection but I can’t make it happen and they are stating it is an issue with the router even though I have Wi-Fi throughout my house. I changed the password and deactivated all of the possible firewalls and still no connection.

I have an WRVS4400N configured as a WAN and Wireless router and can connect clients (PC's and laptops) wirelessly thru out the office. The clients that are farther away (10-15 meters and on another floor) connect at a very slow rate i.e. less than 10MBps. I have a WAP4410N configured as a repeater. Immediately after powering up it will allow connections to the 4400 and clients work fine for a 1-2 minutes, then the connections drop and I can no longer connect through the 4410. Nor can I ping the 4410 through the 4400 although right after the pwr cycle I am able to ping the 4410. After another pwr cycle the 4410 is available for another short period.I have attached some info on the configuration of the units and I also have the configuration files available.

I have been given the following details by a company for us to connec to their IPsec VPN.
IP Address 200.9.21.214
VPN Device Description Cisco ASA
VPN Device Version 5510
Encryption Domain 10.152.24.10
Authentication Method Pre Shared Key
Encryption Scheme IKE
[code]....
I was going to use VPNC with linux but the company said they do not use remote access. So I tried a draytek vigor 3300v, that as well did not work. Had very bad logging so i couldn't troubleshoot. In the end I have decided to buy the cheapest cisco device that will allow me to connect to this.

I am currently having some problems on our 5520 ASAs. The problem is the IPSec VPN clients not being able to connect. We have had an issue twice this week where this happened. Earlier in the week we had folks not able to sign in, but some folks who were connected already stayed connected. The ASAs had been up for 200+ days and no changes have been made to it recently. At that point I had to reload the ASAs so users could start signing back in to it. Today we had a similar issue, but I didn’t have to reload the ASAs. The issue‘resolved’ itself. The VPN clients are getting Error code: 433 and the ASAs are getting Reason: Peer Address Changed when this occurs.
ASA5520, 2048 MB RAM, CPU Pentium 4 Celeron 2000 MHz version 8.3.2.

I hardly try to get WDS running with two WRVS4400N v2.The manual (and the web interface) says: "Note: The WDS feature allows WRVS4400N to connect with up to 3 wireless repeaters that can be either WRVS4400N or WAP200." But I wasn't successful by now in getting it working..What I've done so far:
- Setup the primary WRVS as Gateway, WAN through Modem, LAN and WLAN using WPA2 Personal Mixed, DHCP
- works perfect
- Setup the second WRVS as Router using the same WLAN settings, no WAN and no DHCP
- Enabling WDS on both WRVS, giving each the MAC address of the other
- no connection to LAN or WAN through the second WRVS
I really need the second WRVS act like a bridge. Since the manual is saying that I can connect both devices through WDS I bought two of them. On the other hand I've now read somewhere in the community, that this isn't possible with two WRVS (?)

I've got an out of the box WRVS4400N and it will not pick up a DHCP IP from the ISP.
I reset to factory defaults, tried another ISP, returned and got a second wrvs4400n all the same results - no IP address on the WAN port. The internet LEDs are blinking but no IP on WAN port and no internet connection from a laptop connected to wrvs4400n.
I even tried turning of the firewall too.
Is there something with these routers that needs to be done for internet access?
Most typical small routers are just set up as a DHCP client on the WAN side and DHCP server on the LAN side.

I am using a WRVS4400N as my primary router for a small office. I get the following message repeated over and over in my logs. This seems to happen for 2 or 3 days and then it will go away for about a week and then come back. What is causing this? The best I can tell I don't have any IP conflicts on the network and most of the time the network has very little traffic other than 2 or 3 computers surfing the web. [code]
