I have 2002 dell not sure that's relevant but I have Verizon as my Internet provider and after I downloaded an ip address hider it seems that I no longer have an ip address after I turned off my computer and turned it back on and can't load any Internet page. View 2 Replies View Relatedi did a fresh install of windows Xp on my sisters old laptop i had to transfer the drivers for it from my computer via usb drive since she didnt know where the original discs for it where at. Anyways my problem is exactly as the title says, i was able to connect it to the wifi router it recieves and sends packets just no problem but i cannot get an ip address or subnet mask. i checked ipconfig /all and it shows 0.0.0.0 for both the address and subnet mask with the defualt gateway being nothing, i tried using ipconfig /renew and the doesnt work it just times out. the DHCP client has started and is runnig on automatic. I am using my computer to type this since the laptop does not work, i only know so much about networking i can get by with normal problems this is beyond me though. internet provider is AT&T the laptop connects via linksys mini pci card I ran the set up for the router still nothing and after runnig the internet setup in the control panel i was able to get it connected and send/recieve packets but still no ip and not able to use the internet at all.

Server 2008 has two Nics one connected to outside switch and has internet, other Nic is connected to local siwtches which has 20 systems connected locally but does not have internet. Local systems were getting IP from server, but there was not internet on the lan systems, I restarted the server and local systems lost IP address. earlier everyting was fine.

I have tried the commands "ping" to my IP address and it works but ping to the default gateway IP address doesnt work either.I am using the same wireless connection right now with my smartphone. I have downloaded an app that executes the ipconfig command in my Android. I have used the same gateway IP address in my laptop but it didnt work either. I have tried to set automatically the IP addresses in my laptop without success too. I have turned off and on both laptop and router and also checked in the system window that all the processes such as DHCP and DNS servers are automatic and enabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, so with my WLC2504 implementation, I use the 4 ports to physically segment my wireless networks. Here is my setup:
Port 1 (Management) - Internal IP so I can manage the WLC from our internal network (Untagged)
Port 2 - Connected to our core stack and tagged with VLAN 14
Port 1 and 2 are both connected to the same core stack
Port 3 - Connected to a RV016 Linksys which is connected to our fiber connection to the outside (Untagged) - External connection for laptops
Port 4 - Connected to a Linksys wireless router (with wireless disabled) (Untagged) - External connection for smartphones
The TAC engineer I talked to just told me that I can only have one untagged interface on the WLC. If they are physically connected to different switches, thus physically segmenting the network, should it matter?
The wireless works just fine. What I am having issues with is getting a client that is hard-wire connected to the RV016 to get a DHCP address from the WLC.
Everything in our small network worked until today when I had to manually reset the router. We run a application through a provider which requires that we view it from the same IP address for access. We have a statis IP assigned by our ISP solely for this purpose. For simplicity, lets us 23.11.23.176 as the statis assigned by our ISP and 23.11.23.175 as the gateway also assigned by our ISP. The application we need to browse requires that we use the 23.11.23.175 address else it is blocked from viewing. When we hard line into the modem, we are able to browse it fine. When I connect the CISCO router and do it wirelessly, it shows our address as 23.11.23.176 what are the required steps in order to set the CISCO router to use the Gateway address as the browsing IP for computers connected to it. We had set it up about a year ago, and i completely forgot how.

I searched many forums and site and got a temporary solution Go go properties of VPN connection - click on networking tab - properties of IPv4/ IPv6 - go to advanced - in ipsettings tab - uncheck "use default gateway on remote network"
After doing this Im able to browse internet but my concern is the external IP should be of the remote system and not my original IP so that I get access to my remote LAN network.Even I'm able to find a temporary solution for this. After doing this setting we need to connect VPN and disconnect it and go for same setting but you need to check "use default gateway on remote network". Now connect VPN and everything seem to work fine , I'm able browse internet and my IP remains of the remote network and everything is working fine till the VPN connection is disconnected.
I've got a refurbished lenovo Y470 notebook, just out of the box. I was planning on spending the day configuring it, removing bloatware, ect. but I can't acces the internet. I'm at work, there is a guest wireless network for us, I can connect with my phone so the network is up. I was able to connect normally to my home network last night, not sure why I can't connect here. Running win 7 home premium.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI just set up my new HSI service with comcast. I am using a Motorala 5101 Cable modem. No issues with the ethernet connectivity of course. I set up a wireless network with a Westell router. Just now I found the westell 7501 router I use is meant for DSL service.
However I am able to go as far as connect to the wireless network without a hitch. The only problem is that there is no internet activity happening.
I have no virus/malware (malwarebites) that i can find. All of the firewall's i know of are off and all antivirus software.I Have a desktop computer with Windows XP Pro.
