View 1 Replies View RelatedI've bought a LG HR536D Blu-ray player w/ HDD, and it has DLNA compability, but is well out of range for a wired connection to my wireless router. So, I thought since that all the things that I'd like to watch are on my laptop (Win 7 64-bit) which is in the same room, within reach for an ethernet connection. I have plugged in the ethernet cable, but predictably, they won't talk to each other. And I have no idea how to make them do so. I messed around with matching the IP Addresses, and Bridging the connection with my Wireless connection, but to no avail.

A laptop placed next to the BDPS570 has no difficulty in making a connection. In the past I have overcome this problem by using two Netgear AV200 Powerline devices. However, I now require the Powerlines for a TalkTalk Youview connection and am looking for a cheap and elegent method of reconnecting the BDPS570. I could just buy another ethernet cable and swap it for the Youview one when I want to use the 570 but that seems a bit of a fag
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the Magnavox MBP5130/F7 Blue-Ray player. I have been trying to get the player to connect to my wireless network so that I can stream Netflix. I am using a Linksys router. It seems to be a similar problem to the one that Adie of Texas was experiencing. I looked through that thread and did the same things but still cannot get it to connect to the internet. It will connect to the wireless network but will not connect to the internet. The first night I purchased it I some how got it to connect and it updated. Since then I have been out of luck.

I am currently using the ipad to post.At first when i choose my internet connection, it will automativally try and detect the network type, then tell me that "windows is unable to connect to the selected network". I have read other user posts and went to the wireless properties and changed the network authentication to shared and unclicked the "key index". Now, when i click on my wireless network it will automatically ask me to enter my network key. But after i do that, all it does is wait a few seconds and close that dialog box without connecting me.[code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my other XBOXs connected to a 24 port switch but the one connected to the ea6500 directly gives me this moderate NAT issue. I thought this new router would be an upgrade to my old dlink but so far I get a new problem every day.I have reserved dhcp addresses for all the boxes and set up port triggering for the ports listed in several guides. But what else do I need to do? Is it likely I got a bad router?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got threeLinux Boxes (running Centos 6). They were all connected to my cheap WRT54GL-- DHCP worked every time.Absolutely no problems. Both the LInux boxes and the WRT54GL had MTU set to manual, 1492.I replaced the WRTt54GL with the expensive E4200. I set the new router's MTU to manual, 1492. NONE of my Linux boxes ever receive a DHCP address. I look at the logs, and they do DHCPDISCOVER, get DHCPNACK, try several different intervals, and then fail the interface and quit.ALL I did was unhook cables from the WRT54GL and plug into the E4200. Yes, the WRT54GL was powered off. NOTHING was changed in the Linux configs. Yes, DHCP is enabled, address-range assigned, etc. BTW-- one box is dual boot with Win7-- in Win7 (using the same card, obviously), DHCP works just fine. But, Linux doesn't work.
I can give the boxes static IP's, and all is well. Just can't get DHCP to work. I evfen tried putting in DHCP reservations (via MAC assignments) for the E4200-- still doesn't work. The new E4200 is on the 02 firmware (which I believe is cuurent). If I can't iron this simple task out, in a couple of days I'm taking the E4200 back, and getting a refund. I'll stay with my old WRT54GL... it works. Hate to give up on some of the new E4200 features, though.
I'm trying to setup a DVR camera system and two web page server boxes behind a Linksys WRT54GL. The problem I have is that all of the devices want to use port 80 to generate the web page. Individually, I can get the boxes to work, but when I try to put it all together everything seems to fall apart. I've got to the DVR set to External port 80, Internal Port 80 IP address 192.168.1.254. The web page server box I try to set to External port 8001, Internal port 80, IP address 192.168.1.200, when I try to save this setting I get the error message Internet IP address and LAN IP address are in the same subnet. If I change the web page server settings to External port 8001, Internal port 8001, IP address 192.168.1.200, it will save the settings, but it won't work that way because it won't actually generate a web page when I try to access that port. The error message doesn't seem to make since as all I'm changing is the port number, not the IP address or subnet mask.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to connect a variety of wireless devices in my house to my work VPN while allowing other devices in the house access to my home network as normal.I was hoping to find a wireless ADSL router that allows me to associate a LAN port to a VPN connection, then connect a wireless access point to that port. I could then run two wireless networks in my house, one that would connect to my work VPN and the other that would not.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwireless networking in their home. Their home is built of bricks (inside walls and outside), so basically going about 10 feet around a wall will drop a wireless signal. One problem is that the router outside in the office has a separate network than the router inside of the house by the kitchen. They're both configured to use different SSIDs/encryption keys, etc, but they both are connected via ethernet cable. Problem is, moving from one side of the house, she has to switch her tablet/iPhone to the network being broadcasted by the first router, and then vice versa when going around the second wireless network.
Can I just simply configure the router inside as a wireless bridge and use the exact same SSID/encryption etc and have only one network show up regardless of which one she's closest to?I basically want to set up her network to where she just needs one wireless network, and no matter where she go in her house, she's connected to the same network (regardless of which router it's connected to), and still have internet access.
I have 3 Macs (OS 10.6.8) and one PC (Windows 7) at work. They are all connected to the company network for internet and access to shared network drives. The computers are used for media (mostly video) production and we need to move large files between the computers easily and quickly. The current network (company wide) is slow and unreliable, so I would like to create a separate network for these four computers and have them connected to both the company network and the office room network. Each computer already has two network ports and I have a router I can use.

I think I will need to manually config them now that a second one has been introduced.the frontroom Bridge is 192.168.0.50, but we cant find the ipaddreess for the second dap-1522 at this time. So question to all, if I can - Is there a way to identify all of the Dap-1522's on the network or anything that is connected on the network. as the DIR-655 is only showing 2 things connected?Right now I wish she would have listened too me and had her house wired for ethernet when the house was being built.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlthough I haven't looked through all the forum topics I couldn't find anything very similar to my situation. I have a rather large house and my modem/router (Netgear DGND3300 v2 due to DSL) is in the very corner. Given this most of the opposite corner of my house gets either poor or no connection; however, I do have an ethernet cable run across the house through the basement to my home theatre setup. This is where I encounter another problem, I need multiple devices to be connected via ethernet and I also need to have wireless in that same area. In my mind I picture myself connecting a second router to this ethernet cable through which I could have wired connections to all my devices, and a second router broadcasting wirelessly. I'm familiar with some types of wireless bridging, but I'd rather use more of a wired bridge concept if possible, but I've never really seen something like this. The question is, is this possible? Or, what is another possible way to achieve the same results? The only other thing I can think of is to run an ethernet hub from the original wired connection to my home theatre so I can connect multiple ethernet devices and run a separate wireless extender or something, but this just seems pricy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll I'm trying to do is play music files stored on my PC upstairs with my Dune Media Player downstairs which is part of my home cinema system. The Dune player is hardwired ethernet via Homeplugs and can "see" my PC and media library and the folders in there, but everything shows up as empty - photos/music etc. The Dune will "see" a netbook we have via wireless and displays the contents no problem. Netbook is running XP Home and the PC Win 7 64bit.Initially, all worked in that the Dune player saw the Win 7 PC and libraries. I could do a slide show of photos and see the music files but couldn't play them - unsupported Codec. All my music on the PC is lossless and in WMA Lossless format to make things easier when using WMP12. However, nothing really supports this format and most devices prefer FLAC/ non Microsoft - and here's the collision. WMP12 doesn't like FLAC - even with plug ins I've tried, it's hard work.Decided to dump WMP12, clear libraries and wipe it's database. Installed Mediamonkey version 4 instead as this will do all I want - apart from maybe photos. Have transferred some FLAC albums over to Music Library and Mediamonkey gets all artwork etc and plays them. Have enabled Mediamonkey to act as a UPNP server and it's running. However, the Dune Media player still sees empty folders in the PC Libraries - music and photos. All the folder are shown such as All Music, Albums, Artists etc, but there's nothing in them. When clearing WMP12 library and database, I stopped Windows Media Player Sharing Service in services.msc.I have restarted this in case it makes a difference. No change.
why can't the Dune Player (or Roberts Internet DAB radio we have) see what's in the library folder when using Mediamonkey. It's the same using WMP12 with FLAC files. It did see everything when WMP12 was fully loaded and set with WMA Lossless - but the codec isn't really supported by anything other thanm Microsoft.
