View 3 RepliesI have a Cradlepoint MBR1000, it has updated the firmware automatically to 2.0.0. Now I cannot see anything that is connected to it. In other words it will not show any connected equipment in the wireless status, and it will not show DHCP status. I have done a hard reboot and still don't see anything. Everything works, everyone is able to connect, but I can't see them..
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy internet is set up like this: 3G USB modem>Desktop>Router>Everyone else. This works well except that the connection randomly drops for everyone connecting through the router. Every minute or so when you load a page a message from the router will pop up saying no attached WAN device, this goes away after about two seconds but it effectively interrupts file downloads and signs you out of things. I can plug the modem directly into the router and it doesn't drop, but for some reason it increases my ping by about 15 and I have to reset the modem twice an hour or it becomes very slow. My router is a cradlepoint MBR1000 and my modem is a sierra wireless 598U. I have also tried connecting the modem to other computers but everyone connected to the router still gets random connection drops.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get an MBR1000 Cradlepoint 4G router working, but every time I plug the 4G aircard in, the router constantly resets itself about every 10 seconds or so. If I take the aircard out, the router is fine (of course doesn't have internet connection), and I can plug the card into a PC and it works fine. I talked to Verizon, and they told me that the air card that we DID have wouldn't work with a router, so they exchanged it and gave us a newer one. The 4G card is the Pantech UML290. I've tried everything I can think of, including updating the firmware on the router (and the router's 4G firmware), I've reset the router to default settings in case a setting got messed up.The guy at Verizon told me that I should basically be able to plug it in and have it work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a CradlePoint MBR900 router where I use an air-card to get internet.Since the E2500 broadcasts better, I would like to use it as my main wireless device.I have a cable connecting a standard ethernet port from the MBR900 to one of the standard ports on the E2500.Then, I have my computer plugged into another of the ports from the E2500.This enables me to access the internet. However, when I run the setup.exe from the Linksys CD, the application cannot detect the E2500.I also tried to use http to connect via 192.168.1.1 and I cannot connect to it that way
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to replace my Cradlepoint MBR1200 with a CBR450 in bridge mode, to let the E4200 take over all the WAP and DHCP handling, but having a hard time.I set the CBR450 in bridge mode and when I connect it to my laptop it properly passes the IP info to my Mac and allows me to connect. I then connect it to the E4200 WAN port with it set to get IP address automatically but nothing ever happens and I am never allowed traffic in/out over the WAN.
I *can* get internet access by leaving the CBR450 in normal mode (handling DHCP, etc) and then plugging it into the E4200 LAN port and having the E4200 set to bridge.why the E4200 WAN port is not getting the bridge info and allowing connection? FWIW, works fine connecting to a DSL modem with the DSL model set to bridge mode at my other house.
CBR450 and E4200 both on latest firmwares.
How do I set a certain speed for each participant in the network D-Link router??

I have a 16mbps (megabits) cable modem that is connected to WRT54GL. Desktop is located next to router and is connected with a cable, Laptop is connected on Wi-Fi. Both PCs achieve maximum speed when downloading from the internet but when I try to copy something from one PC to another over the local network I get stuck on max 2.5-3MBps (megabytes).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am assuming, that the slowest component on a network determines the connect speed? View 3 Replies View Relatedi set-up the D-LINK DNS 323 NAS unit with RAID 1 (dual 2-terabyte 5400 rpm drives)
it works, but it is slow in copying files between my computer and it (8 minutes to copy 7.94 gig file between NAS and my PC via wire).
i am using netgear WNDR3700 gigabit router. replaced the network wires to the latest spec, and my computer has realtek PCIe GBE network adapter.
this is looking more and more like the NAS RAID 1 is the bottleneck.. possibly 7200 RPM drives would have kicked more ass?
my old D-link DGL-4300 was rock steady showing 54 Mbps constant speed (link rate) (in Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit Wireless Network Connection Status window). The new E4200 jumps around from 72 Mbps to 114 Mbps to 130 Mbps to 144 Mbps. However, it mainly stays at 72 Mbps. I have seen 150 Mbps briefly but I have never seen 300 Mbps. I have even placed my laptop within 2 -3 ft of the router and have a strong signal (4 bars) but I still have the same link rate issue. I would think that Windows would show 300 Mbps link rate for my connection when it is that close to the router. My laptop is a Toshiba with an integrated Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN wireless adapter. My son also has a Toshiba laptop with the same wireless adapter but he gets lower speeds than mine due to the fact that he is 50' away in another room in the house. His connection also jumps around but it is at lower link rates than mine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just discovered that my wireless download speeds are 5Mbps, compared to 16Mbps if my laptop is connected directly to the modem or wired through the router. Uploads are 2Mbps either way. I have a WRT54GS v.6 with firmware version v1.52.8 which I updated today, completed by setting factory default through the router webpage after I discovered this discrepancy. The firmware update did not improve the download speed appreciably, if at all.Should the wireless connection be that much slower than the wired connection through the router? If not, what sort of issues could I be having to account for this?
I did just replace my modem when I discovered I was having erratic speedtests and that corrected that problem. That is when I became aware of the wireless issue, so not sure how long that has been the case. I have Charter's 16/2 HSI, living in a sparsely populated area with solid internet service. There is no external nor internal interference on this 2.4Ghz band.
I have a Arris DLS with 12 Mbps Download and when I Connect my laptop directly I get the same speed as 12 Mbps but when I do the speed test with my linksys I get only 5 Mbps. How to upgrade to the new WRT54GL or WRT54GS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Cisco E4200 to replace my D-LINK DIR-655, which I thought was defective because I was getting slow wirless file transfer speed, regardless of setting, location and client.Using the E4200, when I transfer a file from a PC to another, both connected at 300mb on the 2.4ghz band, the file transfer rate reported by windows 7 and networx is from 2MB/s to 3.5MB/s. I think those transfer rates are not acceptable. Is that a good assumption ? I would expect something in the range of 10MB/s (which is what I get with a cheap dlink router, wired)
I also had great difficulty finding a channel. I had to try them all one-by-one as the auto channel selection made my PCs connect at 130mb.The E4200 is setup as follows:
-WPA-Personal
-Channel 5
-802.11n only
I have tried 3 different computers with different network adapters and they all underperform (IMO..).There are no other wireless networks in my area.I also took the E4200 to my office which is very crowed. Every single channel is occupied by several wireless networks. I get a file transfer speed PC to PC of about 2MB.I basically could have kept my DIR-655 as the speeds are identical.
I am having a problem with my newly purchased Linksys E1000 router, I am having terribly slow network speeds while on that network.
Here are my network speeds with The e1000: (wireless) And here are the speeds with my old wrt54g: (Wireless) Here are the results directly hooked up to the modem: (wired)
I've tried setting the MTU to 1500, did a RMA with Linksys to see if it was a hardware problem, did a firmware update to the e1000, disabled DHCP and SPI, reseted my router and my modem....none of those things have worked
My ISP is comcast and I have a Arris TM502G modem
I setup a network to run my business three years ago. It consists of 7 computers, an HP Media Smart server, three Netgear GS 605 v 3, where I connect the computers, router and printers. The server is only used as a file server and runs the backups. However, I also put together an Access database which has a front end on each computer and a back end on the server.Reading data from the database on some machines is terribly slow at times, 30 seconds or more for a response, but other times it is almost as quick as you can type.We are a lot busier now so do I need to upgrade hardware or do I have a problem. For example, my machine is just a Vista machine and writes to server at 60Mbps and reads at 21Mbps, two other Windows 7 machines write at 70Mbps but only read at 3Mbps. If I look at the Status of my Local Area Connection Status, its speed is 100.0 Mbps yet the Netgear states 10/100/1000. I have concluded that I need to change the network cards in the computers, but I don't know if I am correct.

View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to monitor network traffic speeds. Our companies network download speeds seem to start high, but then progressively slows to a near stop.Downloading small documents start out fast and finishes, but I noticed that the speed slows down significantly. This poses a problem when downloading larger files and documentsThe speed start out very high, but then slows to near zero and results in the file failing to complete. What i need is to find out what is causing the speed degradation and or where our bottleneck is. Is this a setting issue with the browser, security, etc.

The Setup On my home network, I am running Windows Server 2003 as domain controller and file server with a SCSi attached disk array.I have several client PC's. 2 running Windows XP service pack 3, 1 laptop running Windows 7 Service pack 1 and a desktop also running Windows 7 Service Pack 1.These are connected by 2 switches - 1 x Netgear gigabit switch, and a Linksys PSUS4 USB Print server at 100mbps.The PC I use the most is the desktop running Win7 and transfer files to the server. After transferring some large files from the clients to the server, I noticed that the speed was considerably slower than what I was expecting it to be. After investigating, and eliminating elements of the network, I discovered that the Server NIC was running at 10mbps. I tried the usual things like forcing the NIC to run at 100mbps Full Duplex but this had no effect. Strangely, if I reboot the server while the desktop is still switched on the connection goes back to 100mbps. However if I reboot the desktop, or even alter the network settings, it immediatley reverts back to 10mbps.
