I have just installed two DCS-942L cameras and uses MyDlink. The live video is OK from MyDlink, but when I log on to the cameras from "Advanced Settings" the live video is just a black screen, no matter what video profile I select. Like wise I can't select motion detect area, because there is just a black screen.I have tried on tree different computers. What can be wrong?

I ran the setup CD and can access my camera from inside my local network. When I try to access it from outside, I can access the camera fine but the video stream is black. I tried RTSP ports 554, 2080 and 5632 with no success (of course I port forwarded the dsl modem as well). My dsl modem is a westell 7500 and my ISP is frontier communications. I contacted their support tech and at first he ran me through the exact port forwarding sequence I had already done on the modem. He then went away for a while and came back to say that I need to upgrade to their fixed internet address service. I understand dynamic DNS and don't think this is an issue because I can contact the camera OK, I just don't get the video through (black screen). Another issue is that the camera is reporting PPPOE 'failed'. The support tech has given me two PPPOE user names and passwords but neither work. The support tech said that they do require PPPOE.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DCS 3420 that is connected via CAT5 to may LAN and 2days ago something happened on the laptop, whenever I open the window in internet explorer on Win XP Pro; the camera just show a black screen.If I use any other computer on my LAN I get a clear picture of the Gate that the camera is focused on...I have checked the laptop drivers and updates but ca not see something wrong.

I tried to select a folder to save the files to from the live video screen, but nothing pops up/opens when I click on the folder button. View 4 Replies View Relatedi've lost the ability to view live streaming video (adobe flash, i think) on several websites. it happened gradually over several weeks and now videos will not load. the dir-615 has functioned flawlessly over several years but it might be showing its age now. connecting directly to my com cast broadband modem fixes the problem. can i tweak the router settings or do i need to replace it?
my setup: dir-615, H/W Ver. E1, F/W Ver. 5.00NA, two wired connections to X Box's and one to Win 7 PC. wireless connections to several Win 7 laptops and other tablets/phones. com cast high speed broadband with their Norton security suite.
if replace.....i need a recommendation. the best bang for a buck while staying within a tight budget.
I record videos after motion detection on the cameras sd-card. Is there a way to copy all the files from sd-card to the pc? I wasn't able to copy them with the web-interface. I don't just want to delete the videos from time to time. I also want to archive them local.

The iPhone can not play AVI files, so I'm forced to use the snapshot feature which misses a lot of the motion. I have a Linksys WVC80N that allows me to send video email attachments in MP4 format that works great, but I would like to have this ability on my two D-link DCS-942L cameras as well. If there is no way to send MP4 video email attachments... is this something that could be added as part of a firmware upgrade?

The only thing i cannot get to work is to play recorded videos from the playlist on my mobile phone.I use myDLink Lite and the video-settings in the 942L for profile 4 (mobile devices) is set to MPEG4, 320x240, 5 BPS, CBR Quality, 384kb/s, "3gpp".

the 942L is up and running but I ain't getting no email snapshots nor video clips.I think the menu for setting up the "Video Clip" and "Snapshot" is severely lacking info for users like myself; what to type in the smtp field, the sender or recipient email fields, and especially not username and password. Do I put my email username and password there, or my MyDlink login email and password?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have this problem when using Remote Live Viewer the Web Remote Client of DviewCam 3.2: i can only see one camera at a time, even more i have to stop playing the current one if i want to change the camera. the viewer shows me the grid for playing many cameras but i don't know if they can be played simultaneously. I can select any camera and will play so i don't think it's an access problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my 942L set up for continuous recording. When I look at the files, the camera will record between 20 and 55 seconds, end that file and start another. The next file then starts between a few seconds and as much as 40 seconds later leaving a gap in the video recoding. The file sizes are all different and the amount of record time is different for each file.
Also, about 80% of the time, the time increments a few seconds on a playback and then stops updating even though the video is longer.
I just got the camera today, looks good, works good, at least so far.. BUT I was SURE this camera had a battery and charge function!? What's the point of having this camera if I can't place it say inside my car or in the garage (where it needs to be hidden, alas I can't use any cords!)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have two xbox 360's plugged directly into my dir-655 router with Ethernet cables. I have no idea how to port forward these, correctly and everything I try ends up with my router being reset. I don't have a pc connected to the router, only a wireless laptop.
opening ports for multiple xbox 360's (Black Ops is what we are trying to play).
One thing I do know is that when I tried portforward.com's walk-thru for port forwarding, when I enter the ports into the dir-655 port-forward menu, I can no longer connect to Black Ops at all, it says servers are down (WHICH THEY ARE NOT I CHECKED).
i followed the instructions on the link and I can not for the life of me get my NAT to display OPEN or even Moderate. Always says STRICT. I have tried all the link and all the videos about forwarding ports followed all the instructions to the T. But the PS3 in the DMZ. And still, Nothing. It's BS.

Just discovered I can change the focus on a DCS-920 by adjusting the black ring around the lens. It can be focused from very close, just inches, to infinity. I don't see this in any of the DLink documentation.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot connect to X-box live. The test connects to my router, to the internet, but fails on connecting to Xbox live. I tried changing from n to g. Set up port forwarding with dedicated IP address on xbox. Still same issue every-time. Even see the x-box listed on the router status page indicating that the static IP I assigned is hitting the router. Using WPA- personal for security and the X-box game adaptor with a D-Link- 655 router.

Works great on my android phone and connects fairly quick. When I try to see the camera image on my PC with windows 7 64 bit, I log into my d-link and it shows the camera name on left side of screen, then says Java run time environment not installed.I uninstalled java 5 times and re installed both 32 and 64 bit but keeps coming back as not installed. Camera is set up wirelessly through a Belkin router, so far no EZ config
