suddenly my wireless network is not in range for my PC.....My tablet and my TV are connected wireless to the internet, through DIR 600, but my computer cannot see anymore my wireless network. I can see other wireless networks, from neighbors, but mine is not listed.If I connect my PC through a cable,I have internet access, but wireless is not working anymore...

I cannot access the WiFi signal beyond 20m....There is no obstacle in the path. My receiver also supports 802.11n. There is also no local network interference.
I want to create a link between two homes about 10/15 miles away from each other. I was thinking about using microwave technology to achieve this. I would like to be able to use this connection for linking two home networks/internet and possibly running iptv and voip over the link. I was hoping to operate in the unlicensed frequency.

2) The first router is on the other side of the house from my room
3) The second router is not in use at all ... I'd like to take advantage of it
4) I have an Ethernet drop in my bedroom that runs under the house to the first router. I have a switch on that drop and use it for my Sony / Netflix box ...
I have been told that the DIR-655 cannot be used as a repeater. Can I not take advantage of the 2nd router to boost my signal in any way?

Routers are connected to each other via LAN ports with a switch in between.Both routers have the same wireless SSID with the same password. I am able to connect wirelessly to both routers no problem.
I have a machine running a shared iTunes library which has a wired connection to router1. I also have an Apple TV wired to router2. My issue is if I am connected wirelessly to router2 I may or may not be able to connect to iTunes library. Conversely, if I am connected wirelessly to router1 I may or may not be able to play content from iTunes to Apple TV. I cannot figure out why everything works fine sometimes yet at other times I cannot connect devices between the two routers.

I have an Optus Home Zone (mobile cell tower) that requires ports open.

I have assigned the Home Zone a Static IP outside the DHCP range and set the above Ports on the NAT, Virtual servers to that IP address.
I have used nmap to scan the ports and it provides open/filtered status for all of them.
Here is the kicker for me, i use a DGN3500 netgear (which keeps dropping WiFi hence its replacement) and enter the ports and it works straight away. Un plug and put the Tp-Link and nothing.
I use Eset Smart Security, could that be the problem?
We currently use the DIR 655 in our home. I has a great range, and we've never had any problems. Our house is a very tall Victorian, so some areas don't get as strong a signal as others. I'd like to set up a few addition devices to extend the coverage of our network.
I installed a DAP 1522 as a bridge to our entertainment PC. After a while of trying to sort out how to configure it everything is working there. The 1522 is connected to the PC via cable.
I still want to extend the overall wireless range to better cover the lower floors and back porch.
From reading the manual on the 1522 I am a bit confused. I understand how it works as a bridge, connecting devices via cable. Will it also extend the range is set as an Access Point without needing the devices to connect via cable?

I have low signal range from this WDR4300 router on both bands and especially on 5Ghz i lose my connectivity on just few meters away from the router and on other rooms in my 80m2 apartment, i also own another tp link 740n with only one antenna and the range is better with it almost covers all my apartment. Sending WiFi signal about 1/4 mile from my home to where my daughter lives so she can use her Samsung Galaxy2 Tablet on WiFi.There are homes, condos and trees in between us, so it is not a clear path.So far this is what I have done.I am using a modem and a Netgear WNR834B Wireless N Router.I connected a Hawkins Laptop Extender (HWREN Wireless 150N Mini Extender * single antenna outlet) into the router and connected a WiFi cable from the Hawkins to my tower outside above my roof and have attached a 10 dbi gain Trendnet antenna (omnidirectional) to the cable.But still the WiFi signal doesn't seem to be very strong at all when I test with my phone.And obviously, my daughters tablet does not see my router when she has her tablet search for WiFi.I also tried a 14dbi WIfi ASUS directional antenna and basically came up with the same outcome... she could not see the WiFi signal..My daughter lives in a condo and is not capable or allowed to install any outside antenna system whatsoever.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased this network range extender for my house. Upon going through the set up wizard the last step asked me to confirm that I could connect to the extender. After putting in the passphrase and clicking connect, it tells me that the passphrase is wrong. It is set to WEP 64bit (cannot change this) and uses the same information as my wireless network itself. I know im not entering an incorrect passphrase because it clearly shows me what the passphrase is at the end of the set up wizard. I looked for some troubleshooting from the Netgear website and in the manual but it just says that the extender is outside the network range, which is not true as ive moved it around to different spots and it gives me the same error.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI seem to get worse range on the DIR-655 than I did on the DIR-615. I was able to walk out to the parking lot with 1 bar of signal on my phone with the DIR-615. I can get about half way there before I have no signal now that I've got the DIR-655. Are there some settings to disable that might be playing a role in this? I've got the router configured for wireless N only, could that have something to do with it?

The router does not do this range and I cannot set it to that range ( the first three xxx). If I try the router defaults back to 192.168.x.xxx.
